Will be interesting to see what the club does (if this is true) as City will definitely be looking for a playmaker to help fill the KDB void
-
If Nkunku leaves at some point in the future, it would be because he's keen on a new challenge at a top side (and we would have failed to be decently competitive and gotten back to the days where we would actually look forward to playing UCL football every other season). What does that have to do with Jackson, he's a young striker looking to develop, if Nkunku gets back to his Leipzig form, he will be starting most games. Pretty sure Maresca mentioned that he would take it slow with Neto, Nkunku, Fofana due to their injury histories.

I don't think we have "years" to sort it out though. When you spend 100+ million on a midfielder, you expect instant results on the pitch.
-
Just watch Saka/Havertz have an absolute field day against our defense. 🤬 I miss the days of actually competing against Arsenal and beating them! Now the best case we can hope for is a 2-2 draw or an absolute belting.
-
Thats why alot of the pundits were shocked that we were so eager to pay his release clause at Benfica. He's a good midfielder on his day but he's not really a DM or AM that can properly influence the game. Feel like the opposition know that he's not really up for a physical battle in midfield.
-
Would take Ederson/Alisson/Courtois ahead of those 5 any day of the week. Even Raya should be worth 30+ million right now with the way he is playing. Donnarumma is wasting his career at PSG, he should be at one of the top clubs competing for UCL titles etc.
-
At this point he's gonna have to follow the likes of Loftus-Cheek and go to a league with less intensity, maybe a new start will help him play week in week out. Such a shame as well, would have been nice to see an academy player as part of the first team leadership group for years to come!
-
Feel like that's the reason why he was linked to a few PL clubs in the transfer window, particularly Newcastle with Eddie keen on his pacey wingers! I just don't see Madueke taking that next step and becoming a consistent 7/10 player week in week out until he figures out when he needs to pass/cross the ball and when it's better to take on the man and go for glory.
-
Looked like Sanchez lost all confidence after conceding that soft opening goal, not sure why he decided to rush out in the first place? And then the 2nd goal, my god, why would you give the ball to the opposition player running at your goal, pressing up like a mad man. The BBC webpage had the best commentary on the half time whistle: Something like how on earth is this game not 7-6
-
He's also not in the squad because he's more of an attacking mid than a central midfield player.
-
Massive game to see mentality of the players, at home, vs another top 6-8 PL side.
-
Brighton are generally well drilled, I wouldn't expect that much control in midfield. Prediction is a 2-2 draw or we somehow sneak a win at home against them.
-
He would probably do better in the Italian league. I thought Inter recently signed another defender
-
Some decent fixtures: Tottenham v City Brighton v Liverpool Wimbledon/Newcastle vs us
-
I think that type of model only works once all the high earners are sold off. Essentially, you would be like Brighton in the premier league, good enough to be competing for a top 8 spot and capable of playing good games against the top sides of the EPL.
-
I'm still surprised that Arsenal didn't get this guy.
-
It is an improvement from previous windows when they went for Fofana, Mudryk for 70 million each. If we can offload Disasi/Badiashile and get a proper CB/RB, that would be amazing.
-
Wasn't that the Mourinho era, think we had a run of like 80 games or so where teams couldn't beat us at the Bridge!
-
He seems to be a better ball striker than Jackson, that's for sure!
-
Didn't UEFA also stop the Todibo transfer to United as Ratcliffe had a controlling in both clubs and they were both in European competitions this season. Actually sounds like a good thing as the club will be punished for wasting ridiculous money on players that weren't worth it (Mudryk, Fofana, Cucurella, Enzo, Caicedo).
-
Brighton won't be any easier with the way they've playing under the new manager, and then Forest will be hard as well as they just managed to beat Liverpool at Anfield... I feel like the lack of experience in midfield/defense is going to cost us against all these 'plucky' sides.
-
If you replaced Gusto with Lavia, that would be true...😆
-
Not to defend Mount but he was from the academy so he gets a few passes for shite performances. Felix has always been inconsistent, thats why he's been moving clubs every other season.
-
Mate, you need to link the Drogba video for context 😆
-
Isn't that what he did at Brighton as well? I'm not sure what fans expect from Caicedo? He's the energy player, gets around the midfield, runs a lot...similar to Kante (but Kante was a cheat code). We should just be glad that we somehow got away with 3 points with a makeshift midfield and Disaster at RB. On to the next game... West Ham, Brighton, Forest....then we basically play the top 6 till 23rd November.
