Barcelona seal signing of Toulouse defender Jean Clair Todibo:(

He will pen a four year deal and arrive on a free transfer in June:rant:

https://www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/barcelona-seal-signing-of-toulouse-defender-jean-clair-todibo-7229253

Jean Clair Todibo will be a new Barcelona player at the end of the season. The club believe all the details have been sealed to sign the 19-year-old centre back from Toulouse on a free transfer. He will come on a four-year deal.

Todibo will join the first team straight away in the summer and work with the squad for the full pre-season. However at the end of August his position will be evaluated. He is young and has lots of potential so Barca may want him to move on loan to get first team experience.

The signing, is a choice by Eric Abidal and doesn’t exclude Barca from still searching for another centre-back who will go into the first team squad next season. <<<<<<<<< de Ligt:rant:

Pedulla has weighed in:

https://www.alfredopedulla.com/esclusiva-chelsea-vuole-incontrare-la-juve-higuain-sondaggio-cavani/

Typical Pedulla translation:

The Chelsea has to solve at all costs the goal problem. In the last few hours he did a survey, only a poll, with the Paris Saint-Germain for Cavani , deadline 2020 and also attracted by Chinese sirens for the future. Just a survey, we said. Because Chelsea is going to ask for a match next week at Juve to assess the Higuain situation .

His name isn't linked a lot and aport from @Vesper and myself previously (sorry if I've forgotten anyone else), for the the kind of money they are talking about for Wilson, and a couple of stop gaps like Higuain or Cavani, I'd like to see Depay's name come up.  I think he's worth the risk, seeing as though every other target has a question mark, his ceiling is very high in comparison.

Ajax sign Boca Juniors defender as ‘De Ligt replacement’

Lisandro Magallán is said to be the one who will take De Ligt’s place next summer

https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2019/1/2/18165862/ajax-sign-boca-juniors-defender-as-de-ligt-replacement

Ajax have already made their move for what many consider to be the eventual replacement for the expected departure of Matthijs De Ligt. The Amsterdam club have announced the capture of Lisandro Magallán from Boca Juniors, with the departure of their captain, De Ligt, in next summer’s transfer window practically assured.

It is expected that De Ligt will remain with the team for the time being despite the signing of the 25-year-old Argentine. Magallán is 25 and was a starter for the Boca side that reached the Copa Libertadores final, which was lost to River Plate at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

The defender cost Ajax 9 million euro and signed until 2023.

Barcelona are one of many European giants said to be chasing De Ligt. In a related matter, reports have said that the Catalans are close to securing the services of his teammate at club and international level, Frenkie De Jong. But it remains to be seen whether Barça can land both De Jong and De Ligt, who are both hot commodities at the moment among the European elite, and sure to fetch a very large transfer fee and salary next summer.

Well, it's the  fundamental passage of the Blues season.

Yes, our tip with Morata isn't thick enough.  Limp, almost.

I'm wondering if theres not trouble on the homefront?

EVERY time he scores - yeah I know - He always gives it the 'A' to his Mrs Alicw but hes not done it for the past few. Instead he looks like a bear swallowing a bee hive!

If Zappa,Cahill,Fab,Drinkwater,Moses,Morata leave this transfer window , hell the board will be busy trying to get replacements/upgrades or we will be screwed for the rest of this season!

Fabregas and Morata need replacing properly, but not sure about the rest. 2017's terrible summer transfer window has left the squad bloated with some players that don't even really need replacing.

Drinkwater hasn't played yet so wouldn't be missed. Moses has now been overtaken by CHO so wouldn't need replacing. Sarri has also said that Cahill doesn't need replacing as we have Christensen and Ampadu.

Zappacosta probably should be replaced but to be honest I'd love Reece James to come back next season and play games as understudy to Azpi. He definitely has the potential to become first choice one day and 10-15 games next season as backup would be the next stage in his development. If the club did this though they'd either need to hang on to Zappa until the summer or make do. I guess if needed Rudiger or Ampadu could play at right back. Azpi is nailed on first choice and will be club captain when Cahill leaves so as long as he doesn't get injured he'll start most if not all games for the rest of this season.
