Only real competition I remember was Δech-Courtois for one year and Δech-Cudicini for some years when Carlo was at the top and Δech maybe still wasn't. Casillas - Lopez for one year too. All of that cases resulted of one GK backing off, except Cudicini who accepted being back-up.
