Good for him. He shut up the pro-United media and showed them that he still has a major part to play at this club. I would not rush him straight back into the first XI though because it was only 1 game. Still, if he impresses as a substitute then I do not see why he could not regain his place.

To be honest, he was very poor in the first half. Better in the second half but still a goal and a lofted ball upto ramires doesnt make him our best playr last night! We have to move on ffs and its time we let meireles or josh settle in the team instead of bowing to media pressure...

I think first half his performance mirrored the teams average performance. I thought he was good defensively, but offensively the whole team struggled because mata, malouda and Torres weren't making runs and proper movement off the ball.

Last night, not just for Frank but the entire team except Kalouda, was kind of like mediocre sex. It's better than no sex at all but it wasn't earth shattering either. Team wasn't playing like sh*t but they weren't quite clicking either. First half of the second half was good and happy for Frank. The media bs he's received in the last couple of weeks has been a little over the top. Guess that's too be expected at CFC where Torres, Terry, and Cole are regular targets (no Cole pun there).

Thought Frank had a very solid second half and the goal was an added plus.

Media? More like his own "supporters"!

It's as if the 170+ goals, countless assists & consistent performances never happened.

Just like to add the 349 appearances for the Blues as well. Dude is a football genius & I mean that as an obsolete fact. I wouldn't be surprised if no one else could wear #8 for this club after Supa leaves. This guy will be hard to replace & IMHO Luka won't be able to wear Supa's shoes.

Catch 22 for super Frank at the mo, he needs to find some consistency but to do that he has to play & unfortunately for Frank he is no longer untouchable. That said I thought he had a decent game last night & certainly didn't deserve to be substituted.

One thing I will add is Frank is a consummate professional, instead of throwing his toys out of the pram ala Tevez, he done extra training, praised the club & fans, respected AVB's decision - just the sought of reaction you would expect from a great player, his self drive & determination to get back in the side is an example to all young players but especially Tevez.

The media circus surrounding our club is a complete joke but like Torres, I hope Frank gets the opportunitys to prove them wrong.

Come on.

Players shouldn't be picked on reputation.

So, you think he should always be in the starting 11?

No but the media would have him retire immediately and claim that he no longer has a place at chelsea. He still has a lot to give to the team, his experience alone is a great weapon. He should be part of our rotation in the midfield just like everybody else; He should start in some matches and be benched for others. I think he showed in Valencia that if he is rested for a game, he can perform well in the next.

My response was to Gil's use of Lampard's past accomplishments to justify his starting place now.

Obsolete? How is that fact obsolete? :D It is a pretty pertinent fact, if you ask me!
