He has some real friends now in Di maria and sanchez as competitors but I think he is still the best winger in EPL even with those two new guys. He never struggled to adapt like sanchez let's see how Di Maria does.

This looks the most likely line up. But I won't be surprised if mourinho maintains the same team from the last two games. Costa and schurrle or fabregas to score.

Di Maria-----Mata------Rooney -----------Van Persie------- Very balanced and a lot of assist masters there Di maria is excellent and I wanted us to sign him but certainly not at that price.

He was better than quite a few in the first half of which the team was generally terrible . In d first half he lost a few balls(everyone did some more than him) but also stopped attacks to our goal but a very good game overall.

You actually have to be intelligent to understand and appreciate oscars qualities else when he plays flashy he is great but when he is effective(generally or in attack) without being efficient directly in attack he is bad. Mourinho once said oscars talent is amazing and so it is because he has very many qualities more so i dare say than any member of our squad despite not being the best at anything of which he is still quite young to be exceptional (he isn't messi). When he was in good form last year he never had any two identical matches because the quality he brings to every match when he plays well are hardly if ever the same consecutively. For example those who say he played well against burnley for one reason will say he played well against leciester tommorrow(if he does) for a different reason. I'm eager to see him in maturity because the quality is not in doubt only the maturity is expected which will bring about frequent good and high level performance of different varieties. What I don't understand is that some people love to hate his efforts. Ballack was quite less creative and scored less than oscar for chelsea despite offering great balance and he was liked a lot as far as I know. Now ballack was a man but oscar is a kid still learning. I like our team as it is with three playmakers Oscar,fabregas and hazard now I want to see how our midfield evolves because I think after burnley oscar,matic and cesc became our starting midfield for majority of games. He wasn't near his best towards the end of last season but he played very well in europe and I doubt if playing well would have helped our sorry strikers form because mata couldn't either though he might have looked good for himself. Costa will score goals with and without help from AMs at least that will help during a bad patch and he will not always be under pressure(same for hazard) but will develop hugely under less pressure. Chelsea is a massive club even for a brazilian wonder kid.

I wish mourinho could just say to Roman or the board "I want Di Maria" like he did for costa. Di Maria for me is the player available now capable of improving us as team. We have to rekindle our old interest in him.

I wish we could get this guy anyhow even if it is a loan deal. He will massively improve our attack he could even be our No.10.

Super player super energy. Goals aplenty

He scored over 10 goals in every of his two seasons with us when he came at age 20 or 21 for a young AM playing at the highest level that is good because it is the equivalent of a striker scoring 20 goals or more but in addition he is selfless. He is by far the best outfield player of his age and below in chelsea but I guess there will always be critics.

We win a flawless victory and people still complain of oscar because no goal and no assist. If willian/hazard played 10 fabregas won't go forward otherwise our defense would be exposed because they don't have that quality of feeling gaps where the team needs to be filled to keep the balance flowing. When we needed goals he had a lot of movement with matic and fabregas in midfield which resulted in exceptional play and gave us balance of possession for our attacks and when we were leading he dropped deeper to defend and link up midfield. He did not have a great game especially as an attacker but it was far from a bad performance as team player. Its not an excuse being a team player but just his quality which has developed the most. We will see on saturday if he plays a different kind of game because it was important to have possession away but at home it is natural. I find him more dynamic than our other attacking midfielders(able to try to adapt to situation of the team) despite not being better solely in direct attacking sense.

Another great thing about the costa and fabregas signings is that they will show hazard and oscar the level of consistency they need to be at or achieve through out the season. Oscar learning from fabregas and hazard learning from costa that's quite interesting to watch I anticipate.

Going by the other opening day matches this is going to be quite tough. All the top teams if not all the teams struggled so I don't expect any different from us. Any kind of win would do. I predict a costa penalty and a hazard conversion.

I hope he plays more direct this season, less of the unnecessary dribbling in our half or in midfield if he must then he should be driving at opposition defense or dribbling to create the chance to shoot. I expect him to hit the 20 goal mark since he takes penalties with at least 8 assists but I know he can do more with more directness in his play.

He likes to invite criticism doesn't he? Well his career should begin in earnest now as he is not such a kid anymore @23 I expect him to be able to have a big positive influence on the team/result in one of every three games in the EPL and domestic cups, that makes for about 15 to 20 very good performances for the season domestically. Those are my expectations for him this season. He usually plays well in europe and gets over 10 goals in all competions combined but with a GREAT striker now in our squad I expect not less than 8 direct assists from him.

If a player of oscars class can't make it at chelsea according to some player haters then may be we shouldn't buy young players anymore but fortunately for him the player haters are not the board and the board have decided in the direction of bringing in a couple of young players for stability and longeivity. Some People are so critical of these young player and its not normal. For me I saw positive things he got himself in goal scoring positions about 4 or 5 times but couldn't finish which could be down to match fitness because he is still one of our best finishers. The guy has great future.

Willian and hazard aren't too different for me except willian probably plays to his capacity and hazard is more proficient on goal but likes to dribble too much. Willian is a certain type of premoulded player with a certain kind of style and that's difficult to change, however his balance of dribbling and passing is really good which makes him a good option as a number 10. Hazard on the other hand doesn't have that balance, hazard is more of a dribbler that can also make great passes to create a chance but not frequent shot or long range passes like oscar, willian or fabregas can do to control midfield tempo, in other words hazard is not a distributor of passes which makes him understrength as midfielder in the No. 10 role but his drbbling makes him a winger in addition to his great passes which make him a playmaker from the wings, a bit like ronaldinho for barca. But for me oscar is our best option because he brings the best stability unfortunately he doesn't have the strength and energy of hazard or willian despite having more stability at no. 10 nor the vision of cesc despite being a better presser, runner and dribbler than cesc. If costa scores regularly regardless of who supplies the final ball be it matic,luis, fabregas, oscar, hazard, willian or costa himself then all our Attacking midfielders will look very good and that is what I hope for rather than blaming one particular player or the other because it is a team sport and we defend poorly as team we will suffer regardless of who plays no. 5 or 6 like wise if we attack poorly as a team we will also suffer regardless of who is no. 10 and that is why mourinho went into the market to fix the team with fabregas, luis, and costa to give a different dimension to the team making it more proficient. Torres though stands out as an individual that restricts our lack of proficiency proven far before the arrival of oscar, willian or hazard, I hope costa is able to make himself available for passes and also finishes clinically our attacks unlike torres. There is more than enough creative players in the team.

Of all our players that made it to the last four of the world cup/ Semifinal Oscar was the only first 11 team player amongst willian, ramires and schurrle. Irrelevant stat but true, chelsea players did not have a good world cup.

I get it you don't like oscar but you don't need to be faster than your shadow. May be we should sell hazard because we can afford robben your logic is illogical. We won't sell players we don't want to sell. If we do want to sell oscar and PSG knocks then we sell but for now we don't want to sell and he doesn't want to leave same for all our players even though they all have a price. PSG knocked we gave them luiz because he is happy to go, same with mata, kdb and lukaku but also the club is happy to sell. We are building a team and not experimenting with every player that looks better than one of ours.

We only sell uncommited players like lukaku, and players who want to leave like mata, luiz, kdb but also players not good enough for our squad, marin, van anholt. Oscar is a commited player and wants to stay and he is good enough for any club in the world. We are not in permanent transition some players must stay for stability especially oscar, hazard, cesar, courtois who have broken into the team at an early age.

Why would PSG contact him if they can't sign him? Since when did reus become a CAM? Pls sort yourself out.

Cavani and costa can't coexist as both will have to play. It doesn't make sense to buy a striker with so much money and play him on the wing.

Nah certainly an hatched egg now after the world cup experience. Am happy he did not get scared of competition from fabregas and run to PSG just like lukaku ran away (lol). He is a little boss.

We officially have a white drogba at chelsea in Diego Costa. If costa actually plays like this on a consistent basis and against big clubs too then our opponents are in trouble because despite his impact so far he seems only to be catching up on fitness therefore he isn't even fully focused on his game yet. He has unlimited energy like hazard, is strong like drogba, very smart and gives defenders no rest, a very good finisher, unselfish team player, has strong character, intelligent runs, good technique, can dribble and has sound ball control skills. Even when drogba was at his best he was still quite raw, outmuscling players and making staggering runs. With what costa did in the last two seasons its not too early to say costa could be as effective as drogba and based on pure talent alone is a more polished striker than drogba. He seems to be the first striker showing the qualities to challenge or attempt to challenge drogba's history. Its quite early but I totally believe in him. He is a lethal impact player like drogba but is less raw and with more flair although with less leadership skills as drogba.

Sell him with a buy back clause his attitude might just change in the future with maturity. Too bad he is scared to compete, if only he was a fighter like drogba and costa.
