I was at school, when i arrived home i just seen my mother was glued to the TV and i thought that was not normal as she does not watch much telly.

I was on my way from a training session, with all the guys in the car we were listening to the car radio when the news came out.

As I am typing this, I just realised when the attacks were in London, I was in the car as well when it came out.

Oddly enough though, I remember the day.. probably due to people's reactions.

i was on-duty escorting one of my clients on a holiday to southern ireland, in a small town in county Wexford called Wellington bridge. we were about to go for a drive after a cup of tea but ended up being glued to that then on the t.v for the best part of the day. the client used to go to bed at 7.05pm every night. so then it was just me and my female co-worker,started a bottle of wine,which led to another..because well just like every decent human being that day, we were deeply disturbed by it.

i guess taken over by how disturbed we were and then a bit drunk..we ended up spending the night together....i didn`t find out till the next day that she was a married woman. eeeeekkk...something i would have never done if i had known. but was too late and we ended up being together,she left her husband and we stayed together for 4 and a half years . not something i`m proud of but at the time at best i was gonna be called back to go to war ,at worst the end of the world was beginning.

it`s strange but usually the years since big events happen fly by and you`d find yourself saying "was that really 10 years ago when that oil tanker sunk" etc..as it would seem to Whizz by..

the ten years since 9/11 seem like an almost entire lifetime away for me tho...i remember everything like it happened yesterday but yesterday seems so verly long ago.

I was just home from school, getting ready to watch power rangers. My mother got a call from my father who was out finalising his hackney license (probably not the best decision looking back) to switch to one of the news channel's. Like most I didn't understand the magnitude of what happened, one thing that sticks out in my mind though is ten year old me thinking about being in New York three weeks prior

Was at school. It was my first day of year 10 and wow i was 14 . Got home and my Dad had the news on and we were glued to it for hours, it was insane. We still have the 10 page spread from September 12th 2001 from the newspaper the next day.

Will never forget that day.

Was about to travel out of town and was packing my bags when my dad called me. Was 18 back then and it was disturbing. I couldnt help but think about what it must feel to be on that plane.

I was 8 was oblivious to it all -- i was at my mates, just playing innocently as it was reported in the background. I have always remember feeling really disturbed by it, even though i didn't really understand what had happened. I think it all clicked in the next day at school having a minute silence. Really disturbing. As for the London Bombings, i was at school and read about it on the BBC website -- i was literally speechless and i think i wept a tear.

At school in year 6 10 years old, i was walking home and my mate came out and told me about it, I didn't really understand what he was saying until I went home & put the TV on.

Senior year in H.S. at Brooklyn, NY.

Crazy day it was. Some kids going nuts, other kids throwing crap out of the window.

I just left home earlier and watch news all day.

Soon after that, i decided to join the US Army....

I was working at the time for a taxi company. Word came through and we had madness on the rest of the day because of the airport runs we were doing that obviously flights were effected etc...

Had people actually phoning up and shouting at me because there flight had been cancelled. Some people I just don't get

I was at home with my children (who were almost 1 and 4 at the time). We lived in Erie, PA about 3 miles from an airport and about 200 miles north of where the plane went down in PA. I had just logged on to messenger and a friend asked if I knew what happened in NY with the plane, so I turned on the news to tell her. We both had thought it would be a little plane that had flown in to the tower. Neither of us were prepared for the shock that it was a passenger jet. We spent the rest of the morning chatting and keeping each other calm (my friend was in boston). There was a very tense amount time when the plane had turned back and was over Western PA, because we didn't know where exactly and for all we knew it could be over Erie. It crashed about 200 miles south of us, but even that was too close. I had friends that worked in the towers who miraculously were either out of town or not at work yet. I spent the morning checking in with friends (when I could get thru) and sending lots of emails to check if everyone was okay.

I remember after ward a neighbor gave me crap because I didn't have my TV on the news all the time. I was shocked because I didn't think my 4 year old needed to see the images over and over. It was hard enough to explain to him what happened in a way he could understand and not end up afraid of flying or skyscrapers! The other memory that will forever be etched in my brain is the lack of planes flying into the airport and how creepy that seemed. The airport nearby was one that is used by the military for landing practice so they would fly over, touch down at the airport and then circle around and do it again. It seemed too quite with out those noises.

Scary to be in the midst of it -and the no fly policy must have been strange with the lack of noise. Planes were grounded here as well if I remember rightly -they were convinced Canary Wharf was next.

Agree about the kids -when I got home it was on live on at least two channels, and my kids were 3 (twins). They were resilient though trying to reassure their mum, who was crying ''Dont worry mum, planes often fly into buildings''

Kids are amazing It was on all stations in the US except for PBS, Disney and Nick. At least someone had some sense that kids didn't need to be exposed to the news all the time.
