I think we are going to see more of this. Barca wants to sell Frankie, they link him to Man Utd because of the deep pockets. Player says he wants to be playing UCL. Cue a top 4 team to come and get him.

Not so much free when you are considering the wages they're laying out along with substantial signing-on fees. Mbappe is the only one that will probably be deemed as "value" in the long run due to potential re-sale value, etc.

Seems to be the in thing now , running down your contract then getting mega wages. The backside of that is it creates instability in a team as some want parity. 350k a week for Haaland (400 with extras) probably isnt a problem when the club is basically owned by a nation state. Same with 'Royal' Madrid subsidised by the government.
