Popular Post! BlueLion. 21,491 Posted May 31, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted May 31, 2015 Yes it matters. He might be one of the best CFC players ever, but definitely not the favorite CFC player/hero for some anymore. On a scale of 100, maybe 10% kept the same feeling for him, 50% still see him as a Chelsea legend and 40% dislike him. We don't know the exact numbers but one thing is for sure, without this stupid decision, not 0.01% of the CFC fans would dislike him.For me personally, he was my top 2 player with DD prior this move, I had his pic on my avatar on every sports forum. Now he's just an ex Chelsea player I don't like.I will always remember him in sky blue.I don't dislike him, and his records will never be beaten nor his legend status revoked. However I now see him as being below Terry, Cech and Drogba in the "Greatest Ever" rankings. He made his choice. People will always see his last EPL game as him wearing the wrong colour blue. Popular Post! Madmax 9,219 Posted June 1, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted June 1, 2015 Can't get that involved, sorry. Players are players.lol if players are just players then why accord some the status of a legend? Is 'involvement' only fine so long as it's of the positive kind? This is no ordinary player we're talking about; he's Frank Lampard. Of course there'll be reactions. In fact it's because he's Frank Lampard that there are reactions. Football will always be tribal and things such as these will always polarize opinions, let's not be naive. CHOULO19 24,332
But does it REALLY matter? I don't think so. Sure, some fans won't like him, but most will and he's still the best Chelsea player ever. Not really a big deal tbh.Of course it matters, and not just in affinities. One possible important consequence could be on any possible future roles at the club. To quote Jose (rephrased as I can't remember exact words): "We thought he was going to have a year in the US and then come back to be a coach or something at the club, now I don't know if he can still be part of the club in the future." Rhino's Skin 972
Lampard is almost identical to Van Persie. Both liars. One of their club's best players as well. But at least Van Persie wasn't a coward.I would even put ZOLA in front of Lampard.Just wondering what proof you have that he was a liar?Even his recent tv interview explained a little of what went on.If the club do not want a player then as an ex employee any player should be free to ply their trade wherever they want and go with best wishes from all at the club and the support. Rhino's Skin 972
We all thought he was going to play for NYFC and he did say he's going to play for them straight after Chelsea, but he didn't. He turned to City. Our title rivals for the season. He's a liar and no interview is going to change that.As I said before, I would have respected him more if he told us straight up he is going to City. What he did was embarrassing to the club.Have you not seen the recent tv documentry on sky after his last match? He didnt know he was going to City until after he signed an agreement with New York.Going by what happened at the last match of the season v Sunderland with the handing over of the trophy, Didier Drogba made a great speech and talked about Lampard....the whole North Stand sang his name.He would be welcomed back for sure

It's not even important, because it was him who said yes to ManCity. It was him who agreed to play for our biggest rivals of this season, to beat us. You pretend like NY City put a sneaky clause into the contract to play for Mancity, no he decided to play for Mancity. This guy has an IQ of 140, do you really think he didn't know what he was doing? He knew what he was doing, he said he signed with New york City and then the chance came to train and play with Mancity. But when Premier league were researching the third party ownership thing, it was published that he signed with Mancity, from the beginning! He also EXTENDED his stay at City, why? To gain fitness for the MLS season, nonsense. He wanted to win the EPL with City so badly, to beat US Chelsea to the title. He won City around 7 points on his own, 3 gained by that goal against us.So let me ask you, if we finished second behind City with 1-2 points. What would you think of Lampard? What would happen if we didn't win the EPL this season? He knew it, Jose probably sacked and Chelsea had to start all over again. But nothing is more important than his own ego. Just because we were too strong doesn't mean he wasn't wrong. For me it's the same. In Dutch we say "trust comes by foot and leaves on a horse". That's saying building trust you need time, but to lose it you just need one action, and this was his action. He lied against us, set up a show in New york for the Newyork fans for marketing reasons. He tried to keep his face and reputation, a real man is at least honest and say "hey I want to play one more year in England, so I go to City." A real man would not pretend it was a suprise to play for Mancity while he signed with them from the beginning! He's a smart guy, using the media, saying indirectly Chelsea were wrong to let him go. Putting the blame on Chelsea, while it's him being the liar. His records and trophies are in the books, but he damaged his legacy. There would be 0,0 discussions about his legendary status if he didn't move to City. The case with Cech is different, he is still a top 5 GK in the world in his prime. He sat on the bench for a year to help us to win trophies, while he had 2 windows to leave. We have to believe that because thats what we have been told unless its you and the other drama queens are the ones with inside information or were actually in New York witnessing all the talks that went on.Personally, once a player has left our club ( in this case he was told after the last home game v Norwich by Jose that the club were not renewing his contract and letting him go), as a supporter I wish them all the best.So what if he ended up playing for another PL team......he was a free agent and we had no rights to determine what he did.Cannot understand why so called proper football supporters get their nappies all wet when a player moves from one club to another....rivals or not. Happens all the time....especially in other big European leagues. If Lampard had fired City to the title with loads of brilliant performances and goals....then who are the mugs? I would say the Chelsea board, not him, or us as we have to go on what they believe is right and in this case over the course of the season, they have been proven right

Pre-agreement for what then? 2016 or the last games of 2015?The moment when you need to show loyalty is when you are a free man without obligations. Chelsea gave him so much, he knew he carried the club's image on him. He knew CFC supporters absolutely adored him and saw him as a legend. But he decided to do this, damaging the club, yes now some people will call him a EPL legend instead of CFC legend and hurting the supporters. Fans abroad stay up late or wake up early to watch Chelsea. Why? Because of the emotions and passion for the club, football without these emotions could be quite boring.
