  1. You are comparing 'real world' employee situations with a footballer?, Oh dear. If you're going down that road you will have to be more specific about which type of job and role you are referring to. Because not many situations are comparable, unless Burger King has encorporated 44k seat stadia around the fryers.
  2. Hopefully we get off to a fast start so Christensen & Baker can get a game.
  3. Lampard & Terry are part of an elite group of players who have surpassed the point where moving to a competitive rival is 'acceptable'. Throughout Frank's career he has been heralded as 'proper chels', an icon and has acknowledged this, endorsed it and alluded to it himself. He's made countless extra commerical revenue through that special 'proper chels image', via his relationship with the fans. Football is tribal, supporting 'a' particular club is for romantics.. we know 99.9% only care about money, but Lampard was one you thought had a code, a moral compass as a result of his status.
  4. AlexIsMyLilHooker's contributions in this thread thus far: Insults - 60% Off-topic conversations with other members - 30% Remarks about what real fans should feel - 5% Lampard discussion - 5% Detailed counter-arguments - 0%
  5. Jose looked genuinely gutted about the whole affair, when reporters were asking him about Lampard. Pellegrino knows where to stick the knife now, this is a psychological battle as well as it is football.
  6. NYC did not exist, Lampard signed with Man-City corp, he's not an idiot.. he knows how to read contracts, he will have known the minute he signed the deal. And that doesn't excuse the fact he said he wouldn't play against us, when it was declared. Completely different to the Batitusta situation, unless you have quotes and promises from him similar to what Lamps said.
  7. Because he wants to score against us at the Bridge, and with Pellegrino's hatred for Jose.. he'll probably start this time.
  8. So you are assuming Frank Lampard is an idiot then, NYC did not exist when he signed for them, he will have known EXACTLY what was going to happen. Did Batistuta say he would never join another italian rival?, or italian club?, did he say he wouldn't play against Fiorentina?, if not.. then it's the opposite to the Lampard situation.
  9. There is a MASSIVE difference. Lampard said he wouldn't move to another English club, when he signed for City.. he said he won't play against Chelsea. I can't remember Mourinho saying he wouldn't manage another football club ever again when he left, or maybe I missed that quote. Not that Mourinho is comparable, Lampard is an icon here/personification of the club, Jose doesn't compare.. yet.
  10. That's all well and good, but this is about whether he was 'proper chels' like JT, an image he portrayed and alluded to. How club icons really feel about the club should be judged when the money dries out, cutting the grass reveals the snakes. Frank Lampard was a wolf in John Terry clothing.
  11. . They are DIRECT rivals (THE only rivals), he hasn't gone to relegation fodder like Rio, so it's just as worse as traditional, he's effecting Chelsea. . Chelsea is a concept, it doesn't matter what our current board offered or didn't offer, his legacy.. his actions.. go beyond that. . When he scored you 'smiled'?.. YOU.. SMILED!!!???, I think instead of questioning Chelsea fans on here you should look in the mirror. . Where can he go?... hmm, maybe not sign for them in the first place! how about that, he wasn't forced, he ignored his stature at this club and chased money.
  12. Ah, so that's ok then.. you're fine with our foreign fans, as long as they're saying stuff you agree with. Where are you from again?, has the bridge moved to Scotland.
  13. The cold reality is that (most!) preppy private school types have a certain mentality drilled into them at an early age. I'm sure he had a good joke with the Bleakley about the whole affair last night and spent that arab money.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2764985/Dressed-impress-Christine-Bleakley-Frank-Lampard-don-Sunday-best-date-night.html ^ Pictures from after the game, all smiles.
  14. You don't understand what I'm referring to, in the media, in Chelsea corporate activities he was heralded in a certain special way.
  15. His legacy.. his status.. is bigger than the board, the 'suits' come and go.. it doesn't matter what are 'curent' setup did or didn't offer him, Chelsea is bigger than that, it's a concept! He did actually, in promotional and marketing material, alongside JT. Commercialism aside, he always spoke and alluded to having an affinity with the club.
  16. After this, I will always now carry with me the adage 'judge an icon when they leave the club', when the money goes.. THAT'S when you find out.
  17. "Never thought he'd play for them"?, NYC didn't exist when he signed with the City family, he will have known!, he's not an idiot. It stopped being 'a job to do' when he became the personification of Chelsea FC and an ambassador, it's a mere job for Salomon Kalou. I'm sorry but when you gain a certain status at a club you can't treat it as 'just a job' anymore. He turned his back on his own words and contradicted himself, in regards to where he would go and what he wouldn't do. Frank claimed to have an affintiy with the club but his actions spoke louder.
  18. I don't want anyone to be 'warned', I just want people to challenge an opposing argument, rather than skip around it with insults. My stance grew stronger on this subject, when I realised nobody has a good counter. Other than tripe about 'real' fans and being 'professional', like's he's a slave who was forced to sign for the City family and a team that doesn't exist yet. Frank Lampard is a wolf in John Terry clothing.
  19. Your 'arguments' are paper thin.. just cliche stuff about how real fans should feel. Try and rebuttal the points I made..
  20. AlexIsMyLilHooker has literally zero thorough arguments in Frank's defense, just insults. Compare my post on the last page (358) with what he's provided thus far.
  21. I need to be careful what I say because If I mention the word J***s it will get deleted again, what's the latin word for it?, maybe Frank will know. But yes, there is no good reason for him joining City, some people live by morals or at least have some form of code they live by.. their values etc. I thought he was in the same mould as John Terry, i.e.. he had an affinity with the club and would make post-chels career moves with that in mind. Actions speak louder than words however, I don't care what he said in his press interviews because words have little weight. Speaking of words though, he not only said he wouldn't "join another english club", he also said he would refuse to play against us. He knew exactly what he was getting himself into when he joined a club owned by City that didn't exist yet, he's not a hostage. When the AVB incident died down, we all had the Men In Black neuralizer treatment and flashed it away; Frank is a wolf in John Terry clothing.
  22. His general decision making is shocking, dwelling on the ball too, never feel confident in him making the right pass.
  23. It's a travesty Luis is being kept out.. for this guy, moving Azpi to RB was always the natural evolution of this team.
  24. And now he's a murderer too.. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/401056/Chelsea-fan-dead-Manchester-City-Frank-Lampard R.I.P
