Marko told to kicker that he doesn't want to leave Chelsea at the end of the season

http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/intligen/startseite/586344/artikel_lockruf-aus-der-bundesliga_marin-sagt-nein.html

Why would he want to leave? He gets paid a good salary, lives in a great city and plays for a team with a squad so small that no matter how bad he is he will get games. Oh and he will get some medals every now and again.

He's living the life.

Because he isn't even on the bench and i don't think he is a money grabber like malouda

You think he gives a shit about that? What's the alternative? Go play for a poor team where you will have to stay fit and perform? Why give up coasting at Chelsea for that sort of pressure? Marin is here to stay until his contract has run out.

Oh and Malouda isn't a money grabber. Chelsea weren't forced to give him the contract they did. He has every right to see out his contract. He was a very good player for us and has done more for this club than Marin can ever dream of doing.

This. No reason to leave.

Obviously Chelsea weren't 'forced' into giving Malouda the contract...but based on his performances in the previous season, the club wanted to keep him.

No-one could predict that Malouda would be a rubbish player after signing the new contract.

If Malouda did care about more than money, he would of taken a pay cut and joined Lyon or one of the Brazilian clubs that wanted him.

But, he didn't. All three transfer deals broke down due to 'excessive' wage demands. Conclusion: He's a money grabber

Maybe Malouda wanted to still play for big European team? Maybe he got told by his French manager that if he moves to Brasil or Arab country, he will not be choosen? Maybe he think Chelsea can still win Premier League et cetera and that is why he did stay?

I think the expression is 'do not judge the book by the cover'.

No. All transfer deals broke down because those clubs couldn't afford to pay him what he currently earns. Why should he take a pay-cut? You wouldn't leave millions on the table so why should he? Why do we judge footballers to standards we wouldn't apply to ourselves?

Malouda made the right choice for him and his family.

He gets paid 100k a week to train with the U21s a few times a week. Not ideal but I know I'd take that for a year, he's already proved himself for Chelswa.
