With this current Mourinho attacking style, it can only be very successful if he had players who could make things happen on their own, create chances individually. People like hazard of last season, Douglas Costa, one on one dribblers or a striker like drogba who lampard had to just lift the ball up to and Drogba did the rest. Unfortunately for Mourinho, this team have lack of dribbling fullbacks, and only one good dribbling one on one winger in hazard. He's tried salah, cuadrado, Willian, schurlle, and now watching Yarmolenko looking for more individual dribblers to balance his attacking tactics. Finding players who are experts in dribbling to help his individualistic tactics is hard to find unfortunately for Mourinho.

The problem is that he's telling the players to do what they want in attack. No attacking movement is practiced, no passing moves is practiced, all we do is pass the ball to hazard or fabregas and hope they do something. Then on top of all these players playing with their own individual mindset, the fullbacks are not allowed to go higher to provide width compared to other big teams. It's like gathering players and telling them how to position themselves when defending but do what any of you want in attack. That's why we don't look like a team when attacking, no combination plays, nothing to look like we practiced any patterns. Our poor defense this year has exposed this big flaw about Mourinho.

I'm more concerned about how we play against westham. The good news is that our defense has gotten far better without ivanovic. But our attacking is still poor. Hopefully more pressing and intensity with fullbacks going forward and combining with hazard and Willian will help but we play too individualistic these days when attacking instead of practicing some team moves to make it difficult for opponent to defend.

Exactly. This is the first team Mourinho has managed without a proper intelligent and technical box to box. When I remembering we used to have essien, ballack and lampard I shake my head. Now its pass pass pass pass, no one to drive forward with the ball through the middle, it's frustrating really.

I just finished watching the arsenal vs bayern match. What a thoroughly entertaining game, chances everywhere. Douglas Costa is dribbling as easy as Hazard used to last season, only end product is keeping him from the same level imo. Proper counter-attacking from arsenal, even though lewandowski should have scored twice

All big, all tacklers, all technical players. Now we have plenty players all over the pitch with only one of those three abilities

It seems like the only attacking players who will make it successfully here are those who can make things happen individually. Only dribbling wingers will play well, we don't have the team play to carry players who can't do things on their own

I dont like players like Iniesta, Silva and ozil to be my wingers, so it seems we have different preferences there. How did we get to this point where it seems like I'm defending Mourinho's statement?? I'm not, Mourinho is wrong The only reason why this is being discussed is because attacking wise, he isn't delivering if not we would have overlooked everything else because he's so good on form.

Exactly, I didn't ask for him to be messi though. But if you look closely, all these similar players to hazard you brought out are all central attacking midfielders. That's why I advocated before that Hazard would be a beast behind the striker, wingers are more work horses bar messi who moves about.

Hazard is a far better player, and former epl player of the year. Mourinho will lose his die hard fans if hazard moves because of defending.

Sanchez has the attacking workrate I wish hazard has. He doesn't defend in the 18box but when arsenal are attacking, I see Sanchez everywhere making runs, asking for the ball, making passes, all energy but hazard relaxes and waits for the ball to land on his feet most of the time before he moves a lot of the time. If hazard has that attacking workrate like Sanchez and ronaldo, Mourinho wouldn't dare tell him to follow the fullback to the 18box.

Hazard could leave. He'll get tired of defending eventually, but he isn't providing enough in the attack this season to claim that right to not defend much.

The only problem I have with willian's form is that any period he's our best player, we play poor football most of the time.

With our style of football, he'll be on par with salah in Chelsea
