The point most of us are saying is that, torres is playing bad so maybe putting him on the bench for sturridge will give him a reality check to step up his game and play better. We are not saying sturridge is better, we are just trying to motivate him because so far, pampering him when he is playing badly is not working. I know drogba's presence slowed him down but sturridge does not have drogba's proven talents and could be the inspiration that torres needs to spark his season. I think this strategy will work for torres, since sturridge is not a drogba that would intimidate him.

I've calmed down after the match. But I was attacking torres bcos of how many times he lost the ball or the attack was halted when the ball went to him. Holding up the ball should be basic for any striker and if sturridge is given a chance and he doesn't give possesion to the opposition more than he passes to team mates like torres, then I would take him over torres anytime. But he hasn't had the chance at all but I think moses can play there. RDM just has to be concerned enough to try somthing else instead of hoping torres comes good till the 82nd minute.

I've calmed down a bit after our draw. We have two missing pieces, 1.) a cm that can pass the ball, and 2.)a striker that can at least hold up play. 1.) There were some situations where if scholes or modric or yayatoure was in our team, they would find a pass to the attackers from deep. Mikel and ramires are both average passers, if they could spray long foward passes, then our play will improve greatly. Especially when building from the back, mikel or ramires cannot give an assist from deep or a defence splitting pass. People like (xavi, pirlo, schwinstiger, modric, derossi, yaya toure, alonso) 2.) The other option is the striker, we can't ignore the importance of a striker that can hold the ball and bring the teammates into play. A perfect example was lewandoski against madrid, you could see how he was so strong on the ball and could pass to the AM's of (reus or gotze or kuba) and make sure there attack is flowing. But torres ruins half of our attacks(42touches and 26 turnovers) so it looks like mata, hazard oscar are having a bad day because they didn't score. I can see where your coming from, about us depending on our playmakers to play matches. But I think we press high as part of our strategy, but not as effective as dortmund yet, but we will get there. But if we solve these two pieces I mentioned above I assure u we will play far better.

Yes..... RDM clearly doesn't have the balls to bench him for poor peformances, so I guess the fans can force the issue and help the coach know torres is terrible. We've booed sturridge before. This is chelsea fc not torres fc. Out of 46 touches today, 26 were turnovers just shows how useless he is and on top of that he can't score and earns 200,000pounds a week. What the hell?? Does he expect mata to score for him in every match and not once in a while bail us out like hernandez or dzeko?

Just horrible stats... Everytime the ball was passed to him I had this feeling he will screw it up... Unbelievable, if u can't score then u should at least hold up play!!! I can't believe pple thought he played well.
-
We need to start booing torres each time he loses the ball. Its getting ridiculous.... How can he lose possesion each time he touches the ball. Just pass the fuckin ball and run into the box FFS.
-
This is another bad miss. Mata should have scored. Torres is a mudafukin cunt, bulshit of a player, I would take kalou over this piece of shit... Freakin bulshit, RDM should have taken off torres for moses instead of oscar...... Liverpool took control imidiately oscar was off.... Did I say torres was a cunt???
-
It would be alarming if his positioning cannot get him into at least 4 shooting positions per game. Because from what I have been seeing so far, he has 2 shots per game. I just can't understand if he has lost interest in scoring. The dribbling problem is because he has lost his strength to hold up the ball and bring others into play, so he tries to go head on and loses the ball anyway. He should shoot more so that the defenders can have something to think about he did it from range against newcastle and scored. He should try it more, RDM just has to have a talk with him and stop pretending everytin is ok.
-
We know he can't trap the ball better than heskey, we know he has the poorest passes in our team(70% completed) but what I can't understand is why he doesn't shoot as the striker. Why don't the team encourage him to shoot more, I mean oscar shoots more than torres. Torres took only one shot against shaktar, how can u score if u don't shoot? RDM is shying away from this instead of having a talk with torres before we start losing games because of his incompetence.
-
Yes that too. But cavani even has a better goal scoring ratio. 79goals in 2 years playing for napoli. #Boss
-
Always thought he will add more to our team than falcao and cheaper too, without the pressure of a high price tag. His height and strength reminds me of drogba, but he still finishes like a boss. Outstanding goal ratio, the only strikers at his level are rvp and falcao.
-
I think I understand what u mean. Its a tough one, hazard has the best close control in our team, very hard to get the ball off him. But he is good at drivin at players, which is why RDM plays him at the wings to attack full backs. If he develops his shooting more, he could be moved there in the center and oscar to the right.
-
Injury has really slowed him down. He looked so good in the pre-season games even looked as good as hazard. Hope he takes his chance in the world club cup.
-
In: cavani/falcao/lewandoski In: fernadinho(great upgrade in the pivot, passes as good as oscar and makes energetic runs like ramires. He reminds me of yayatoure, he even is a better long range shooter than mikel and ramires. Would be a steal if we get him)
-
Because of our swansea draw, this is a must win game. I can't bear seeing manutd getting further from us. And we've lost 6 of our last 8 league games against them and even lost our last 4???? We need to beat this liverpiss
-
Fernadinho is the advanced form of ramires. He is so good with his passes and he dribbles past people too, he even has a stronger size. I am a big fan of his passing, it cut through our defence a few times. Vital 3 points. No one screamed louder dan me when moses scored. Bring on liverpool!!
-
I think its because they know mata more, but if we are to unlock our full potential, then they all have to get better teamwork.
-
We played much better in the 2nd half. Shaktar are a good team, they can beat anyone in the premier league on their day. We actually crossed a lot more in this game and this mixed up our attack, makin it a little unpredictable. Instead of only going through the middle. How I wish we could learn to put in low crosses like them. And oscar makin late lampard runs to score. Torres had only one shot, poor. Luiz, I was scared anytime he was near the ball or touched the ball. There is something I noticed, the team prefers to play one twos with only mata, but when oscar passes and makes the run, he rarely gets the return pass. I think we should be more fluid with everyone and not just mata.
-
Falcao is the best striker in the 18 yard box. When the ball is with him there, he knows what to do more dan anyone. But cavani can rotate with our players, just like he did with hamsik and lavezi, and still score goals. Cavani also plays anywhere across the strikers just like in uruguay. I watched his movement when napoli played against us and he was magnificent, he alerts his teammates exactly where he wants the ball, not shy of shouting. he is also a large striker of drogba's size so it is easy for poor passers like luiz and ramires to find him with ease. Peter cech also is scared to pass from the back and normally hits long balls. Cavani is large and will win more aerial balls for sure. Falcao is a better finisher, but cavani's finishing is no joke, make no mistake about it. Cavani can also help in defending corners, freekicks just as drogba. Especially as right now we have a lot of short pple in our team. Overall I know falcao will solve the problem of torres allowing defenders to catch up to him when put through on goal and finishing chances. But I think I want cavani more, he looks more complete and would solve our problems more
-
Our worst peformance since qpr.... Terrible, no tempo through out the game..... I can't believe mata has this much influence. Oscar, hazard = average without mata Torres was shit, RDM should have removed him instead of moses. Were not on top anymore... Bullshit...
-
Typical torres, loosing the ball on the counter
-
Moses doesn't want to stay wide today... Romeu is not lookin safe in the pivot

Chelsea lodge complaint about Clattenberg
kellzfresh replied to bababoom's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
This is getting bad. If refs are talking about boycotting our games, what if they are talking about a witchhunt too. It would be bad if in a lot of matches, the refs start getting too strict on us. -
Sturridge was selfish at times, but he held the ball a lot better than torres. I learnt he completed 50/56 of his passes. Its a relief to have a match where our opponents are not guaranteed a counter attack everytime the striker touches the ball. Sturridge needs to improve his decision making, maybe he can take shots and be a little stingy during build up play but should have more teamwork at counters, hazard is a perfect example. Moses was a beast Azpicueta was very good defending, it was so difficult beating him on a one on one, or even crossing from his flank. He also seems to like crossing, that's good. I like a player that the rest of the team knows what they get from him and understand well. Luiz scares me everytime he is on the ball, a tickin time bomb. (Ramires-oscar) was nice to see, oscar played like scholes for us. It would be marvelous if we can turn him into a pirlo type player. Ramires is a beast. Mata was tired. Hazard's assist was even better than the one he gave mata against tottenham. Loved his celebration. Piazon was lost, never involved. Thank goodness we won. This line up would be worth tryin against a small team Azpi cahill terry cole Oscar Ramires Moses mata hazard Torres
