I'm watching manutd right now against feyenord and lol, just like we were most of the time under Mourinho, they're struggling to know what to do, everyone is cramped in the middle. Clearly no practiced patterns on show just like we used to be and since there's no individual dribblers like hazard, it's making for a boring match lol. Luckily we don't have to deal with this anymore lol.

Conte has actually helped us well. And has made Willian, Oscar and Matic a lot better. Bonus Stat: Willian has the highest key passes per game in the league with 4.7, the next highest are Payet and De Bruyne with 3.5. Oscar is in 14th with 2.5 per game. Infact only mancity have created more chances than us in the league. We just have the fewest amount of finishers in our team compared to the top Premier League teams. He has made even Oscar and Willian create more chances than ever. These are Chances Oscar/Willian/Matic were involved in vs Swansea, Burnley, Watford & WestHam vs Swansea: Chelsea throw in, nice flick on by Oscar releases Willian down the right, Willian chops inside then makes a yard for himself on the outside to put a nice ball across for Costa but Fabianski gets down a full stretch. Ball into the box is poorly, Oscar brings it down with a lovely touch and finds Costa with a great layoff. Costa scores, Oscar assist. Willian delivers the corner that Terry flicks on and Costa should score. Willian gets the ball 1 vs 1 against the fullback, cuts inside him and put a ball across the Eden is inches away from tapping in. Oscar picks it up 25 yards out and bends one towards the top corner but Fabianski claws it out with a great save. Oscar makes a nice diagonal run that is picked out by Cesc, lays it off to Ivanovic whose shot is saved but Costa ends up scoring. Those are just the chances included in a 10min highlights, also remember a few other involvements, a couple of shots from Oscar from distance, a header he should be better with and a nice effort from Willian at the near post after making a yard to get the shot away. vs Burnley: Matic wins it in midfield, finds Hazard in space who runs 30 yards and scores. Willian holds it up out wide and waits for Matic to makes a run to the byline, slips it to Matic whose cross is flicked on to Hazard by Oscar, Hazards shot is cleared off the line. Willian holds it up out wide and slips in Oscar who has made a nice diagonal run, Oscar’s fake cross put the defender on the ground and the rolls it to Costa who should score but his shot is saved. Willian gets it 1 vs 1 vs the fullback in the box, makes a yard on the outside and smashes it past the keeper to score. Hazard finds Matic in the box whose lays it off to Costa but his shot is saved. Willian picks out Hazard on the edge of the box from a corner whose shot is saved and then JT blazes it over. This time Oscar picks out Hazard at the edge of the box who cuts onto his left and fires over. On the break Willian picks out Hazard who is unmarked with a beautiful cross, shot is saved well. Oscar picks it up in a deep area, plays it into Batshuayi’s feet who releases Pedro who then picks out Moses with a whipped cross to score. vs West Ham: Oscar plays in Ivanovic with a cheeky backheel, Ivanovic’s shot saved at the near post. Oscar tackles someone deep in West Ham’s half, runs at Reid, beats him with a nice body feint, is dragged down, should have been a penalty but isn’t given. Willian free kick tipped over the bar by Adrian. Willian corner picks out Azpilicueta at the near post whose glancing header is over. Oscar through ball sets Willian 1 vs 1, makes a yard on the outside and shot is going into the bottom corner but is well saved. Willian corner picks out Terry 8 yards out who heads over, should probably do better. Full highlights of the Watford game have been taken down. Conte is doing well. We're just not clinical enough, cut him some slack. Don't remember how many times we created loads of chances under Mourinho.

Poor when we attack. Nainggolan is such an upgrade on him....
-
They have better players on the ball and all are mobile enough to adapt to pressing. While we have so many poor in possession so naturally our gameplay will never be fluid if the ball keeps bouncing off our players on their first touch
-
Exactly Willian, Oscar and Matic are average Joes. Kante, Hazard and Costa are the main guys
-
We created more than enough chances to win this match and restricted Swansea from creating much. No one should blame Conte for anything, he did well. Our defense yet again has cost us points. Courtois with a stupid tackle and cahill dwelling on the ball too long. Costa is a good striker but concentrate on the match ffs. We wasted 15mins of the 2nd half on the Costa show, fouls, diving and antics and we lost momentum after that. If we just continued our passing patterns instead of looking for a red we would have dominated early and could have gotten that 2nd goal. Hazard was good in the first half, poor in the 2nd. Why doesn't he shoot??? Argh!!!! Willian and Oscar with their usual average, ok, 5/10 performance. Matic as usual a non-existent entity when we attack. But we should have put our chances away, we badly need a midfield goalscorer. Costa as the only player that can score goals in our starting lineup is not good enough. It's not good enough. It is a major weakness in this team. Oh and the ref is a useless bag of ****

Lucas moura yesterday on David Luiz: "Of course [David Luiz will be missed], because the atmosphere is different when David is around," the Brazilian winger added. "He is always smiling, he jokes all the time. A person like him will be missed, for sure."
-
Asked about the mixed public reaction to Luiz's return, Conte replied: "I'm a bit surprised with this situation. I think David is a good player and he showed this in his career. He won a lot. Also, in some situations, he lost. But I think that David Luiz is a good defender, a good centre-back. I'm very happy that he's here. "I don't like to speak about the past. Now I'm the coach of David Luiz. Also, I have a great responsibility to improve him in these aspects. If someone thinks that this player loses his concentration during the game, my task is to improve him in that aspect. I'm not afraid about this. "If he must improve in some aspects, I'm here for this reason -- to improve my players. To work on any weaknesses and make them stronger. It's important. If it happens that, during a game, a player loses concentration, I don't like this. But he's my player." Conte enjoyed considerable success working with defenders at Juventus, refining the complementary skills of Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli into a formidable three-man defence that has underpinned five consecutive Serie A title triumphs, and he says he sees similar potential for growth in Luiz. "It's important to remember that when I started at Juventus, with Chiellini, Bonucci and Barzagli, the defence of Juventus had been conceding a lot of goals," Conte added. "I remember that, before my arrival, many people told me: 'No good, these defenders. No good.' But then I started to work with them, I found a great commitment and attitude. "Then, through the work, I think that now we are talking about three of the best defenders in the world when we talk about Chiellini, Bonucci and Barzagli. But remember, when we started in that first year at Juventus, it wasn't so."

Cahill said: “Everyone saw what happened. We went from winning the league having stayed at the top all year to the disaster of last season. “We lost our way tactically, everyone's head was in different directions. "When I say about pulling together as a team, I felt everyone had different situations going on individually whether that be if you're playing or not, the manager, or this or that. Different distractions are never healthy. "It is the hardest thing [when everyone is not on the same wavelength]. People talk about as if you wake up one day and suddenly you're a bog standard player. It doesn't happen. "You always have the quality and ability, it's the mindset, everyone being fully focussed on what they're doing, no distractions." Chelsea look much more like their old selves since the summer arrival of Italian taskmaster Antonio Conte and have won their first four games this season. Defender Cahill told BBC Five Live: "We needed organisation. The main thing for me is how fit and sharp we look, and the organisation in terms of where players need to be. "It was important that we regroup and get everyone focussed back to where we should be. "We needed to have a game-plan, have the tactics and way we want to play drilled into everyone and everybody buy into it. That's what we have seen early on. "This season we have come in, worked very hard and we are buying into what is happening here. “That's the most important thing to move forward." We have a game-plan now. No more looking confused in attack like we haven't played with each other before.

I knew he was a very good crosser of the ball from his videos, and I just found some stats to back it up.
-
I just watched Brazil vs ecuador and from what I saw, Gabriel Jesus is some potential. Two fantastic goals, Definitely better than anything I've seen from barbosa and he has a good technique both in his first touch and shooting technique. Mancity have got some player in him.
-
I've watched about three different videos of Alonso and also this one up there. I know that videos are not as good as watching him in the match but from what I've seen of him, he has very good attacking qualities. He can cross very well, he has better linkup play than any fullback in our team (Spanish guys are usually fantastic in this area) he can take freekicks very well. He can play in a 3 centerbacks system as the leftsided centerback. For the defensive side of his game, he is big for a fullback so he's not getting bullied easily. And he doesn't back off with hands behind his back like ivanovic when tackling, he actually closes down the opponent quickly like Azpilicueta. But because of his size, he looks slower than I thought. He doesn't have that initial acceleration, but he's still faster than ivanovic. He could be beaten by pace, especially in a faster Premier League.
-
I agree we should have got the defensive reinforcements in a lot sooner, so that they have some pre-season too. But at least we got it finally, I would have been annoyed if we didn't get anyone especially as we loaned out our defenders and have only 4 senior defensive players in the team (We were basically 2 injuries away from a disaster) But looking at the positives, Luiz is better than many of the other centerbacks we were linked with, and can also step into midfield easily if need be.(especially in a 4-2-4 formation beside kante where we need mobile CMs to play the formation. He's more mobile than all our midfielders bar kante) We're hoping Conte can reduce some of his mistakes as he did for Bonucci. Also if Marcos Alonso turns out to be a hit after so many players experimented in the leftback spot I'll be very happy.
-
They've done well, considering no champions League football, kante and batman are excellent buys. Especially as they got a quick left-footed leftback and a quick ballplaying centerback over the line and made efforts to address our biggest weakness last season. Good job. Now time to challenge for the title till the last day.

Found this somewhere 20 reasons we want luiz: 1. Pace 2. Cover for other positions 3. Physical 4. Arsenal 5. Sublime passer of the ball 6. Puts one of our CB’s on the bench 7. Tactical flexibility 8. Stamina 9. Will fight for the shirt 10. Won trophies including (CL) wearing the shirt 11. Good teammate and locker room presence 12. Free kicks from distance 13. Scores amazing goals 14. Not much fun to play against (ask Costa) 15. He won’t knock us out of the CL next year 16. Seeing him play against Jose and Zlatan will be a hoot 17. Cool Hair 18. Roman likes him 19. We love him 20. Geezer
-
I remember when we looked solid in midfield with him and Matic. Now with Kante beside him, it'll even be better and he can step into the defence at any time. We might have killed two birds with one stone with this signing.
-
Luiz + Costa + Conte = Passion + Madness
-
This is unreal. I thought it was some bullshit rumor since daily mail broke the story but luiz is coming, it's actually happening out of nowhere

I'm not even that worried about ibrahimovic. I'm more worried about anyone fast enough to get in behind our back four. (we'll soon play liverpool lol)If we had zouma at least in some one on one situations he'll compete but I don't know if he'll be the same after that injury. I'm happy we're signing a fast left-footed leftback so that our team can look normal with overlapping fullbacks in attack. Hopefully he's a better defender than baba, and can cross properly.
-
I heard he went off injured again
-
It's good we have Conte then who has the record for highest points in a 38 games league and has gone unbeaten a full season before. We'll keep up.
-
I'm in love with N'Golo We got him for the low low I'm in love with N'Golo

So many times under Mourinho, there was this sense that we were so narrow and would be passing slowly through the middle where there's no space, it was so frustrating. Conte seems to be different, we spread wide and made the pitch big, Burnley couldn't mark the whole space and this made hazard have much more one on one's with the fullback compared to being double marked before. We're pressing more as a team instead of being disjointed and attacking as a team with the fullbacks high up and we're even shooting more from outside the box When we completely blend to the system, we'll be much more fluid and hopefully more clinical in finishing.
