  1. The fact that it's quoted on BBC is not a merit of reliability. Regardless I stand by what I said. Don't cling on every word that has come out of Frank (in this case not even by him) like an obsessive stalker or annoying wife. When people say something that doesn't mean it's unconditional. Things change and so do our plans.
  2. Who? I doubt this guy knows what's going on behind the scenes much more than we do, but either way does that make a huge difference to the overall plot?
  3. There was no FFP in the past. Yes, they were good players, but they were not key for us at the time and we got great deals out of them, not counting the Sturridge one. We are finally run like a self-sufficient club, without counting on Roman to always bail us out.
  4. Two sides of a coin, really. Applying the same logic you could make a point that the club treated him without much respect when his contract was not renewed. I mean if he's a cult icon then the club surely needs to give him a contract that covers the rest of his career, right? That's not how things work though. And what is the cult status all about really? IMO if a player reaches that with a team he needs to work really hard to erase all the great memories he left in all of us for more than a decade. In my eyes putting the shirt of an EPL team, who is not our traditional rival by the way, for six months isn't such a crime against humanity. FFS, when Frank was banging goals and winning silverware in his prime they were in a fight against mediocrity, they have risen up when he was entering the twilight of his career. What he said in 2013 was when he just signed his new one-year contract and I really think he meant it. Probably at the time he said it he never thought he could play for any other team period, not just in EPL. But more than an year has passed since then and you could imagine how many things have changed and we're not really sure how the contract talks went. The only thing that remains is that year old quote that the super sensitive fans are using as a beatstick, which is quite sad.
  5. Frank has built his reputation here over for more than a decade, he gave the club his best years. What kind of responsibility are you talking about? I guess you don't think the club has a responsibility to keep him until he retires, what is Lamps responsible for after he was released? He has shown the respect he has for the club and the fans times and times again, you are the one who chose to have a selective memory from what I read in your other posts as I see you keep mentioning 9/11, AVB and Man City when referring to Lampard and nothing else. Btw, I'm pretty sure you deserve a ban for that picture.
  6. The biggest positive so far is that this is a friendly
  7. I won't tell people how to feel about Frank's move. The way they react has to do with the way they've been grown, their life experience, etc. So IMO people with good understanding of professional sport and why not life as a whole, will respect Lamps' decision given the circumstances and move on, no matter how hard it will be seeing him putting on the shirt of another EPL team. ANd then on the other hand you have a bunch of morons who are calling him Judas and are ready to strip him of his legendary status. What's the use of being a passionate fan if you're acting like a childish prick who thinks the professional footballers are his emotional playthings (a fellow member used that phrase above). Actually that description fits perfectly the always outraged scouser lowlifes.
  8. I would be crushed if the move goes through, but we have no one to blame but ourselves. The club released him and the signed Cesc as his replacement - a player Frank can't stand and even I'm still learning not to cringe everytime I see his face. Everyone agreed it was the best thing for us, that we have to move on even though we're replacing probably our greatest ever player with someone we've hated for years. You know, before anything else football is a business. Then again how could we ask from Lamps not to consider his best career options for whatever reason, it'd be totally hypocritical of us. On another note, while it sucks he could play for another EPL team I guess it could be much worse. To be honest I don't really hate City, just kinda recognize their existence in the title picture in what I could describe as a non-personal rivalry for the EPL title, strictly business. Just imagine him in the red of United, Arsenal or God forbid Liverpool
  9. Then what are you doing here? There are not many (any) good Anderlecht forums around are there?
  10. £28m? Goodbye, thanks for nothing, seeya never!
  11. Still don't forget most of the times unsettled players are sold for somewhat cut price fees. Lukaku has done a great job to unsettle himself over the past year... That being said even Cesc was signed relatively cheap because he was unsettled at Barca and he also turned out cheaper than Shaw as we signed him for £27m.
  12. So apparently Didier was brought back because this whiny little bitch is on his way out. Make sure we get a good amount and he can jog on and become a mid-table star in a team where he's unchallenged for his place.
  13. Anyway signing Drogs can only make sense if we have found a buyer for Torres and we need a short term option for a third striker. If that's not the case I can see the all so sensitive Lukaku packing his bags already.
  14. The signing is totally against our newly adopted philosophy and heavily contradicts the ruthless attitude shown towards Lamps and Ash. We already have a world class striker and a young and promising (albeit quite the moaner) talent up front + Torres. So why sign a soon to be 37 year old Drogba?
  15. I don't get it. Just a month ago the board showed that they are ready to put all the emotions aside and risked looking a little harsh with their approach of replacing legends and veteran players like Lamps and Cole (quite possibly the same will happen to Cech pretty soon). So why bring a 37 year old Didier Drogba? That is totally unnecessary and a huge step back to the positive trend in our transfer policy in the last couple of years, not to mention the complete opposite of the idea of bringing fresh new faces. I am so against this move that I would rather keep Torres for another season than bringing Drogba back.
  16. LOL Now when you mentioned it, his head looks a little out of place, doesn't it? Oh, well
  17. Probably photoshopped, but anyway... Welcome, Filipe!
  18. Nothing against this guy, but for me he is highly overhyped. The suggestions that we could break our transfer record for him are ludicrous.
  19. It's not like we'd have gotten more than 50m (£ or €) for him. Still our best sale ever.
  20. The latest rumours are sending him to Barca. That would be a great transition from one disgraceful club to another. Just perfect.
  21. Very harsh and disrespectful and a bit uncalled for...
  22. I don't like that he is on the verge of moaning his way back to Chelsea, more specifically to the first choice goalkeeper spot, but we'll see how will that turn out.
  23. LOL! Try doing that to Jose, he'll be out faster than a fat kid playing dodgeball.
