May be with the acquisition of fabregas PSG think he is available. It will be interesting to see how our midfield will shape up next season. All roads lead to diego costa with fabregas, oscar, matic, hazard spraying the passes the team looks almost like the galacticos.

I think the last goal for brasil vs cameroun shows a true reflection of oscar's talent. Dispossessing mbia and waiting for the return pass to give a clever assist. He is not a purist attacking midfielder but one that generally improves a team and chooses when he is sure he can effect a game rather than trying severally to achieve that effect. He just needs more consistency

chelseafc #Diego costa, Mancity #aguerro, manutd #Rooney/Rvp, livpool #suarez. Quite some league with so many great strikers not to talk of the good ones. Epl is simply d most competitive and d best. Costa will be a hit.

With eto'o gone, if Ba also goes I'd like to see lukaku and mandzukic along wit torres, diego costa as our strikers.

-------------------Cech/Courtoise----------------- Iva---------------Cahill---Terry------------Azpi-- ----------VanGinkel----------- Matic-------------- ---------------------Oscar------------------------ Willian/salah----------------------Hazard/schurrle -----------------D.Costa/Lukaku-------------------- Mou said he is buiding a puzzle, its going to be quite a formidable team next season. I see mourinho signing more than only costa for next season though so the team will surely look stronger than this formidable looking line up.

He played like a technician yesterday. Helped us with possession and distribution. Him and salah were like glue on the left wing for a moment.

Am i the only one thinking we will win at athletico? I hope not. Mourinho knows unlike a bayern or madrid match-up who can turn a tie away because of their obvious attack, we can end this tie in the first leg with a 2-1 victory in favour of chelsea. It is very like mourinho to spot weaknesses and athletico's biggest weakness is a loss at their home. They are a team that do not score much so if they get beat in the first leg at home, the tie is over never mind the return leg. I am sure mourinho knows this and will play for this. Its all about winning the tie at athletico, its so obvious. A win is very achievable with the right tactics. Playing long balls to Ba up front and foward pressing will trouble them a lot.

Well four outstanding keepers in the semi finals. Infact the four best keepers in the world. Courtois must play, its only fair to him.

Hazard is injured for about 2weeks leaving him with about 3 Epl games left. Just an update -

Azpi has obviously been the player of the season because the reason for our success has been our world class defense. To immediately adapt to an unfamiliar left back position at the highest level with such incredible consistency is quite as awesome as makelele in defensive midfield. Hazard has been good but hasn't been near as consistent as azpi, terry and cahill come close but azpi has given more energy and consistency of high level performance to our world class defense. Azpi not getting the award will infact show bias in my opinion. -
Of the three teams bayern, ATM and Real, real madrid are the least we should want to meet, reasons being. 1) ATM are poor at defending set pieces which is one of our strengths from which we score and we have a better defense than they do. I think the physicality of Ba can cause problems for them at their home as we can always lump balls towards ba to prevent being caught on the break hence we have a system to work against them. 2) As for Bayern with their possession game I think we will get a lot of chances to score on the counter attack and our defense is more than capable of holding their monotonous attacking style. I am confident if we play well we will get nothing less than a draw at germany with the ability to win them at stamford bridge. 3) Real are the least I hope to meet, the pace of their attackers is incredible compared to a slow ivanovic and ageing terry. Their ability from corner kicks, free kicks and crosses makes them a quality above all the other semi finalists and they are clear favourites for me being in the hunt for a treble of trophies. I simply DON'T want to go to the bernabeu. We have no prior champions league meeting against them, and having torres as our only energetic striker for away games makes no sense in going to bernabeu to play a team of athletes. However I hope they get bayern in the draw as they are more likely to knock out real madrid than chelsea due to their system. Our system is quite similar to madrid but they have the better players which is where the problem lies.

Oscar isn't struggling with nothing, he is just adapting to his first full season as a No.10 at chelsea. I remember last season where he was decent on the wing but struggled a lot when ever he was tried at no. 10 in EPL and later under rafa he was only used as no. 10 in cup games where mata needed rest especially against small teams. Now he has gone a some steps further by being able to play consecutive games as no.10 of which he was not always outstanding but also not terrible at least not like last season where he really struggled where he was incapable of consistently playing as no. 10. His quality and intelligence will surely manifest consistently soon because he has a very very good footballing brain.
-
Lukaka a striker went a lot of games without scoring early this year, courtois has made his mistakes some stupid, hazard was in less form compared to oscar in the first three months and has not been at his level or consistent in the last 3 to 4 recent games. All these are inconsistencies of developing players. I have no fault with oscar because I've seen the minimal level he can achieve which i am satisfied with the inconsistency unlike many i see as a result of development and not lack of drive which may be said of players having mediocre seasons. You can't isolate his case because it is typical of most young players. If oscar was in a less tougher league his development would naturally be faster and having a striker like torres who doesn't create space for himself against teams that defend deep can make any player look bad even the spanish midfield doesn't create enough for torres.
-
You can't say a 22 year old CAM is mediocre when he has 11 goals almost twice the number of your 1st choice striker(torres) who is supposedly at his peak. Players are not judged at 22 that is why we still have hope in lukaku, cuortois, and even hazard.
-
After oscar was taken off thiago motta punished us with his distribution with no one pressing him and watching his replacement lampard being skinned by postore for the goal was painful. For some reason jose feels oscar is not strong for the 90 minutes when he played more number of matches over 90 minutes last season, plus he has more football brain than half the chelsea attack and did the only relevant thing chelsea did in attack at PSG, winning the spot kick. It may or may not be relevant to say most times when jose takes oscar off we usually become more awful and we also concede. It wouldn't be a bother if it had the relevant/desired effect but it almost always doesn't, for the introduction of torres and lampard made us worse and ramires should have been taken off early and why mouirinho never used the last sub to kill time when there was a throwing(I think) just before their 3rd goal is baffling, mikel in the 93rd minute would have been awesome and 1-2 it would have ended. We have no chance if samuel eto'o does not recover, Period.

Its a success because; 1. we have re-instilled respect and fear factor back to stamford bridge. 2. Our defense is stable and we have a good CDM for years to come. 3. Hazard, Oscar, schurrle are contributing a very good no. of goals which will be exception when we have a great striker to lead us. 4. Stability in management, Mourinho is hooked to chelsea for years no MATA what. 5. We actually challenged for Epl after a while despite numerous new signings in the last 2 years and can only get better. 6. I expected more but with Torres in front we will always be limited therefore qualifying comfortably for europe and doing well in europe will always be a success as far as torres is in front. 7. We attack and defend as a team unlike previous seasons which means we have only lost games by the odd solitary goal in Epl and Ucl 8. Torres is a year closer to the end of his contract(if he doesn't get sold) 9. We have the best manager in the world finally 10. The general feeling of a successful transition season -
To worsen matters as if torres performances are not bad enough mourinho had to play an ageing lampard behind him all this away from home.
-
Sell him sell him...and bring who? We quite discovered that ozil is either overrated or overwhelmed by the Epl despite his class and experience never mind oscar who is a kid and has shown much greater improvement in the No. 10 role compared to last season in a team fighting for Epl and champions league, a great assist in champions league knockout and two goals vs a title challenger is no small feat in our chase for trophies in addition to all other tactical baggage he brings to the table. He is stepping up at the right time. We haven't had a player of his type before, the closest was ballack who was obviously more physically endowed and old but tactically sound. If we sell him it'll be a loss for me rather than a gain because we don't know his limit yet. He Played a key role in confed. Cup and europa league at 21 yrs, now at 22yrs he is fighting for Epl title and champions league plus a key player for brasil at the world cup. I think I will analyse him after the world cup and beginning of next season before jumping on the negative wagon.

Yep, a liverpool win cos we can affect directly the league title when we play them at anfield unlike city who we don't play anymore.

We need to avoid Draws, just win win win and may be we have room for one more loss or two more draws to make 87 or 86 points respectively which might be enough to win the league. The problem is that we played all of ManU, Arsenal, Everton away and got only 2 points only out of 9 points on offer. Am afraid if city do much better, say by getting 7 points then they deserve to win the league for me. I just hope they get 5 or less points a win at united and 2 draws at arsenal and everton, that will give us some hope.

Oscar is tactically far better than most no. 10's around his age and that's what endears mourinho and fans like me to him despite his age to improve. We all saw in the spurs game that he played little football but his tactical response to the need of the team was second to none. Players like kroos are technically better than oscar in terms of quality on the ball but nowhere near what oscar can produce tactically for a team and his technicality isn't bad either its just not his greatest strength, tactical acumen is his greatest strength which is quite rare in his position, to prove my point mata was a victim due to less adaptability to tactics despite being technically excellent mata>>>kroos.
-
All this you know and therefore judge a player who is 22yrs fans like you would ridicule players like Zidane until he was 25. I know your type. Tony kroos who is 24 has scored 2 goals in 35 games but is still highly rated as a no. 10 and admired by some chelsea fans, some of such fans criticize oscar or willian for lack of creativity. Its laughable. Oscars quality is not in doubt and he has shown a lot of promise along with hazard as very young players in a season we are challenging for the title in a long while. Only time will tell.
