November is never a dull time for chelsea is it? Don't know if the players will be fired up for this or will be on a low. Luckily benitez plays with 4-2-3-1 so not much of a system change. I think he prefers wingers, so I don't think mazacar will play together unless oscar drops to the pivot. Sadly, oscar might lose out cos he will prefer mata behind torres for sure. Prediction Azpi-iva-cahill-cole Romeu-mikel Moses-mata-hazard Torres Please just don't lose this.
-
I didn't blame chelsea. I said chelsea neeed a goal threat and a playmaker from the pivot. We need that for possesion purposes. Or else we will still only create chances on the counter. In the begining of season, people didn't know how to contain chelsea, now they just mark mata, hazard oscar and we can't create shit. A playmaker like modric in the pivot will leave spaces for mata to exploit. And they can also give the second pass before the assist.(Usually over head passes from deep which chelsea DM/CM players cannot do) We hold the possesion, but don't create any chances from it, just watch the juventus game. We create MORE from the counter, so fewer chances will be created for sure. Mikel and ramires can't thread a through ball that slices through the defence and can't shoot from distance. We need someone in that pivot to be doing this for us. Imagine spain without xavi and alonso and they will be a totally different team.
-
Who advised roman to do this? He should be sacked. This was a very bad timing...
-
We hate him too much to admit there are some positives. But I think he was more of a cup knockout manager than a league manager.
-
I know he's not a regista, and that's what we need in chelsea to really play more possesion football. If oscar and mata have to drop deeper everytime so that cech doesn't punt balls everytime, then they will tire easily. Glad we agree about the regista But its required if we want to move on from "defend and counter" style of play.
-
I'm not making him the scape goat. I'm saying chelsea can never be a complete possesion team till we get a proper playmaker. The passes I'm looking for from mikel are defence splitting passes or overhead passes to the strikers. Not just ground passes to mata to create the chances. I'm not blaming mikel in particular, we don't hav the kind of player I'm talking about in chelsea. Mikel is just like carrick, we need a scholes, pirlo, xabi aonso, modric in our pivot along him or ramires. It will be perfect for our team.

This is so sad. The person that won us the champions league shouldn't be treated like this??
-
I knew this would happen. I knew it damn. Wasn't fair on our champions leauge winning coach to be sacked this early..... Do we even have a replacement??
-
It was very obvious we needed a ballpassing midfielder, to complete this transition of ours. Mikel can't create a chance with a pass, only passes to side and back. He can't shoot from distance. He can't give defence splitting overhead/ground passes. He can only collect the ball. Ramires has energy to run and intercept balls on the counter, but no reading of the game for passes. He can only make threatning runs during counter. But is no threat when we are in possesion or from outside the box. (No shooting accuracy, or killer passes.) When we had ballack, he could shoot from range on target, so we had a dm/cm that could threaten the opposition from possesion. We are growing into possesion team so we need a dm with killer passes and can shoot. See pirlo and vidal both can shoot from distance, one is a passer and one is a box to box. That's why we can't create in possesion except when we are losing and opposition sits back. Its not mazacar that hold the possesion for a team, it is always the dm/cm in barca its xavi not iniesta, madrid xabialonso not ozil. This is because the CAM can easily be marked but the DM is too deep to be marked easily and can dictate play. Our dictator is mikel I just wish we get fernadinho or moutinho this january ffs.
-
So sad from chelsea. I knew RDM was never a possesion football manager and now his players can't defend well in the counter attack system he likes. Last season we had drogba up top to finish the chances from a counter, now we have no one to do that. It so unlucky for RDM that he couldn't change our system.
-
I really don't want RDM to be sacked, but I wish we could learn that with mazacar, we can't defend deep properly like last season. They are posession based players, so we need to hold possesion and not only when we are loosing. Two immediate concerns 1. We need to practice our movements in possesion, we rely on mazacar instincts too much ffs. Team play and positioning while we are in possesion should be practiced so that we get better at creating chances. We had only 12 shots and 6 on target while juventus had 25 and 15 on target. Most of them was playing possesion football. 2. We need a ball playing CM for this transition of ours to progress. We can't pass from the back because there's no (xabialonso, xavi, scholes, fernadinho, moutinho, schweinstieger) in our team. We were punting balls to short attackers all day. Mata, hazard and oscar are high up and can't come back to help mikel, ramires and so we lose the ball to opposition fast. RDM's tactis of trying to play on the counter when mata and hazard can't really fufil defensive roles like kalou did is back firing and we are conceding goals for fun.

RDM put a terrible line up, with no striker, setting us up for the counter with no striker? Who does that? With all those midfielders we couldn't produce any meaningful play when in posession. Our possesion game is awful, no training on possesion is done in our team. Cahill + luiz = 2 goals conceded Why didn't he play someone up front? We defended far too deep. Azpi > iva in defending Taking off mikel handed the match to juve. We couldn't control possesion and were all ova the place we he was off. Torres is still shit Mata is absent when the coach tells him to defend instead of telling him to try and control the game. Hazard.... No comment Oscar had some flashes of brilliance, wasn't enough. The starting lineup killed the match Juve fully deserved to win Maybe 3-1 would have been more fair but juve where the better team by miles. RDM - "I can only train players how to counter attack, don't expect chances in possesion, wait till counterattacks".

Tell me about how liverpool, ajax, napoli and nottingham forest win with their history.

TACTICAL ANALYSIS FOR THE GAME We need to work on our defensive positions. Man for man marking in lots of situations Bonucci Chelini brazagli Isla. Pirlo. Asamoah Vidal. Marchisio. Giovinco quagriella Sturridge Mata. Moses Oscar. Ramires. Mikel Cole. Cahill. Iva. Azpillcu We should mark them from the front. Sturridge should press the centerbacks. No torres, we can't afford to be losing possesion anytime we attack. OSCAR should mark PIRLO MIKEL on MARCHISIO RAMIRES should face the faster VIDAL and man mark him. This is as important as pirlo himself. AZPI needs to have the game of his life against ASAMOAH in their unfamiliar formation. CAHILL and IVA should deal with GIOVINCO and QUAG ISLA is not a big threat, so MATA can afford to stay higher cos cole can handle him. I excluded HAZARD because he doesn't dribble lately and we need mata's passing with sturridge and moses is needed for some width. A back 3 is weak for crosses, a clear example was against napoli last year. We crossed all day long and they couldn't handle it. Our attacking play is not strong away from home this season, so we must make full use of our counter attacks. And when in possesion play through balls to the ever moving sturridg to get behind the defence. Torres was static the last time so the 3 center backs marked him out. If we follow through with this we will avoid defeat.

I want a striker that opponents defenders will fear. I want a striker that is a BIG GAME SCORER I want a striker that is consistent every year in chipping 30+ goals in the net. I want a striker iniesta recommended The only way I want this guy is if a ball passing DM(fernadinho, jao moutinho, benat) can be bought too since his price is 30mil.
-
Okay let's not get our hopes too high about sturridge. Remember he is still annoying sometimes(like how he didn't cross to mata against westbrom) He will be an improvement on torres but not that we will start winning 5-0 becos of sturridge. We still have defence issues.
-
They do it so consistently though. I wish we could spot talents and loan out to develop into CLASS players and not ordinary players like some we've done before.

Another classic post. The hard fact is pep =possesion football RDM = counter attacking Depends on which u want. Pep solves his defensive problems by holding unto the ball and high pressure to collect it back up field(barca seems to have lost the high pressure a bit this season though). If the opponent doesn't get the ball, they can't score. RDM solves his defensive problems by defending deep and soaking pressure. Hence opponents can hold possesion as long as they want and we wait for mistake to counter them. It depends on what we fans want to see, possesion or defensive counter. The problem with our team attacking while in possesion is that nothing seems practiced, and I mean NOTHING. I can never see a play and go like "wow this must have been practiced in training" It just seems like when we attack, we are just hoping mata, oscar and hazard come up with something. Big teams play a particular style in every match, so we also don't have an identity in style of play. Barcelona - possesion Madrid - high pressure/counter Dortmund - super high pressure Bayern - possesion/counter Manutd - crossing/counter Juventus - possesion/high pressure Chelsea - ??? What style of play are we implementing, it seems to change in every match. This match possesion and that match defending, confusing at times. If we stick to one game plan in everygame, the players will adapt and become better suited to each other overall.

Maybe we should start signing the scouts of porto and athletico madrid. How do they keep selling and keep gettin stars like this?
-
As much as I always prefered cavani for his height and hold up play, falcao had a bad game like the one vanpersie had against norwich. Vanpersie missed 3 chances there too. The positive is they constantly get goal scoring positions because of GOOD movement. It is very vital, and falcao is one of the best BIG GAME PLAYERS second to drogba. Scoring in consecutive europa league finals is proof. Big game players like messi, ronaldo, drogba, rvp have proven that they can bail the team in the big games. Don't u miss that drogba factor in chelsea? So I don't think the big money will make him flop like torres because his move from porto to athletico was also for big money(more than their former best striker aguero).
-
Falcao just had a vanpersie vs norwich game today lol
-
Flopnaldo flopress lol
-
People said that. Remember they were also good in possesion against us so their midfield was overhyped. I didn't answer my own question the first comment was 30mins in and the 2nd comment was at half time. Analysing as the game went on bro..
-
Me too, I would like cavani because of his HEIGHT and team play, and strength on the ball. But falcao has runs, energy and finishing so it would fit us too. I don't think he would lose his touch in chelsea like torres.
