I don't know if we are really in for him, but this explains why it'll be a good deal.
-
Manutd with a midfield of Herrera - Schneiderlin - Schweinsteiger Is already as good as our midfield of Fabregas - Matic - oscar Mourinho factor could still guarantee us the league, but the gap is growing thin. Hope we at least get players to make us big teams killers again.

Until people come to accept this fact that Bale, reus, Griezmann, Isco and Sterling are all not available then they'll realize the only realistic right winger that is an upgrade on willian is pedro. I mean even bayern bought Douglas Costa and Barcelona bought Arda Turan.... He also has strength on the ball not to fall and is completely two footed like Carzola. He has the workrate Mourinho craves too. I would love griezmann, but I'm not willing to take another Schurrle/Mata/KdB gamble of a player who plays very well behind the striker only to turn to shit on the right.
-
It's a gamble. We'll see if it pays off in 2-3 seasons. After all, wilshere, Chamberlain and Townsend were all as hyped as this and haven't improved so many years after.
-
Reus is surely better now. But for some reason no one is going after him in the market, so pedro is the next best option imo.
-
Exactly. Fabregas was insulted and ridiculed and he's our second best player now because he's starting every match and playing a consistent position, instead of being thrown in anywhere in the line-up like pedro is. Anyone who isn't starting consecutive matches will never play to his potential. He is 27 and that is meant to be the peak of every footballer but he's never started enough consecutive games to show it. Pedro was the one who put Henry to the bench, he's the one who held his place in the best team of our generation ahead of ibrahimovic and Sanchez. And because he isn't a big price tag like Neymar he can't start and suddenly he's treated like he had torres/Falcao type injury that will prevent him from being the same. I think we underestimate the impact laliga players have in the Premier League. They mostly shine here especially if they are Spanish.
-
Only because robben plays about 10 less matches than hazard due to injury Barcelona play the most parked buses out of any team in the world because of their possession style. That's why fabregas knows what to do against small teams and pedro will succeed in that too
-
Please this would be a very good signing. Every big champions League team have 3 goalscorers in their starting line-up. Neymar, Suarez, Messi Lewandowski, muller, robben Ronaldo, benzema, Bale While we suffer and toil with only hazard and Costa. And Even hazard is not as good a scorer as any of those players above. We need goals, a box to box midfielder and a fast centerback/zouma starting ahead of cahill, then we can go for the Champions League. Until then, we're hoping for another May 2012 miracle in the Champions League.
-
I was speaking about any type of midfielders who don't play on the wings.
-
Central Midfielders get better when older. Oscar at 25 will be a fantastic player for sure.
-
you understand meWe were too soft against big teams. We needed more of a tough side and spine against the big sides. We needed an Essien/Ballack. Vidal would be perferct, but aranguiz is better than ramires and mikel and can pass so 12mil is a good deal.
-
I never said Arda was perfect, I meant he can play on the wings for Barcelona to replace pedro. But we need a goalscorer more in our team and a box to box midfielder in the pivot. We have a player like Turan in willian so I wasn't motivated that much.
-
He just doesn't start enough matches again. Give him starts like how Suarez suffered in his first 10 matches for Barcelona and pedro will come good again. When Tata Martino was manager, he scored the same amount of goals as Sanchez. He's still good.
-
Pedro knows he won't play, and Turan can play on the wings too. It's worth a punt
-
We should bid for Pedro. Perfect for our right wing
-
Let's go for Pedro please.. Goalscoring winger, strong on the ball, two footed scorer, proven on both wings There's no better right winger available
-
When someone doesn't have much dribbling or speed in attack, they tend to have more vision like Mata, silva, KdB. Oscar needs to develop this part of his game. He doesn't give enough through passes or vertical passes to me, too many sideway passes that don't lead to chances created. I was willing to give him time because midfielders tend to develop later in their careers, but hopefully it happens this season for him.
-
How will he cope without his burst of acceleration he used to get behind defences before. He's resorted to getting caught offside of late because he can't beat the defender for speed from a deeper position
-
Wtf the perfect box to box midfielder we've been looking for, the ballack/essien replacement... I don't think arsenal will get him before us if he's available
-
We should sell him and put a buy back clause. That would be better than all this loans we make, so that their young minds can be settled and we can still get them back cheap if they turn out to be fantastic.
-
I never said they did.... Did I??
-
What happened is that we are now a very good team already and have far better players compared to those years. To improve this our current team, we have to mostly get players from Madrid, Barcelona, Athletico, Juventus, and PSG. Before any ericksen/Tadic/gaitan improves our starting line-up but we now need bale /pogba level players to really improve.
-
You're right about Mourinho system. But I'm not sure griezmann will be the same if played on the right wing. I'll rather manage Remy on the right wing rather than buying big and he can't adapt to the role like Mata, Schurrle, Salah, KdB all struggled.

The club has to appease us fans with a big signing after letting yet another Chelsea star go to a rival.
