I don't think so. I'm pretty sure they are submitted before the season and any new signings are given whatever vacant numbers are available.
-
We desperately need to sign another striker now Nando has left. This guy is proven in the Premier League. Fantastic signing as a back up to Diego imo.
-
Boulahrouz and Sidwell. Lmfaoo i remember that. What the fuck was going on there?? Hahahahaha!!
-
I don't think he would be allowed to change number now. I think they get submitted to the Premier League before the season starts so even if he wanted to, he would have to wait until next summer. Regarding his injury though... fucking brilliant news!! With Torres now gone (l know he wouldn't have been much help anyway) that would have left us with only Didier. Not good. Once again we are incredibly short in this area. I though this was rectified at the start of the summer. We need an extra striker urgently. If Diego gets injured we are in shit street!!

Woah dude. I wasn't slating the guy. I was just explaining why I mistook his join date for 2014 instead of 2012. I didn't call him a 'freak' either so i'm not sure what you were quoting there
-
Agreed!!
-
Shit.... his joined date is August 2012. Where has he been hiding then? He only has 30 odd posts. I just assumed it was August 2014. I haven't seen this picture.... Some men can be complete freaks i'm afraid. Give us a bad name. We are getting wayyyy off topic here :-D

He is new, doesn't understand the rules around here. Let him have this one. We can stone him if it happens again though. But i agree with Viper
-
He signed a 5 and a half year deal when he joined

Check out the first few pages on this thread compared to the last few pages. who would have thought that way back then!! Also, he scored on his last ever appearance for us #cfclegend

Forum. In. Meltdown

That's fucking bullshit. After all the shit he has put us through he then comes up with this little chestnut. Can't we just sack him for poor perfromance or something
-
What the fuck is this severance pay?? Since when has this ever been the case in any transfer because i have never heard of it.....
-
So sad it hasn't worked out for Nando here. I don't think i have ever been so excited for a new signing the night he joined us. I have willed him on, begged him to succeed more than every other player before him. Unfortunately it wasn't to be. There was the odd flash of brilliance from him and some memories he leaves us with. A hattrick against QPR. That fantastic Europa League campaign. And nobody will forget that incredible night in Barcelona. So thanks for the memories Nando, i'll genuinely be sad to see you go.

Hmm... If they knocked Steaua out they must be half decent. I hope for your sake we draw them so you can watch us! :-)
-
City in pot 2.... really?? City have been in the CL 3 seasons got knocked out the group stage twice and the last 16 last season. Also who the fuck are Ludogorets Razgard??
-
Beat me to it lol. I was at that game, the Carlo one I mean. 4-0 win, Kalou, Malouda, Deco and Drogba if I remember right.

Lmao!! This thread has gone wayyyy off topic

@zolayes Yes, saddened is a better way to put it. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/08/lord-attenborough-1923-2014.html Fantastic article on the Chelsea website about the man. I never realised how influential he was in saving The Bridge. We have him to thank for so much. A stand named after him would be a great honour for a man we can probably never thank enough.

Jose will try and do a number on Everton here. A much more defensive minded team for me. Maybe a 4-3-3 to add an extra man in midfield. Tibo Iva, Cahill, JT, Azpi Rami, Cesc, Matic Schurrle, Costa, Hazard Ramires legs in midfield will be crucial against a hard working Everton side. And if we get a goal up Willian will also definitley be seen for his work rate. A tough match as always up at Goodison but i think our extra little bit of class will tell.
-
To be fair though it wasn't really that bad. Yes the tempo dropped from the 1st half but think about it, it was the opening game of the season. It isn't going to be all guns blazing first game. Remember we have a number of players who have not long come back from their holiday and are maybe not fully fit. We were also 3-1 up and didn't need to up the tempo. Apart from 1 good save, Tibo had nothing to do. We were comfortable.

Fantastic 1st half performance. Delighted Costa scored. 2nd goal was simply beautiful, not a goal you would usually associate with a Chelsea side. The most pleasing thing for me was the 1st two goals and i will explain why. Goal 1 - effectively a tap in. What we lacked last season as we all know was a goalscorer. Imagine last season with Torres up top. He would have either panicked and shanked it wide or not even been in that position. With Costa it looks like we finally have the guy to get those 'strikers finishes' Goal 2 - the other thing we lacked last season, a guy who could unlock a defence. What a fantastic pass from Cesc! Inch perfect and took out the entire Burnley defence. Both goals show we have brought exactly what we need. What we lacked last season we now have. The future looks very, very bright! '
