  1. Exactly that - why would fans react badly? It's not just fans it's the clubs hierarchy. Guus has a pretty good legacy as a manager, that's the problem with experienced managers, they are unlikely to gamble big as too much to lose, whereas younger unproven managers can gamble. I guess we will see over the remaining games if younger players get a chance
  2. I think you will see younger players get a chance now - absolutely nothing to play for, it would have been stupid for Guus to try out unproven players as if we had lost even more games, he would have been slaughtered for it. If you don't understand that, then I can only surmise that you haven't been in a position of leadership. To pick the so called best players and lose = little egg on face, there's no room for criticism. To play the youth over 'experienced' players and fail = massive egg on face as every 2 bit hack and Internet warrior would have claimed CL place would have been possible with 'experienced' players. Therefore, in my eyes Guus is blameless in this scenario. You watched Chelsea vs City right? I'm just checking because City did what you suggested and it was a shower of shite performance, I didn't see one potential star in their youth players... We humiliated them. So the fallacy that youth = great players, who will win - is pretty much just that, a fallacy... There is also the sad reality that the youth just might not be good enough The step-up is huge - this is why we need the B Team system in England/Wales - will definitely give youngsters a more accurate platform in which to develop their skills I can see you're angry about the season and the team in General but moaning about Guus is a step too far in my humble opinion. He's fine a decent job here and knows it's temporary, he has conducted himself on/off the pitch with the utmost professionalism and has helped the team gain some semblance of attacking play. If Conte is coming, I expect done big signings and a night/day change to our performances next season....
  3. Massively overrated player - good but not the best
  4. Great - hiring a banned coach ??? next we will sign Sharapova ???
  5. Chill dude - 1 bad season since mid 90's!!! happens to everyone - look at United, look at Liverpool, Arsenal etc. No point in chucking the towel in, think of the team like an 'engine' - just one knackered component can bring the whole thing to a shuddering halt. Fix the broken part(s) and the engine is back up and running again. (Broken parts = defence and midfield imho)
  6. 1, 2, 5, I mean 3 - he's a witch! Burn him, burn him!!!! Eden isn't a superstar, he's just a very naughty boy! Peoples front of Hazard? Fuck off! Hazard front of people!!!! Man this thread is gold ??? So much 'humble pie' to be eaten it could feed all of the Syrian refugees for years
  7. 3 game ban, £20k fine written all over it
  8. Time to bring in the kids - 9 games, shut up shop early and let the U21's play the rest of the season Then we know who we need to buy in the summer
  9. Lol I guess - there's many players to choose from - which is a sad state of affairs i agree with some other posts I have seen from you - MAJOR clear out in the summer required
  10. I see Hazard is again the focal point for our loss Those wishing him out of the club, be careful what you wish for, he could end up leaving and then we would regret it against the next team he plays for. The lad has injury problems - is probably carrying a bit too much weight and has zero confidence how the mighty fall huh - he pretty much dragged us over the line for the EPL title, has a bad season and is now set to be hounded out of the club!!! seriously, think some people need a reality check I hope he stays and I'm confident that next season, the un-injured Hazard will be back!
  11. Or abig part to play in deciding the title
  12. Absolutely mate - these are the nights that separate the 'men' from the 'boys' - time to stand up, be counted and show why you were signed in the first place. Oh I miss not being at the Bridge on CL nights - the atmosphere was electric, spine tingling, I really would love another CL final too where we were 3-0 up after 15 mins so I could sit in my seat and not have about 30 heartattacks I just have a sneaky feeling this could be our night!
  13. Oops sorry dude - I thought you would have picked up on: well rounded = fat ??? we already tried the well rounded approach and the players were shite ??? i do agree with your original point !
  14. Cost us easy points? Have you seen the league table? The world has evolved and now there is no such thing as 'easy points' - those days are history, now any club can beat another. Criticise the substitutions as much as you want, but at that point, to me, it's the scraping of the bottom of the barrel on negatives to find.., ????
  15. Sigh clearly the league is just dead water now, so Guus has to concentrate on CL and FA Cup. I have no problem with him trying out different things in a meaningless game, the other Prem games are also meaningless. Nobody on this forum would have picked the team that ended up winning the CL final. The players also know they don't want to miss out on Wednesday - so will not be going for 50/50's as they don't want to get hurt. You can complain all you want, but that's just human nature. I really do fear for the next manager with some of the comments on here about Guus. Whatever you think he has done an amazing job and steadied the ship massively. We were getting regularly beaten and beaten easily, now, we don't lose, but either win or draw, yet that's still not good enough??? some of you need to take a good hard long look in the mirror and work out if you really are supporting the club, or whether a personal agenda is driving your complaints. Sad times indeed on here and I had hoped these kind of days were long gone
  16. Wow so much negativity in here! We aren't scared of Barcelona, so why fear PSG? Yes, we will need a brilliant 9/10 performance from all of our players, but fuck me they owe us one this season! I have high hopes of us beating them - work on the counter attack and definitely close the channels and restrict the midfield. If our players put in 100% I can see a 3-1 here to us
  17. Thursday? Don't you mean Wednesday ????? I know this season is bad, but it's not Europa League bad ???
  18. I think we have seen this season that multiple 'rounded' players is not a good strategy ???
  19. It's just been one of those seasons - Willian hardly impressed in his first full season! Some players take longer than others, he's on a learning curve right now and this will see him sink or swim, personally I think he'll be ok and Begovic is a great replacement if not.
  20. I believe that about as much as I think Wenger is a tactical genius ???
  21. I would put him in as Director of Football IMHO. I would move Emanelo sideways and give him a Director of Player Development role. i know people are slating him for team selections, but I don't consider them that bad, he sees the team every day in training and ultimately it's his call and our form has been amazing since he took over. I think people forget sometimes that there is an opponent and sometimes players are asked to do a certain job to nullify the opposition, I see Guus using this tactic. I also think the people complaining about his use of younger players need to 'chill out' he's not afraid to pick younger players, but winning the game is essential and he has to select the best team to achieve that goal. Hope he is around, it's so nice not being plastered all over the papers and Daily Mail everyday, let the 'football' do the talking is always the best strategy
  22. Ouch - I don't think you can generalise that much, there will always be people that cannot be pleased. But, for me it was hard to admit Mourinho had to go and results since have done little to change my mind. Mou is a great short-term manager if you want to win something quickly, that's still my belief. He cannot build, nor assemble a legacy team. Anyway, back on topic - C'mon Leicester ???
