I seriously advocated for improvement on the current players we have, because last season we had hunger to win the league, we had drogba who motivated hazard and co saying it's been too long since we won a major trophy. But no one anticipated that so many of our players would individually be so poor this season. I want Chelsea to be a pressing team that plays with intensity. Not possession, not Tiki-taka, just basic pressing and intensity. We have to develop an identity for our team so that the players instinctively play that way when the match isn't easy. Teams like Bayern and Barcelona hold unto the ball when they're having a tough time because they instinctively play to their training pattern. We on the other hand look like a team that once the game tactics don't work, every player starts playing what he feels like is right without any cohesion. Mourinho just has to get us playing one pattern so that we get used to it, so that even if he doesn't give any match tactics, we won't look so confused and can fall back on our identity.

He's still a very good player, excellent on counterattacks, he's no silva in terms of controlling the match tempo but his ability is still good. His defensive workrate is poor though.
