Very true. in 5 years we may have a squad as below

In goalkeepers: Cech, Courtouis, Turnbull

Defense: Luiz, Chalolbah, Ivanovic, Rajkovic, Bertand, PVA, We need a right back, Billy Clifford.

Midfield: Ramirez, Mikel, Romeu, McEchran, Kakuta, Modric, Connor Clifford.

Forwards: Lukaku, Studge, Hazard, Piazon, De Bruyn, and a Striker

aren't we rushing ahead of our time with all the De Bruyne and Hazard thing?

Well it falls down to last minute spending as i was thinking.

But even with the last minute spending Chelsea will become title contenders again, cause it would have been hard to do it with Kalou, Anelka and Malouda.

Tbh I don't see how Mata is different from Malouda apart from being 8 years younger.

Both aren't your typical pacy wingers who are direct and neither are they any good at dribbling past the defenders.

We needed Hazard or Gotze. I don't believe we missed Turan who was much cheaper

^^ I second that. I would rather see Hazard than Mata. We so desperately need someone who an beat 2-3 ppl with their dribbling. Mata doesn't do that. Im not saying he is bad, but Hazard defeinitely over Mata anyday.

I think you have him confused with someone else because if there is one thing i am 100% sure of, it is that the above description can't be for Juan Mata .

He is kind of right though, mata isn't a typical pacy winger, like Hazard or Neymar. But one thing Mata can do is dribble and he is good at beating players. He is also a good passer, and crosser. But i would still rather Hazard, but both are great.

Mata has some very good pace , his comparison with malouda is a total nonsense , they have 2 totally different games and btw Messi , Ronaldo , Neymar are not "typical wingers" , Mata is more of a typical winger than any of those.

You're right. Messi is more of a second striker, Ronaldo is a utility player on attacking front and Neymar is listed as forward in wikipedia... so none of them are pure wingers, Ronaldo probably the one being the closest. And I actually like that Mata isn't one dimensional, that he can play on wings and in centre, shows some versatility and that he has different qualities... hopefully he has intelligence to play only one of the roles he's assigned, not drift out of it always.

I never compared him to Malouda, and he isn't the fastest winger in comparison to Hazard and Neymar. What i meant by typical winger is just that Neymar and Hazard are more often going to try and beat a player with their pace and skill. I don't think Mata is that type of player but i may be wrong.
