Marko Marin

Agreed - he can also score as well - he scored a few in Pre-Season and looked dangerous...

I love how he's been written off so quickly.... Can't wait for him to get a run of games and shove that bullshit back down 'our so called fans' throats... :)

The real disappointment yesterday was for about 80 minutes whenever the team tried to play wide, the end crosses were woeful. Azpilicueta did very well running the flank, but he couldn't put a ball with either any trajectory or power, or sometimes both. When Marin came on, his first cross found a fine Ba head!

Marin is a proper winger. He's smart. He doesn't just run the channel and cross it, he allows players to gather inside but cutting inside and holding the ball. He should see some more game time against opposition like this, because direct football doesn't work, taking advantage of width does.

I hope Rafa is planning to use him at least in Jan as a replacement for Moses's direct style of play.

Those who have written him off, had already done so when we first signed him and were just looking for an excuse to say they knew he would not work out.

Agree - look at the patience shown with Torres - if Marin had 1/10th of that support it would be nice.

Is he a new Messi - NO!

Can he work hard, play well for Chelsea - YES!

We gotta give him a chance, I think he prefers the LEFT - but Cole + Hazard starting to build a relationship there, so put him on the RIGHT and let him and Azpi get a relationship going...

Also - he is good at tracking back and 'nicking' the ball - apart from his crazy tackle (adrenalin rush) - he's been good...

I'm not sure about that. He's probably as direct as Moses, but what you get with Moses is not only the work rate, but a physical presence that tracks back and defends. Marin can't tackle for shit (and i'm not just talking about vs. QPR), which is why I think we're only going to see him coming off from the bench as an impact player.

Agreed. You need to give players some time to show what they can do. Marin has had what, one Premier League start? I think we need to play him fairly regularly while Moses is away because he provides real width and he crosses into the box much more regularly than anyone else we have which, I think, suits Ba and frees up Hazard and Mata to play more centrally. Maybe he won't ever be good enough for Chelsea, but it's way too early to make that call.

I'm not concerned about Marko going up against the bus of Stoke, he is nimble enough to draw fouls and frustrate the defenders. Like many said he's trying to get back into the flow after a long injury layoff and I'll always pick him over Oscar on the wing. Of course Rafa will likely select Ramires out there instead. And combine Luiz with Lampard against Stoke. I don't see why Marko shouldn't take off with a good run and Moses comes back to sub for him for a change. Afterall Marko is more gifted just needs the minutes.

Yep, he's even better than Moses i reckon, just needs game time.

I agree, but injuries and suspensions happen as do ACONs. If he keeps fit, I reckon he starts at least 10 games a season and make regular sub appearances.

I don't believe the rumours of him going on loan, especially with Piazon looking to be loaned out as well. Unless we're buying someone new, but that wouldn't really make any sense imo, because Marko is still yet to be given a proper chance. Buying another winger / attacking midfielder is fine by me but we really shouldn't be getting rid of anyone, at least before next summer.

CSKA Moscow are reportedly interested in taking him on loan.

Loaning him out now would be a joke when our squad is already thin enough as it is!!

I think we might sign someone else.
