People need to listen to mourinho more. Torres plays shit against teams that park the bus, but plays well against teams that go all attack and leave spaces behind. That's why mourinho wanted rooney, but we got eto(plan c) who is better than torres against deep sitting teams. So torres starts against bayern, hull and swindon while eto started against teams that had 10 men behind the ball.

Yes his consistency became a major factor in how we played as we were willing to let him preserve his energy for when we have the ball and place all our hope in his attacking skills to bail us out. Striker and AM cannot both say they wont defend, thats like us playing 4-4-2(which is so outdated for europe now because big teams would just storm through your center) Look at the stats of the amount of tackles gotze and reus and muller made last season. That didnt hurt their team at all. We have always cried out for an identity and mourinho's own is high pressing when we are not with the ball and compact midfield with quick transitional play. Mata is not a baby, he can adapt to that for the benefit of the whole team.

Bold is not true. But i see the problem from another point. The problem is that you have to be messi or ronaldo (scoring 50-70 goals and 15-30 assists) if your not the striker and are still not contributing defensively. A team cannot afford to have two people(striker + AM) watching lazyly when we are not with the ball, against big teams in europe. Thats why mancity murdered us last season. They just attack through the middle since mata wont be there anyways, so they end up having more numbers than us in midfield,(3 vs 2) making our pivot look worse than its supposed to be. That wont happen under mourinho. The midfield must be compact to compensate for weaker players. We must play with a definite system instead of telling the rest of the team to defend deep and give the ball to mata once we intercept the ball. What if mata gets injured? then the whole system fails. Thats why we struggled so much when he didnt play. Mourinho is looking for a team system so that if someone is out, another can enter without too much difference in our style.

We'll dominate more possession than people think in this match. Our system is more definite than spurs

Excellent analysis. it wasnt as if benitez didnt have a system, he had one. The problem was that he wasnt going to stay longer or the fans reaction will go in flames. So what happens is that mourinho has come in to avoid that and give the fans their wish. But mourinho is staying for the long haul, so he is building a new style of play but it's completely different from benitez. Thats the problem, he couldnt come in and abandon his own knowledge as a manager only to start using benitez own. So he needs time to implement his own. Mourinho could have easily come and fill in the gaps and continue from benitez system, but he will then be judged from benitez system which doesnt make sense. Just look at guardiola at bayern, he will always be judged because jupp heynkes style was working well for them, but he is the manager now and wants to put his own imprint on the team.

If you notice now he gets into the spaces in the box in dangerous positions, when eto pulls the center backs to the left (should have scored against basel twice) The problem he is having is that the ball is not given to him when facing the opponents, it is only given to him when backing the opponents so its difficult to dribble that way(unless your drogba ) By the time he turns two people rush him and take the ball. When our players all understand their roles, he'll get the ball facing the opposition more often and he'll score even more goals this season (once he improves his finishing of course). There is a plan for hazard, sooner or later we'll see it clearly.
