Hehe. I don't agree he has become stupid it's obvious he is trying hard to play and probably training hard too but he is just not applying intelligence to his game right now he is quite raw in his play. I wonder why he has brought his not-so-good form in the belgium NT to chelsea fc

He has to fight for his place, willian, oscar and schurrle are really tough contenders and from what i saw yesterday willian and oscar seem to be in the starting eleven while mata recovers form from the bench, hazard might soon be benched for KDB as well i think. Interesting series of events yet to unfold.

I thought he did ok defensively as that was where he played. He was aggressive defensively which is good. I know he will come good because he has the talent. I think his stay is best because mou has specific plans for him, sending him on loan could change the type of player mourinho wants him to be.

For his qualities he hasn't really been a goal threat this season. If only he could stick to getting behind fullbacks and getting crosses in like willian did several times yesterday he would be more useful in that way at the moment. Where has his intelligence gone?

Eto,o creates more chances than any other striker I have seen in chelsea in the last 10years. I remember when he was at barca he would create 8 chances miss 6 and score 2(especially against smaller teams). He has poor conversion rate compared to the chances he creates but is exceptionally good in creating those chances and still scores a lot despite his misses and he really creates a lot in any given match. He is always a threat as a centre forward for 90 minutes. We will hate him for some very awful misses but we will also love him for his goal tally, threat, and overall contribution to the team. But most importantly he seems to deliver when it matters.

I really hope he comes back to form soon as he is arguably our best finisher in attacking midfield.

So you believe the gap in quality between suarez and the other liverpool attackers is the same with mata and the rest of chelsea attackers? Why compare a banned suarez to mata who is fit and can't secure his position. To answer your last question our team hasn't been improved by mata's presence this season he is simply not playing up to the required standard and when/if he does i'll be the first to tell you so.

Because mata has been our most vital player in past two seasons but i doubt it will be so this season. Neither oscar nor hazard has achieved that status.

Oscar(2oyrs) from brazilian league was different now we have kdb(22yrs),willian(25yrs),schurrle(22yrs) all from very good european leagues. Every one can see how much oscar improved. To cut it very shot for you mata has a lot to contend with much more than last season and i am not talking oscar or hazard alone but four other players i mentioned earlier also.

No one blames mata for any loss but the reality is that we are a lot stronger now even in mata's absence unlike last season where without mata you couldn't even watch a chelsea match because loosing seemed imminent. Using Rvp is not the same you have Rvp and rooney >>> hernandes and welbeck but in chelsea you have mata/hazard/oscar/willian/Kdb/schurrle/Eto'o pick your choice now.

You are right but the point i was making is that he is still important but not as vital as last season(which you stated) where in his absence we always seemed to loose/drop points. This season has been different with schurrle,kdb,willian and a settled oscar and hazard, in fact we haven't lost a match in his absence really and am talking about really tough games against ManU and Bayern which we would have lost awfully last season if mata wasn't playing. All i am saying is that with or without mata just like most other players in our squad we are still very competitive. I only made the statement here because he was our most vital player last season, our player of the year but this season is different there's a lot more quality competition to earn that title.

Just the perfect line-up for me too. This is no game to take for granted considering our failures last season. Other fringe players should only be given game time if all is going as planned( that is 3-0).

It is obvious that mourinho started working on our defence which he has done and he is now concentrating on our attack which truly showed by the amount of chances we created at everton and the high tempo we maintained at a difficult away ground so i don't know why people are complaining as its a long league and from what i saw in the last match all that we need to improve on is finishing and concentration in front of goal which is no fault of the coach. People saying mourinho's subs were a mistake are only speaking in hind sight if he did not make any sub there will even be more complaints moreover oscar and lampard are definitely great players to have as subs. Comparing mourinho to benitez is pointless except you want to be competing for top three under benitez rather than going for the league under mourinho. There is quite a margin in terms of league performance between mourinho and benitez actually. While benitez does very well against top six teams he is hugely inconsistent against average and lower teams but mourinho on the other hand would drop points at tough away games against top six teams(naturally) but is exceptionally good in winning games against average and lower teams and this is evident in his win percentage through out his career at different leagues. As for comparing AVB to mou let's see AVB win a trophy in england first then we can attempt to compare.

Oscar and mata are mutually exclusive i think...but you are quite right oscar's discussion ebbed a bit

In the current chelsea team i assure you that mata won't get so many opportunities to show himself to mourinho. Kdb returned from loan and has shown his qualities, schurrle and eto'o are new and doing fine, hazard and oscar have improved their team performance and we still have willian yet to play. If willian does so well then i will really be afraid for mata because putting up ordinary performances in two games is definitely not the way to compete with some of the most talented young midfielders/wingers in world football. When willian comes into the picture after his debut most of our attackers will crave for only 60 minutes to show their worth which is why mata should really utilise his opportunities now, I really like him but why he is not playing to his standards i don't know, could he be in bad form? May be but there is just no time for that at chelsea now with the competition at hand. He has been our least effective attacker(attacking wise but also defensively) i just hope it is not too late for him.

Mata has been great for us, but honestly he was great in a chelsea team competing for a champions league spot rather than EPL title. Now mourinho has brought in some very good competitors in kdb,schurrle and willian but also hazard and oscar have grown more especially oscar who has shown stability in the team this season and is capable of offering the same level of work rate and dynamism through out the season. Mourinho isn't competing for top four/champions league spot, he wants to win the league so i think mata is still important but no longer vital in a team that wants to win the league and also with very capable replacements(sentiments aside). For me the key players in our team now are peter cech(can't be replaced), ashley cole(a different class from bertrand), Eto'o( u know who) and hazard(that is if willian isn't as good as him otherwise he won't be so important).
