I just don't understand how the DM and other tabloids get away with grossly misrepresenting what people say and produce mis-leading, shock-jock headlines. I also pity the twits that read it (in my area there are many who have it as their daily paper) and take what it says as gospel.

Love the guy but we are a better team without him. Didn't think he was bad today but with Oscar and Willian we just have greater coherence and intensity. It's a real shame, I don't idolise players but he has been fantastic for us for two years but I think for both his and Chelsea's sake he needs to move on either in Jan or the Summer, depending on the options available. I think a little too much is being made of his reaction when being subbed off. Yes, it was petulant. Yes, he is smart enough to know cameras will pick it up. But it is a tiny mistake which shows his frustration with his current situation, a reaction that anyone who is competitive enough to be a pro sportsman would have (IMO). I know if I was in his shoes, going from Chelsea's POTS for 2 years in a row having won the CL etc to being 2nd choice I would be pissed off, whatever the reasons were for it. Anyway, hopefully we can resolve this quickly and positive outcomes can be achieved for both the club and Mata. Just don't sell him to a league rival...

Chelsea report loss of £49.4m for the financial year
Mr_President replied to Toli's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Yeah that's right. My original post meant to convey my hope that if we were looking to do a major stadium redevelopment or moving completely (thereby eliminating the capacity issue in terms of exits) - I hope that we factor in a standing sections into the plans. -
As I say that Spurs score.

Utd playing well.

Chelsea report loss of £49.4m for the financial year

Never said it was a priority, but as a match-going fan I definitely think it will improve stadium atmosphere, allow higher capacity (assuming we can improve the transport facilities to cope) and maybe, just maybe, reduce ticket prices for the standing zones. Why wouldn't you want it? Loads of people pretty much stand anyway and this would actually be safer and allow more people to get to games. -

Well, here's to hoping we can get the stadium improvements we need. + I hope that the club factors in the introduction of safe-standing into its plans. -
Howard Zabaleta Mertesacker Lovren Shaw Toure Ramsey Fernandinho Rooney Aguero Suarez These are players I think have consistently played well this season. This is not me saying this is the best XI in the PL if all players played their best. Harsh to leave Oscar and Hazard out but I don't feel they have been consistently better than Toure, Ramsey or Fernandinho. I'm sure by the end of the season at least a few Chelsea players will be in there!

Thanks for coming over here and taking the time to post; it's always great to hear opposition fans' views (especially from overseas). Your English is fine, by the way.
-
Surprised he didn't shatter like glass. Thanks for posting that.

Probably was a peno on Suarez for the last one but I don't see how LFC fans can feel robbed for not getting it awarded, it's not like they were robbed of a scoring position or anything. It was a foul, but it seems a little rediculous to award a penalty (near certain goal) for it - I know this seems contradictory but a penalty seems massively disproportionate to the offence. Also, no way JT fouled Suarez on that FK, if that's a foul, Skrtel (sp?) will have conceded 2+ penalties each game. So happy with the result but the performance was excellent, too. High pressing, great energy etc.. especially in the Xmas period, it is really impressive.

Little star, Oscar.

Take a bow, Eden! Not only electric, exciting and dangerous.. but also incredibly hardworking and clever. Rarely lost the ball despite being kicked into the ground and knew how to hold it up and draw fouls when necessary. Well deserved MotM performance. Exciting that he is so young and still has so far to go.
-
Great performance from him, he was all over the pitch (in a good sense)... Here's to hoping he starts more games.
-
Just left the bridge w/ my little bro... took him to his first Chelsea game for xmas and what a fucking game. So proud of the players, esp Oscar & Hazard. Happy new year, gents!
-
Hopefully not to us.
-
fuck. Ramires suspended for next game?
-
Fucking hell Eto'o.
-
Awesome. Merry xmas all!
-
Jesus fucking wept. Give the guy some time to get things going. We are two points off the top and it can only get better.
-
Decent result, 2 points off the top. Onwards and upwards.

Some of you boys... I really hope no one is suggesting anyone should even be thinking of sacking Mourinho, at least for the next season or two. This gung-ho 'sacked if he doesn't win PL/CL' / ' sacked if he doesn't emulate Barcelona/Dortmund/current bandwagon style of playing' has to stop: it encourages short-termism as managers are so shit scared of losing their jobs that they play defensive football and don't trust the kids to come out and play (one of many fans' gripes with Mourinho). He is right. We are in a transitional phase, as much as I hate that term. He needs to have to confidence of the board, the owner and the fans to get on with his job and build his team. Fact is, our squad isn't good enough to win the league compared to city. We are no match for the heavyweights in the CL, either. What we need is a manager to build on the foundations we have and to take us to the next level; Mourinho is our man for that. He is capable of having teams that play exciting football (see Madrid etc.) notwithstanding the fact that they had many great players. Patience and calmness is required.

ahahhahahahahhhahahahahah yes!

Pretty happy with that game to be honest. Now we all hope Torres plays like that for the rest of the season... that would be awesome. Mata is a little genius and needs to start.
