By the oldest generation, do you mean those who took part in the civil rights movement? In any case, black youths hear/learn such things from their parents and other adults around them. He wasn't a Liverpool player at that time so I had no prejudice against him whatsoever but I was sickened by what he did. And the way he & the rest of the team celebrated after the game - didn't they carry him on their shoulders as if he had just scored a hat-trick to win them the world cup? Astonishing.
