Grant: Terry Could Have Played
misschief replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Nice gesture? The bloke's a moron. Firstly, there was no point even making these comments apart from trying to ingratiate himself to England supporters. Secondly, openly saying he's prepared to take those sort of risks with our captain, particularly when our other CD is injured already, just shows how little thought he puts into it. -
You've got to look at injuries to an extent because we seriously havent got anyone decent as cover for the first team. JT and Ferdinand out so we have what as cover? Campbell and Lescott - do me a favour. Lescott aint even that great at club level imo and Campbell's just living in the past. Crouch? Good enough? I hardly think so, I dont care what anyone else says he just aint good enough as a lone front man - and with the exception of the goal, he darent take a bloody shot on. And as much as I've always preferred Bridge to Cole defensively, Cole would've been a better option to have Wednesday night. No doubt about it, the 'big' players didn't perform but there's a reason they can all perform for their clubs and not for their country - and I don't believe all that bollocks about money motivating them. Lampard having missed a penalty previously, being booed everytime he pulls on his boots and knowing he'd get hung if he missed, still has the bottle to step up and take a penalty when we're 2-0 down - is that because he's motivated by money or because he'll put his arse on the line for England's sake? The reason they don't do the business for their country is down to shit tactics and a lack of leadership - bad enough they had to put up with McClaren Wednesday night, but when they really needed a decent captain to rally them, the vice captain went missing.
-
That'd be a first.
-
Our players werent up to much last night, but then they were no better or worse than players from any other club. As usual big game, key players out and we just dont have good enough players in reserve - doesnt bode well for England's future really. As for saint scouser, a PI would've had a job finding him in that game - vice captain, my arse!

Abramovich Snaps After Russia Blow It
misschief replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
So he throws big tips about, big deal. Hope he's happy now he wins both ways - Russia through and Chelsea players getting a nice summer break. -
Bloody annoying when an underqualified manager is appointed. They have stuck a roof on it but what difference would that have made? It only rained for an hour before the game. We didnt miss out on qualifying because of last nights result, its the rest of the shit results during the campaign that left us in that position in the first place. McClaren's appointment was a joke from the start and he's probably done even worse than most of us expected him to - the FA should carry the can for that. With the players at our disposal, England should not be missing out on qualification - its a total fucking embarrassment. Ok, you could argue the players havent performed but its the managers job to get a performance out of them and have the balls to kick out those that dont. Tactically, McClaren has been bloody clueless. I know our keepers would give sammy the seal a run for its money, but putting Carson into a big game like that ffs? Frank Carson would've done a better job. Especially with Campbell and Lescott in front of him, inept just doesnt cover it. And Im not even going to go into taking Cole off. And who was the biggest twat of the night? Me - wanting to fight half the crowd.

Ballack Hopes To Return Next Month
misschief replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I was just about to call you all the two-faced gits under the sun after everything you said last season. Personally, he pissed me right off last season. Apart from the odd game, his heart just didnt look in it to me and that was reflected in his football. I think he got away with it because all the attention was focused on Sheva not performing. I'd like to think he can still do a good job for us though if he's motivated by more than money. -
I heard on the radio earlier tonight he's definitely out for this one - thank god.
-
All I know is if anyone near me starts slagging him off I'll probably deck the fucker.

Ballack Hopes To Return Next Month
misschief replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
We'll be lucky if he plays this season at this bloody rate, wonder if he still thinks he made the right decision going off and having it done by his own 'experts'. -
I couldn't care less who was playing who as long as the results went in our favour and I didn't have to rip up my ticket for Wednesday. Skin of our teeth as usual.

Makelele Unsure On Future/Deal with Grant?
misschief replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
He won't stay, he's done his time at Chelsea but I'm glad he decided to stay and see out this season. He's been a fantastic and loyal servant for us and deserves a proper send off at the end of the campaign. -
As much as I desperately want England to win I really don't want JT playing in this one. Trouble is, he's one of the few who doesn't distinguish between club and country. His loyalty's to be commended I suppose but it don't help Chelsea if he ends up out again.
-
Lazy sod, get searching. Only joking, you're a star.
-
I don't have a problem with him being 4th choice - as long as he doesnt actually get to play. He's a liability.
-
Neither did I, what's he done? Bloody good job JT's back if thats the case. Not too bothered about Cole tbh, Ive always preferred Bridge defensively anyway.
-
Some footballers are Prima Dona's what you gonna do about it? We've had the odd stroppy bitch in the past, but it wont be an issue if Grant's as good a manager as he's meant to be. Fact is, he's shown he can play in the premiership with the sort of players around him at Spurs - now imagine him with the sort of players we've got - could be worth the risk.
-
If the new manager's as good as he keeps saying he is, he'll have worked out we need to replace Ben Haim. He's just not good enough for us so hopefully we're already looking at alternatives.
-
I don't think he's £30 million pounds worth, seems to blow hot and cold. Let them have him and we'll take Berbatov - at least we know he can play in the premiership.
-
Might just be a precaution seeing as they've qualified anyway. Anything on the official site about it?
-
I really like Belletti but obviously age plays a part so Alves would be a good option for the longer term. Without a doubt Sevilla treated him like shit around the move and we were spot on refusing to play the game. The good thing is, we've got the position covered for now so Sevilla wont have as much to bargain with second time round.

Cole's just kissing arse to get a game. Seriously though, Cole does seem to be one of the happier players under the new regime, he's obviously taken to Grant and is enjoying the style of football he's being asked to play. Mourinho did a lot for Joe in terms of his discipline and attitude. As talented as he was, he was definitely prone to overplaying and came off looking like a selfish bugger most of the time. Jose was maybe a little hard on him publicly but Cole undoubtedly benefited from it, with his all round game improving. I just hope that with this new 'free role' he's being given, he doesn't forget what he learnt from Mourinho.

Been back 2 minutes and youre already kissing arse
