He does get in those striker position more often cos he is one of our fastest players. But that does not mean he is the best finisher. The game he scored that awesome goal vs Tottenham he also fell on his face attempting to shoot on empty goal. He scores some nice goals but he also misses and he is not exactly a regular scorer. One could argue Ivanovic is our best finisher. cos he scores most of his efforts from close range. in fact, Lampard is our best finisher. He can do it from any kind of distance and position with both feet and his head. He has done so over a decade on a consistent basis.

TBF the two goals vs Munich were ok, esp the counter and Hazards goal / the own goal vs Villa was decent play too. We can play decent football but we have to be more consistent in creating and finishing chances.

Yes, should have rested. Another reason to start KDB. He was not 100% anyone could see that. He faced 3 men most of the times on the left, so he had no real chance and moved backwards. Though he got tackled most of the times so I'd agree with Barbara adn Bluesmaster and encourage him to take them all on. Today would have been just his kind of game. Faster and more robust than both mata and Oscar and with higher workrate than both. He is also our only accurate crosser, effectively. I'd always pick him over Schürrle tbh.

He should have scored at least one goal. Ramires cross was perfect and he headed wide. When the ball came to him and the goal was open he rushed his finish. he should have been aware of barry. He only had to stop the ball before shooting and letting barry tackle air. But he does pass miles better than Torres, who loses about every second ball because of inaccurate passes and his headless chicken runs. His workrate was ok and he made good runs.
