The play offs for the last promotion place will be starting soon . I can appreciate the logic behind them as the keep the season meaningful for many more clubs. My thought is though that there is very little advantage for the team finishing in 3rd compared to the one finishing 6th. I would like to see a model based on the Rugby League system . would work as follows Game 1 side finishing 6 at home to side finishing 5 Game 2 side finishing 4 at home to winner of Game 1 FINAL side finishing 3rd plays winner of Game 2 either at home or Wembley. This system would reward the team finishing nearest the automatic promotion place
