Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas

We have been working for 8 years to build a world wide reputation and fan base . This current soap opera must be damaging the project

far more than than a poor season's results. We can tour wherever but new fans won't be attracted to a club acting out a farce.

When fans stop caring the club is FINISHED

The worst thing the board did was giving AVB a 3 years contract. Even Guardiola at Barcelona never had a contract longer than 1 year.

After this bad season the logic thing to do was not making another contract, as simple as that. Now if he gets the axe we will listen the same bullshit about players power, instability, about how many managers Roman sacked, about how much money the club wasted with managers, about how classless the club is...

wtf?

Is this guy a good source?

I don't know, but i doubt it.

If it's real, Sky and BBC would be reporting it by now.

Also, can i ask you a question?

How come you've changed your mind about AVB?, if I'm not mistaken you wanted him sacked, now it seems you dont.

AVB said that they have changed because they need to get that confidence and that belief back with good results. When Chelsea played 433, there was more passing between the lines, from the defence to the two central midfielders. More risk, but now they have lost confidence, so they need mobility between the lines, that's why Mata's playing there. Also because defensively, they had many problems on the left w/ Mata, Lampard and Cole. Malouda played on the left v Napoli because of Maggio. AVB thinks they have a problem on the left, they need a winger. He mentioned Kalou as a player with those characteristics, but he's not part of the future because his contract is expiring. Players like Mata or Sturridge are part of the future. They asked AVB about how to win in the Premier League and how Mourinho dominated the league with a superior defending/tactical knowledge and he agreed that it gave them an advantage over the other teams. Then he mentioned City as a team doing something similar (not the same offensively) and how they are dominating too, but he isn't interested in that style. AVB wants to changed Chelsea's philosophy and he doesn't want to build a team that will only take advantage of the other team's mistakes like City do. He wants to do what they were doing early in the season again. Finally, he mentioned the importance of selling his idea to the players and how managers are sellers of ideas (he quoted Bielsa and praised Guardiola for that).

I did not change my mind about him, I'm a supporter/fan/whatever, I have passion. The board otherwise should make a rational decision. I'm not sure sacking him right now is the right decision.

I dont think staying with the same manager for years is necessarily a good thing. We have clubs like Bayern and Real Madrid that sack the managers as soon as things arent perfect and they are two of the greatest and richest clubs in the world.

Said that, I dont think we should sack him after Napolis game, because I dont like when things happen this way (win this game, or get the axe) but I dont think we should give him another season after this one.

I dont think AVB's fate is related with the players power thing, just sack this players too, problem solved. You dont have to choose between players and AVB.

A player wont be unhappy if he realizes he is on the bench because there is a so much better guy on the pitch, what make a player really unhappy (dont know if you play real football) is when you realize there is a useless player on the pitch while you are watching the game. Lampard is pissed not because he is on the bench, but because Meireles is playing while he is not, despite being our league top scorer.

I'm sure Lampard would be ok if he was not playing so many matches while our midfielder was on fire, playing a really good football. But seriously @Terry07, Lampard is a smart 33 years old player used to big matches, AVB is a 33 years old guy that never played professional football in his third year as "manager". I'm not sure AVB knows more about football than Lampard, are you sure about that?

Sacking him if we lose to Napoli is harsh, lets be fair Napoli have better players than us, it's not like we are gonna control Lavezzi, Cavani, Hamsik, Inler (if that's his name) anyway... if it's a shocking loss like 5-0 or something horrid i don't even want to imagine then yes he has to get out of the club, but sacking him over a stupid 1-0 or 2-1 loss isn't right, it's not going to be an easy game, it's not even gonna be a tricky game, it's going to be hard no matter what.

Plus who on earth do we have to bring in?.

If AVB gets sacked I'll lose all the faith on Roman and on this club.

Same here.

It will be just too much for me. I know its sounds over dramatic, but if i know myself im pretty much sure that the club will be

slightly less important for me in the near future after Boas will get sacked (if he will). And i know its only Abramovich's decision,

but he's running the club right now so you cant separate the two...

I think many fans might think like that and who could blame them.

One thing is for sure, AVB is not as confident he will stay for another season as he was before:

"What can happen now? One of two things, either the continuation of the project with total belief or this pattern of behaviour pattern until now; we do not know. We do not know if it will be tomorrow, if it will be in two years or three, it depends on his understanding of the current landscape."
