Salah in an interview back in November after he was named player of the year in Switzerland «Ich hoffe, dass ich irgendwann in England spiele. Irgendwann will ich in einem der besten Teams der Welt spielen. Meine Favoriten sind Real Madrid, Manchester United oder Chelsea.» "Someday, I hope I will play in England. I would want to play for the best teams in the world. My preferences are Real Madrid, Manchester United or Chelsea." An English-based Egyptian football website called King Fut reported that Liverpool have already booked his flight for todays medical (not kidding!) and they also report in their latest article that Chelsea have launched a late €15M bid and the move could be hijacked. "... but Mohamed saw the light..." hahah unbelievable

I'm all for him leaving even if it's United, at the end of the day there is no point in keeping an unhappy player at the club knowing that Jose won't ever use him again in that "10" role. And you can't bench a player like Mata either. He simply does not fit Jose's style of play. But I think this would be my reaction finding out we have no pre-agreement for Rooney in the summer, in case United decides it's time for him to go. Not because he's going to United, just because of that Rooney saga in the last summer and the way they treated us. We should put up a fight, ask some insurance on Rooney. https://vine.co/v/hivx09p5xIu

Mata goes for €45M. €15M for Salah and you'll still have €30M to spend. Go get Shaw. How much can he go for? I think €30M plus some €5M in bonuses would do the trick. Maybe add Bert/van Aanholt to that deal?

I don't get it, why is that lost? You would have: Torres, Eto'o and Ba as CF Hazard and Schurrle for the LW Willian and Salah for the RW Oscar, Rami, Matic, Lamps, Essien, Mikel (Baker) for DM/CM/CAM Ash, JT, Cahill, Luiz, Ivanovic, Azpilicueta, Ake and Kalas in defence Cech, Schwarzer GK This is a 23-man-squad and you would absolutely do no harm to the in-depth quality as you sell two back-up players, Mata and De Bruyne and get a starter (Matic) and other back-up. I'd would like to have a proper winger (Salah) as a back-up for another winger (Willian), rather than having a playmaker (Mata) as a back-up for Willian. It is as simple as that. Even if Hazard, Willian, Oscar, Rami, Matic and Torres would be injured at the same time you would have a proper back-up for every one of them in terms of position on the pitch (LW, RW etc). Not the same quality, but there is no team in this world to have 11 world class starters and 11 world class players as back-up. How many times have you seen Mata playing the number "10" role this season? Even when Oscar was missing, Jose played Mata as the RW. He can't be a winger, he has no pace and he can't track back. And unfortunately for him this is the only position available in wich he can play in Jose's team. And if you think for a moment - Juan Mata is a 40 mil Quid worth unhappy playmaker, acting as a back-up for a winger that Jose can't seem to fancy playing in Oscar's role even when Oscar is missing! And De Bruyne was nowhere to be seen. He couldn't even make the bench. Now my question is - what is wrong with this moves, besides one of them going to United? They were simply surplus to the requirements and we have to get used to it from now on as Jose is in charge and let him act as a fucking MANAGER. He wants Mata and De Bruyne go? Then let them go. I don't fucking care as long as we're through to the next phase of UCL, two points away from Arsenal and in contenion for the FA Cup. Add to that the team is playing better and better by every week. Without Mata having any influence. This is Mourinho's type of team - robust team with pacey wingers. Good old 04-06' again! I'd rather be happy we have Matic for the pivot now than thinking about letting a bench player go. A guy that we will eventually replace with a proper winger.
-
The thing is that you're talking about two different philosophies - Jose is using a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 formation with only one striker and two wingers, whereas Pellegrini fancies a 4-4-2 formation where Silva, Nasri, Navas, Aguero, Negredo and Dzeko are actually playing week-in, week-out. City's having a great squad, but on the bench there is no player to be similar to Mata in terms of quality. Pellegrini won't bench Silva, Aguero, Negredo, Yaya, Kompany all of a sudden. If he would, than you would have the same scenario as the one with Mata. None of those players will accept to stay on the bench. Ok, maybe on, two or three games, but not six months. This is why Mata can't be a Chelsea player anymore and this is why you can't bring a player similiar to Mata in terms of quality to have him as a back-up for Willian. And if Oscar gets injured, then Lamps will step up, or Willian will go in the center and Salah on the right wing. And calling back Moses would be like having no one as a back-up for Willian. He wanted to go to Liverpool, let him rott there on the bench. He's been in horrible form this season, I would not want him nowhere near this team. It's funny cause you would take back Moses in a blink, but you would not fancy a move for Salah, like Chelsea would spend your money. Jose will be in for a world class striker in the summer regardless of whether he'll spend 11-12 mil Quid on Salah or not. And one more thing - calling back those guys at Vitesse would be a big mistake. Vitesse is having a great season and Piazon and Atsu are playing week-in, week-out. Bertrand Traore will be in that team soon and imagine what would mean for Piazon, van Aanholt, Atsu, Traore to win that title. And add to that Vitesse has the chance go to Champions League in case of a good season and I'm pretty sure Chelsea will be looking to send them back there along with maybe another one of two guys from the academy. I wouldn't mind seeing Piazon, Atsu, Traore, maybe Omeruo and, let's say, Swift/Loftus-Cheek going back there and playing Champions League and fighting again for the championship. Lots of people moaning about this link with Vitesse, but it seems that has started working in the end. I'd love to see those guys playing too, but now it's not the time for them to be wasted on the bench. You were talking about season being long and squad depth and this is why we need a player like Salah on the bench. And the price doesn't sound ridiculous either. They want 18 mil, but I'm sure they will settle for 14-15 in the end.

United knocked out by Sunderland and Jose calling the deal off would just be

I think you're overreacting and you also forget Jose bought Matic to replace the spot left open when De Bruyne went to Wolfsburg. Now we have Mikel as a back-up for Matic, Essien for Rami, Lamps for Oscar, Schurrle for Hazard and Jose's looking for a back-up for Willian. How many attacking midfielders you want on the bench. Jose has made his point clear - Hazard, Oscar and Willian are his starters, you can't have world-class players on the bench. Mata is world-class, he can't stay on the bench. Also, you can't bring Reus or Cristiano to replace him and act as Willian's back-up. This is what Juan Mata is for Chelsea right now - a back-up for the RW (Willian). Nothing more. And you have to bring a back-up to replace him. Jose has found Salah as the answer to this question and why not? He is young, talented, his work-rate is immense and I'm pretty sure he won't mind staying on the bench until he gets accustomed to the EPL.
-
Fuck yeah! We got plenty, half of the country would go into that category haha
-
And if Sunderland goes through I'll bring the hoes! Romania's finest!

Apparently there are ongoing talks between Chelsea and Basel for Salah. €10M plus bonus Chelsea's first offer, Basel wanting €18M Di Marzio reporting it Gianluca Di Marzio Verified account@dimarzioToday @chelseafc talked to #Basilea for #Salah: offer is €10M plus bonus. Basilea asked €18M

After saying he dreams of playing for Arsenal and that he fits to their philosophy? No, thanks, I'd rather have Diego Costa, Cavani or just stick with Torres and Eto'o until the end of season. But I still can't believe we're letting Mata go to United w/o swapping him for Rooney or having at least an agreement for him in the summer...
-
Fuuuuuuuck no, c'mon PSG you can do it!

https://vine.co/v/hivx09p5xIu my reaction when all this will be over and he'll go to manure

Horrible injury for Falcao today in the French Cup against an amateur side or something like that! He could miss the World Cup in Brasil... At least now we know a name we won't chase with the money we get from Mata. I must admit I was thinking Jose would go for Falcao (amonst others) with that money. Feel sorry for the colombian, such a pitty footballers get injured that bad against waiters, hotel receptionists or fishermen...
-
i swear i cant stop laughing hahahahahahahahha
-
It's on, fuck... IN PSG WE TRUST!!!!!!!!!!!!! C'MON YOU FUCKERS, AT LEAST GIVE UNITED A FIGHT FOR JUAN
-
Or it's just Jose and his mind games, allowing Mata a day off the training pitch, letting the story flourish a bit more knowing he's playing United for fools and eventually he'll call the deal off in the last minute?

http://www.mundodeportivo.com/20140122/atletico-madrid/el-chelsea-planea-un-doble-intercambio-con-el-atletico_54399403859.html Mundo Deportivo saying Chelsea is thinking about proposing Atleti a swap - Lukaku, Courtois (plus some money if needed) for Diego Costa, Filipe Luis. Simeone willing to let those two go and he is interested in Courtois, and Mata too. Why not Mata (valued at £40M) + some money maybe (£5M) for Diego costa (£38M, his release clause) and Filipe Luis (valued at £17M) Or is that Jose wants to get rid of Lukaku and Courtois and in exchange for them he wants two starters without spending a fortune? Filipe at LB (#2 tackler in La Liga this season, by the way) and Diego Costa CF? And those £40M he'll get for Mata will go for JT's replacement? Mangala or any other highly rated CB?
-
and as a winger too he is a "10", not a fucking winger, you don't pay 40 mil Quid for a playmaker just to waste him on the wings. fucking redcafe and fucking man u fans, they don't even know his natural position. Hope this transfer story will last a bit long so that Jose can call it off in the last minute.
-
I think this is a rhetorical question. Of course he has played there before. He was a defensive right winger in his Benfica days, just when Jesus came in 2009. He implemented that 4-1-3-2 formation with Javi Garcia as a DM, Rami as a RW, Di Maria LW, Aimar the playmaker and Saviola and Cardoso the two center forwards. He's played there for Chelsea several times too. Now if you say he looks bad when playing there (wich is the other meaning I understand from your question), than this is another topic of discussion. But, yes, Rami is a winger too.
-
I think we're pretty much covered if we think about the way Chelsea is playing right know, this 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 formation. We have: DM/CM/AM - Matic, Rami, Essien, Mikel, Lamps, Oscar (Baker and David Luiz can step up too at DM/CM and Willian and Hazard at AM) LW - Hazard, Schurrle (Willian is a natural LW and Eto'o played there for Inter) RW - Willian (Hazard, Rami, Schurrle, Oscar) Maybe there is no natural back-up for the RW, but it's not like Eden can only play as a LW, or Willian as a RW or Rami as a central midfielder, they are all versatile players that can go to different parts of the pitch without affecting their performances. I'd rather give some bench time to Charly Musonda, or Boga, to introduce them into the first team atmosphere, rather than buying someone in this transfer window.
-
Mehdi Benatia is an absolute beast! A fucking rock at the back, that Benatia - Castan partnership is unplayable. I just hope Jose keeps tabs on them, Benatia is a must in the summer if he keeps playing like this. I'd definitely think about him (amongst others) when it comes to JT's replacement.
-
He ain't going anywhere in this transfer market just because the season is long and we're in need of some back-up attacking midfielders now that De Bruyne is gone. I can't predict the future though, but I really think he'll go somewhere else in the summer. He won't get a starting spot ahead of Oscar and Willian, that I can guarantee you, but at the same time he ain't no bench player. He has to go and he will, but I feel that now it's not the time, when we're challenging for the title and FA Cup and we're through to the next phase in UCL. An injury to Oscar or Willian, God forbid, would be a big blow and we need decent replacements such as Mata and Schurrle (at least now when we're in the title race) But the funniest thing here is that, even when Chelsea is playing maybe the best football in a couple of years, some of you would sacrifice Oscar or Willian just to see their favourite player in. I do love Mata too, I'm a big fan and I enjoy watching him in action, but if something it's not broken, why fix it? Team's doing just well, we're in the title race, we're getting better and better by every day and all this w/o Mata on the pitch. He is a part of our recent history and I'm pointing to that Champions League campaing two seasons ago, but some of you must understand he didn't win that trophy by himself. The entire team won that trophy, with him being part of that beautiful story. But there's life after Mata too and we just have to watch how we're doing in this season to realize this. Jose is not a fool - he sold KDB and bought Matic, he'll sell Mata and buy a replacement, he'll get rid of Torres and Demba Ba and will bring a world-class striker. That's how it works at Chelsea. Roman is in no need of money and be sure those 37 mil quid will go somewhere else for other player. Some months ago I would have thought if someone will ofer 20-25 mil for him would be a good deal, but now, 37, oh boy, that's the real deal and allows us to go out there and bid for a world-class striker.
-
hope Nacer Kelaify, or whoever is in charge at PSG, is not banging his deluxe broads right now and reads this rumours on his funky gold made smartphone, gets mad and chooses to outbid United, or make a similar bid, why not. Or Roman could sort out something with his friend in Monaco . Can't see Jose strengthening another rival, but maybe this is a way he is showing others (PSG, Monaco, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid) Mata is available.
