when I raised the point of having a right footed right winger I was informed it was the new vogue to play a left footer on the right so he could cut in . I prefer a winger who can get outside and cross with his best foot...guess I'm old fashioned
It will be interesting to see how Sinclair and Tore progress this season . As LDN mentioned they never got a first team chance with us . The transfer of Tore poses the question "Who decided he wasn't good enough for us ?" Doubt if it was Arnnersen or he wouldnt have taken him to Hamburg ,,,Carlo ?? doubt that as well
I beieve if we had played our RESERVE team from last year including Bertrand ,, Tore and Borini they would have have beaten yesterdays opposition. Perhaps even our Youth team might have.
the bashing of Torres is pure idiocy ..So much of our chance of success depends on him ,,,so FFS get behind him and hope the midfield start to deliver a decent service ,,,I saw very little of that in the two games so far.
normally i am very optimistic but this close season I have found it impossible to view the forthcoming season with anything but fear. It started with the delay in appointing the new manager, We all thought it would be Hiddink and his transfer targets had been set in advance. I am not against Andre but the lack of urgency in bringing in what the squad patently needs is worrying. Signing expensive young players then sending them out on long loans will not do anything for this season. As each day passes our rivals are strenghtening their squads. We are playing wait and see and HOPE for the best. this is the least optimistic Ive been at the start of a season for over 10 years
OK some positives our back up keepers look to have improved Bertrand is class ,,can step in for Ashley Terry still a great leader. Zhirkov can dribble could fill the left wing berth Yossi used the ball well Drogba can still hit a great free kick Kalou showed enterprise WE CAN ONLY GET BETTER AVB MUST now realise we DO need new players
