Bats stumbled clear on goal. Classic
-
Gilmour has to gain some brawn. His tackles are softer than air.
-
Refs have fucked us all game starting with the softest pen ever
-
They are switching to 442 i guess. I think we should be able to gain control of the midfield when we take off that clown gilmour
-
We eventually will but our corners are consistently shit and we hit the bar a couple of times still.
-
Jamed and Gilmour have been absolute pants
-
Alonso is so out of his depth. Flattered by a run of decent games but still a shit player Great goal by bats amazing strike
-
As soon as we are behind we start wastinh our chances its probably a mentality thing. Utd on the other hand can only go in front with penalties or stupid errors from opponents. They are so damn poor on the ball

You are somewhat right. If we would just throw enough money at it, we probably could eventually land a player like Mbappe the City/psg way. We would need a richer owner first tho. (we gave the cash already but the deal would never be sanctioned by Roman) ..but do we really still wanna be a buy-it-all club? Chelsea is not a retort club like those two but one with massive tradition. The path of growing from within we have recently chosen is the right one IMO. Mega deals unhinge the wage structure and foster egos.i think you hit the nail on the head with expanding the brand tho. We are the best club in the global capital, the most influential city in the world (London is top of all corresponding rankings like the global city ranking, GaWC, the city power index etc). We should leverage that way more. It is kinda hard because there are so many clubs from here but if owner/board were as visionary and ambitios as you then we would be much further.

Yup but Deschamps has no interest in burning Kante for meaningless games. Also why should he call up a player who has not features in weeks and is thus not match fit? Would be really stupid but then again it is Deschamps

they have received twice as many penalties as the next team. Yet they have only scored 2 of 6. How pathetic is that? I guess it is becasue ManU are the most popular club in China and US, the mos timportant foreign markets they get all possible support from FA. Still, it won't help them, I can see them finising outside the top 6.
-
I hope Lamps lets both of them sit out the next international break starting Nov 9 as well. Otherwise they will probably come back with aggravated injuries.
-
I think a main difference is that OGS was just an ok player for ManUre whilst Lampard was absolute world class and is our greatest ever player and thus commands way more resepct within the club including the squad so he will definitely be given more time. Also Lamps has managed to transform the squad such that we now are very balanced with a lot of young players buying into Lampards ideas, and who can still be moulded whilst ManU have a very heterogenous group consisting of the remnants of various untuned shopping sprees of toxic egos, followers, a few fairly decent players and a few middling talents. That being said they are still more experienced than us in key positions so it will be a close call tomorrow and it is not guaranteed to stay this way if we become complacent. In the end however the main reason for ManUre's demise is unrelated to OGS but rather the consequence of Utd being run to generate shareholder value rather than win trophies. Especially their IPO has been the final nail in their coffin.

Even though this is just a 2nd round Carabao Cup game vs a poor ManU side this game is massive. They are somewhat in form again and we have unfinished business with them. I have always hated Utd more than City, Tottenham, Arse and Pool as they were our greatest rival when I started watching regular Chelsea games in 2006 and they had such an unlikeable squad back then as they have now. Albeit they are hardly direct rivals for us since Fergie left I hate losing to them even in tiny competitions. further, this young chelsea side yet has to win vs a big club domestically so about time to get that monkey off our back.

The ban gave us no choice, any sane fan would understand that. But his showings last season were so inconsistent that we surely would not have signed him without the ban. Now it does look a masterstroke with all the injuries. 40m was an absolute steal given how young he still is. Even if he does not add another dimension to his game like producing output as a technical DM together with Jorginho they can control most games pretty much like the Modric-Kroos connection.

Goalies often get caught grounded for looping shots when they are unable to read the trajectory properly and then look bad it goes in right between their outstretched hand and the crossbar. The only two solutions to this are height and experience.
-
Willian will retain his place after his solid overall performance and his goal was well-taken. Their goalie dealt poorly with all those low shots tho. this shows just how much quality we have. CHO came in as undisputed starter, then Pulisic starts performing again and he is out of the first XI.

Lamps is obvviously not gonna throw anyone under the bus in public after a 4-2 win. But surely we can improve on what we seen today. The first 20 mins were nervy af and the last 10 minutes we had a few needless turnovers. If we do this vs ManU and Rashford has a good day again, we are gonna be in trouble.
-
I dont think Alonso has anything to do with those goals conceded As you said it is clearly jorgi and Kovas positioning that allowed those shots to be taken as they should be sitting right there in front of defence when the opposition have the ball but toher than that the jorginho kova pivot has allowed us dominate about every match they played in. For big games it is obviously great to have Kante back but in his absence this is probably the best we can do defensively.
-
what a performance from the diminutive American. Great goals and well-rounded overall performance. Can not be overlooked in the next few games. Lets hope he does better than last game vs ManU.
-
Yes so that 3 goals did not quite serve as the wake up call we hoped. lets hope this time it works. i could not stand losing vs such an inferior ManU team.
-
a win is a win. we made the most of our chances. the gloss is off but who cares. I think we were passive for both goals conceded but at 4-0 it is understandable. Lamps will still have a word about that. Great away support as usual.
-
dont panic now. jsut pick them off.
-
now this is embarrassing. dafuq are we doing there. nice reminder we are not perfect yet. dont allow stupid shots.
-
that would be a case for VAR with that clear foul on pulisic. completely unconsistent the use of technology
