Oh, ok i see what you are asking now. Basically. ATM: Mikel is too slow, and seems very lethargic on the ball, and off the ball. He offers little in the build up play (which isn't a problem if he is next to someone like modric, but he isn't). Ramires, will run all day up and down, but pasisng has left something to be desired, lacks some physicality and isn't a DM, or DLP. Lampard is the greatest! But in all seriousness, he doesn't offer enough in defence, unless he has someone who can be more defensive orientated next to him. Imo, a Luiz/Lampard or Luiz/Ramires Pivot provides a blend of Defensive abilty and some roaming forwards. Luiz, imo, is able to sit in when needed, as after all he is a defender, but he can go on those marauding runs forward. He also is better passing from deep than mikel and ramires.

I can see Mourinho making him vice captain of lampy leaves.

What i am saying is that imo, he is better in defence... However, he is better than the options wenhave in midfield as well. If we had a DM who was better than mikel then I would say to play David Luiz in defence, but David Luiz isn't that much better than Ivanovic, Terry, and cahill... Whereas atm he is a lot better than mikel in midfield. So, I think individually he is better in defence but as a team we benefit more from him in midfield.

I think we gain more from him being in midfield as a team than from him in defence. Purely because our other midfield options arn't good enough atm, and our other defencive options are good enough.

We can think about that for a couple of moths if we win the EL, and they win the CL. Don't see why we would get smashed. The team could be very different. ADD Mourinho, Falcao/other striker, and a good DLP and i reckon we will give them a real good game.

I think they will drop points elsewhere tbh. Obviously we should assume that, but i would be very surprised if arsenal and tootenham both got more than 7 from the final 3.

I am fully aware of the ramifications of not getting top 4. The key game is the tottenham game. If we lose that, then it won't be because we started hazard and co a week and a half ago. The united game we can still win, but a point there and we are still in great shape. Top 4 is absolutely essential, because our team deserves to be playing CL. But your "Who is going to sign for chelsea in the summer" question, wouldn't be my huge concern. Jose would be my worry if we didn't get top 4. But lots of reports saying its prettty much done. But in player terms, we have a quality team, who is very young, so i don't think we need a lot of players to come in.

It's no ones cup of tea. 95% of people on here would rather have top 4. But if we don't get top 4 it won't be because we played a fairly strong team against Basel at home.

Because we have come this far, so may as well try and win something this season. We SHOULD win if we rest those players, but, i don't really want to take that chance, and i am going so would prefer to see something other than a bus being parked.

Modric... May not love Mourinho, but at Chelsea it would be a different situation, and he would be able to get regular game time. Would be a great playmaker for the pivot. I do like ozil a lot, but i am not sure exactly where he would fit in, so based on out needs, i would have to go with benzema/higuain.

Suarez and Mata have been the only 2 consistent high level performers for the whole season... And Suarez is an A-HOLE! Never expected Mata to get it, because he didn't have that big surge like some of the other players had, which got people to take notice... Even though he didn't have a big low like those players had as well. Mata has been the most assistful. And has scored in double figures as well. Mata and Hazard best duo in the premier league...

So people have clearly forgotten the first half of the season when he was crap.

He has been brilliant against us (with his feet) But other than that he has been a bit better than average... Today vs Arsenal. Walcott shot right at him, and it went through him. Cech is better in my highly biased opinion.
