Dortmund's defending has been a debacle in the league. It's incredible how easy they are letting oppositions score goals against them. Watching them at times, it feels even more pathetic and ridiculous than Liverpool and Arsenal.

I think the 4 fullbacks helps defensively against teams on the counter. They hold so much possession so they mostly defend counters because of how high up the pitch they are normally.

Rafinha and bernat are usually so high up the pitch, so it leaves alaba and lahm to defend the fast counters on the flanks and because they are natural fullbacks, its easy for them.
