  1. 7mil for Pedro? I don't believe it, it's a fantastic deal for a rare Two-footed player that guarantees 15 goals 10 assists a season.
  2. Fabregas got injured in arsenal too, but in Chelsea he's not. Arsenal have the worst medical staff among big teams. Chamberlain will fare better here
  3. Chamberlain is better than Sterling imo and would be a good deal. He's a good dribbler with fantastic balance and strength on the ball. I can take cech going to manutd, about the same level as degea, But cech in arsenal is
  4. We'll see how it turns out though. RLC has the physical advantage to adapt easily in the league
  5. Ake is already the better passer, he's more mobile, he seems the better tackler and he's positional sense is very good. RLC will beat him for physique and long range shooting, so what else is he better than ake at.
  6. He impresses me more than RLC imo. I really don't know why RLC has the bigger hype, Ake seems better to me.
  7. @Madmax put up a fantastic article A recurring theme here is the reigning champions either ( a ) failing to replace outgoing players or ( b ) failing to add significant quality to the title winning squad while competitors strengthen enough to dethrone them. The concern The concern then stems from Mourinho's statements over the past week with regards to Chelsea's activities over the summer : Contrast that with Chelsea's intent at this stage last season : Now, Mourinho of course is a master manipulator when it comes to words in the press and his recent declarations could prove to be smoke and mirrors, especially with his comments likening the transfer market bubble to an impending collapse on Wall Street, but surely even he in his heart of hearts would know that Chelsea do in fact need changes, not wholesale changes, but some changes to take the next step - domestic consolidation coupled with European ascension. Areas to target As the season wore on it has become clear that a few more "surgical" signings in key areas is just what is needed to complete the puzzle. A ball playing centre half, a goalscoring winger to take some burden off Costa and Hazard, a central midfielder of enough quality to both complement and supplement the Matic-Fabregas duo would top most wishlists of Chelsea fans and the various transfer rumours swirling around the club confirm the general view in this regard. (Varane, Stones, Pogba, Koke, Griezmann, Bale have all been variously linked with a move to the club and they all make some sense.) The rivals Manchester United continue to flounder despite spending the best part of £200 million over last summer. With their Champions League status restored and a season under the collective belts of Mata, Herrera, Di Maria, Blind and Rojo, they can be expected to spend even more to push on under Van Gaal. Money is not an issue for Manchester City either, with them having proved that they're happy to pay any puny fines UEFA impose on them. The possible departure of Pellegrini and an ageing squad means there will be significant investment for whoever comes in. Arsenal are also free from their Emirates Stadium imposed shackles and are now legitimate rivals on the transfer front too. Conclusion All the indicators point to it being a hard fought battle for the best available players. Chelsea cannot afford to take their eyes off the ball even though they've never been better placed to launch a concerted effort at establishing a sustained period of dominance. 2014-15 was good but next season needs to be even better, and it needs to start in the transfer market. As the saying goes, a rolling stone gathers no moss.
  8. I watch sterling get into so many scoring or assist positions and he makes the wrong decision every single time or misses his shot. He'll improve but it'll take more time than people think
  9. Hope we sign a goalscoring player with great balance as first priority. I don't know how much of homegrown trouble we're in.
  10. He'll be the fastest in our team, he'll improve our counters and he's agile and has balance on the ball like willian. He's also homegrown(which we have to address sooner or later) and just 20. The problem is his finishing /decision making in the box. He's even worse than Willian in this aspect, he has time to develop his finishing though. Finishing is not like technique which is rare to develop.
  11. Not a chance, the way he's playing of late would scare off suitors
  12. Hazard has been average since we beat manutd. Either my friend is right that he's had few good matches when oscar doesn't play Or he is playing without desire when there's no competition like he does in pre-season Or he's tired
  13. Mourinho will eventually buy his physical and powerful box to box player and his left footed rightwinger. This is the first time he has a team that doesn't have this type of players.
  14. Mourinho will eventually buy his physical and powerful box to box player and his left footed rightwinger. This is the first time he has a team that doesn't have this type of players.
  15. Costa rarely gets sent off. He's smart in the way he trolls defenders, people are making him look like some sort of balloteli that gets stupid red cards. He hasn't gotten sent of in 3 seasons, all I hear is "he could have" "the ref almost" "he'll eventually cost us" He's obviously very smart and knows how to do it, he's so in control. Blame fabregas for getting all caught up and getting sent off because of obvious trolling by Costa.
  16. We need to buy quality. Youth team players are available for quantity
  17. He's the type of player Mourinho would love when he's on form. He's big, has better passing than anyone in our team except fabregas, makes marauding runs like essien and has Lampard's long range shooting. The big box to box players that Mourinho always loves. (Tiago, essien, ballack, stankovic, Khedira, ramires) Out of that list of Mourinho's box to box players from Porto till Madrid, ramires is the worst technically and smallest ever. No physical power to burst through tight places but can only function best when there's space. Toure type of player would replace that. But he's gotten lazy and I'll actually prefer if we went all out for matuidi if PSG get Pogba.
  18. When he's on form like last season, he can be a ballack type signing with proper motivation
  19. Italy seems to have good midfielders, that's where their league strength lies. While Spanish League have better attacking players
  20. How good is Filipe Anderson? A lot of bayern fans think he's a good enough dribbler to replace one of robben or ribery. Or is he another overrated Italian league player?
  21. He just doesn't have any close control dribbling, doesn't have great passing or shooting technique. I don't know whether its because Rodgers keeps rotating his positions but he isn't special at anything except speed.
  22. The lack of technique is what I've come to realize he doesn't have. He's physically good but lacks the ball control to be world-class imo, I haven't even seen few glimpses of his technical ability ever like pogba has to have hope for sterling.
  23. Did I just hear that Gerrard will get a guard of honor?? Is he the only English player ever to quit the epl???
