By looking at plays like this:

Funny da messiah gets a free pass when we speak about playing for one's nats. I saw The Real Ronaldo do good for Brazil. Same w/ Ronaldinho. What about Zindane??? Did we not see him lead France to Glory 10 years ago?? So I you want to anoint da messiah as the best you ever saw, then go ahead it's your right. Just don't expect everyone to jump aboard.

That's why I said he is one of the best who played this game. That means he is as good as those players.

Ronaldo was a far better player, Serie A was a superior league and his side didn't get to play by a different rule set than their opponents. Messi is obviously a top talent but I don't put him above other elites like Cristiano, Drogs or Eto'o. These guys have won domestic titles in much more competitive leagues and won CL while competing in those domestic leagues. La Liga is soft and Barca gets protected like crazy, their players can coast through games barely being pushed. I think a lot of players that aren't seen as elite would put up elite numbers and look the part if they were popped into the barca squad.

The difference between Messi and the obvious greats, ie. Maradona, Pele, Eusebio, Ronaldo, Zidane et al., is that he has yet to make the same impact at international level. I appreciate many view things such as the UCL as a more difficult competition, but the complete footballer should star for club and country.

This is pure ignorance!

How can you say that when Ronalda played in the EPL, rip teams and went to Madrid to do the same?

How can you say its soft when Silva and Mata played at Valencia? Great players, good team, but Real and Barcelona are out of this world.

Now these two players are cracks in EPL!

I thought you've been here long enough to realise the repeating the same point over and over and over and over and over again doesn't wok on us. Providing better arguments and explaining your view is usually the shorter and more efficient way.

Ok international lvl ain't what it is anymore!

The last great lvl do you saw great matches was in world cup 94.

You can add 98 if you want for sympathetic reasons, but every year after that, it has taken a toll in decline.

Before, the WC was one of the most look forward competition by people, cause it was the best matches ever seen in the face of the planet.

Holland, Brazil, Italy, and much more where among the team that livened the competition.

Now in 2010, the lvl of competition was just a shade of the former glory of itself.

And this is Spain, which team is mainly made up of Barcelona players.

Today national don't exist!

It is there for only the pride of the country, cause as far as seeing a spectacle of this sport you wont.

What are you on about? International level is much more competitive football than 2 team La Liga. So there you go, the "best player in the world" has never played in even a top 3 league in the world. What a joke. The hero worship of these continental players is ludicrous.

So this is your argument to give Da Messiah a free pass??? So we should cheapen the performances of The Great Ronaldo, The Great Zindane, The Great Ronaldinho, because Da Messiah can't lead Argentina to victory??? I am sure if Da Messiah would have lead Argentina to Glory this summer, you wouldn't be typing that. The funny thing is that you are head over heels for El Loco Bielsa, but the last great feat he accomplished was making Chile more competitive. Without the International Comps, you would have never heard of homie. So give it a rest. Yes, Messi is Great for Barca, but he is not for Argentina. So please stop saying he is up there w/ The aforementioned Awesome players, because they could perform at a high level for CLUB & COUNTRY.
