*Bump* Now that everyone's favourites from last year Mata and Luiz are not with the club and long time servants like Lamps and Cole are on their way out probably the topic needs some reevaluating. Also the situation with Cech is very unclear and there is a possibility we start the season without all three of our vice captains from the years before (Lamps, Cech and Cole). So as of this moment who do you think deserves to wear the armband when JT is not on the side and who do you see as the future captain of the team?

Happy birthday, Super Frank! It feels like yesterday when you were in your twenties and scored goals for fun. I can't wait to see you see you back home!
-
Apparently, now Arsenal are closing on him...
-
So, two newcomers in the first two fixtures? Bring them on! 16th August, I can't wait!

It's probably a bit too harsh te get a lot of criticism for the game against Algeria alone, he's had similar ones with Everton and WBA. However, when a player is whining in front of the journos the way he did, puts more pressure to him and the backlash to a bad performance is significantly heavier and it makes it easier for people to turn on him. What makes me dislike him even more is his newest media jibe. He doesn't realize how lucky he is to be offered to play for a top team such as Chelsea. He's a fool if he thinks teams like Juventus will suddenly ditch Tevez and Llorente in order to put him in his comfort zone. There'll always be competition when you play with the big boys. Change your attitude or leave already. 40 mil euro sounds nice...

Probably my favourite player from the Brazilian national team. Hope he starts the next game on the right wing instead of Ramires and Hulk (if he's fit).
-
It might be a little cynical of me, but I find it annoying how he suddenly found some form after spending months doing nothing in the blue shirt. And it happened after some reports he might be saving himself/concentration for the World Cup. Now imagine he has a great tournament and when he returns to London he starts the season the same way he finished the last one. I'd suggest him to retire from club football so he can save his best displays for his national team.

LOL at people suggesting we should reconsider signing DC based on what we saw yesterday. Applying the same logic we should totally sell Azpilicueta, because he was awful at the back and while we're at it we should get rid of Cesc before his debut, because he didn't score or assist in his 10-15 minute cameo. How dare he?! Costa was actually among the few of Spain's decent performers yesterday and probably didn't deserve to be subbed.
-
Welcome, Cesc. I wouldn't go as far by saying everything is forgotten, but now you have our full support. Respect the shirt, always give your best and it might not be too long from now when all the fans start geniunely liking you. There is an example you can follow and his name is Ashley Cole.

Just what I was thinking a couple of minutes ago! I totally knew this pic or a similar one is going to appear soon
-
Well he stated there is no chance of him leaving, didn't he? Let's see how long it takes until the next PSG rumour appears
-
I don't visit the non-football treads much but here goes 1. Your first World cup tournament that you remember clearly? 2. Have you been at The Bridge? 3. Do you like video games?
-
So, Lukaku wants to leave because he won't be our first choice striker as we go for Costa. What has he done in a Chelsea shirt to make such demands? All I can think of is missing the decisive penalty in the Super Cup against Bayern and moaning to the press, giving dumb one liners that most reporters use as a beatstick against us. That's it.
-
Would be weird seeing Cesc wearing the blue shirt, but anyway football is a business first of all and people and clubs have to move on from past events for their own good. That being said I won't be rushing to the megastore to buy a Fabregas shirt, if he indeed joins Chelsea...

Am I the only one who likes his badboy personality? Welcome to Chelsea, Diego!

It's only fair to say it's your worst day as a football fan when your all time favourite player leaves your favourite team... A role model for me when I was a kid and without a doubt the greatest player ever to wear the blue shirt. It's a great pleasure to have him in a central place in the Chelsea legacy. I will be painful seeing him playing him for another team, but I'm sure his blue heart will lead him back home once he's ready to hang up the boots. Goodbye, Super Frankie Lampard!
-
I would love to see him here, but I can't see him joining us unless we sell Oscar. I also don't think Liverpool can afford a 30m player, unless they sell Suarez and that's not going to happen.
-
Didn't know Lambert was a scouse supporter... Anyway, Southampton's team is set to be dismantled completely. So far they have lost their manager, sold an influential striker (Lambert), their top scorer (Rodriguez) has a serious injury and who knows when he'll be able to play, their top stars (Lallana and Shaw) are going to be sold and the future of some of their other important players (Schneiderlin, Lovren, Wanyama) remains uncertain.
-
To be honest at some point I had completely forgotten about him. Unfortunately he had a similar fate with Romeu with a season long injury and I expect him to be loaned just like Oriol, without many prospects for the future at The Bridge.
-
They would be, if we are willing to overpay for our every transfer target. That was the case during the first couple of years in Roman's tenure and we made buying highly rated players look easy. Now we're still after top players, but this time we're only interested if the price is right without letting other clubs milk us. That's why almost done deals like Hulk, Cavani and Falcao didn't go through, we just refused to pay ridiculous amounts for them.
-
Frank of all people deserves to retire here! Come on, Chelsea, you owe it to us! Don't let us see our legend finishing his career with some other club.
-
A when just an year ago he had just completed a great season and was branded by many the future Chelsea captain... Goes to show how unpredictable football is and things can change in a flash.
-
I missed all the show. As much as I like David Luiz, could someone explain to me why PSG are giving us £ 50m for him? If that amount is genuine, as gutted as I feel for selling David, I can't stop thinking of the opportunities to reinvest.
