Well i agree that Luiz receives more criticism then he should but he's playing in a new position so it's kinda logical that people are going to pay more attention to him and yes criticise him more. About the Everton goal: Hazard did gave away the ball but there were still 6 players of us behind the ball. More then enough to handle the Everton attack. Cole gets caught out of position (if i'm not mistaken it was because he was trying to overlap Hazard.) You can clearly see when Pienaar takes the shot how both Lampard and Luiz are a couple of metres away from him. If either one of them makes the effort to run the couple of metres and mark him then he can't shoot. Luiz should have marked Pienaar. He was the most defensive midfielder and should have marked him. It's his job to pick up runs from midfield and track them. He didn't and it led to a goal. "Hazard never gets criticism" Seriously ?

I actually think it's the other way around. People are focusing on Falcao because of Torres. Noone wants to go through another striker that can't score and pisses away easy chances so now they want a striker that excels at finishing.
-
What did he do or say ? Do you have a link ?

Agree with the fact that we lack balance. disagree with needing to be tougher and having more height/strenght. We're caught between 2 styles. Counter-attacking and possession football. Our front 4 are best suited at playing possession while our midfield and back four just aren't. We're not playing out from the back like we should. Our midfield lacks any sort of creativity or forward movement. Our front four aren't great at finishing and in counter attacking football finishing saves your life. You need to be clinical with your chances. If you can't finish 1 of the couple of chances you get your fucked. (Last game against Corinthians, got chances, didn't finish ended up losing the game.) It's basically about choosing what direction to go as a team. Seeing as how we invested around £80 000 000 to play possesion football i suggest we keep following that style of play. So sort out our midfield : Get a smart DM who's good on the ball. Of the 3 midfield players 2 of them need to be able to pick out a pass, be creative, have good off the ball movement and be able to pass in close spaces while under pressure. Get a striker : Torres just isn't good enough. Get a striker who's got good hold up play, good touch, who can finish. Play out from the back (even when getting pressed.)

Lol Lamps his face. He's like " Dude seriously ?! "

I agree that he needs to regain form but the entire team hasn't been playing well. So why is it just him that's getting criticism ? A 21 y old in his first season. Young players need to be nurtured.
-
i really don't care what you think. So stop quoting me.
-
Mata was poor today aswell. But yeah lets all just blame the 21 y old. Nice and easy.
-
You idiot.

This. He just doesn't fit into our team. His best position is as AM but we already have 3 players who can and want to play there. Why pay 30-40 million for a player and then play him on his second or third choice position ? People saying he'd be a great plan b / plan c: I like having a plan b and plan c but what's the point in paying so much money for a player that doesn't fit into our plan a ? Instead of focusing on a strong physical DM we should focus on an intelligent DM. One who's got great tactical awarness, knows how to position himself, doesn't lunge into tackles and is comfortable on the ball.

Hazard isn't that mentally fragile. Also that's like the worst case scenario. Like Choulo said he's kinda in a similar situation as Mata.

Well i agree that Oscar needs to improve on his positioning but that's basically down to experience on that position and the right coaching. The thing is i think our requirements for the double pivot are different because we're trying to play a different kind of football. Imo 1 of the double pivot needs to be a creative player who can pass the ball quick, accurate and move forward. I don't agree with Oscar having to pick his runs. Personally for me the fifth man is necesarry to play possession football and should always move forward. 1 holding midfielder shielding the back four is more then enough when we're in possession.
-
Agree, personally i think we've been playing him a bit too much. Especially seeing how his explosivness is 1 of his main strenghts. Also he really has to defend a lot more then he's used to. I think that's an aspect which he's really improved on in his short time here but it's draining more energy of him which he normally uses to attack.
-
Mate i get that 32 million is a lot of money for a player and that you want to see real quality but you have to remember he's 21 years old at a new club that's going through a transition phase, in a physical league , in a new country not to mention the pressure of that big price tag. Give him some more time. PL is probably the hardest league to adapt to because of the physicality and quick tempo.
-
I agree that he was poor today and lost the ball too many times but i prefer him trying to dribble opponents, try to make something happen, rather then just passing it back. Ofcourse he needs to have more succesfull dribbles but i want him to run at players.
-
Wow that's kinda harsh. Thought he was good in possession. Offered that extra man in attack. Defensively he showed a lot of energy. I agree that at times there was a lot of space in the midfield but i think that was more to do with not having a DM on the pitch. Rami and Oscar are both very aggressive when defending. So i don't think it's fair to only blame Oscar for it. I think Oscar playing alongside a DM could work very well.

Chelsea in pole position for Guardiola

Yeah it really is. Pointless discussing any further if his argument is "any manager would have done the same thing." Pep is a great manager and deserves a lot more credit then he is getting. -

Yeah a very simplistic view of things. Pep tweaked the system to play to the strenghts of his team. He helped Messi become the player he is today. He was the one who started playing Messi on the false 9 position. How come Spain won the EC and WC without Messi then ? Spain play the exact same way as Barcelona do. Pep is a great manager and would be the best manager to have in our current situation. -

I agree with you. I think Mourinho's main strenght is that he can make a team rise above themselves. He's not a builder. He's an instant succes manager. He prefers experienced players, relies on their discipline and always tries to play direct counter attacking football. That's not what we need. We need someone who can develop young promising players and implement players into a new system. -

Pep took a team of promising players and turned them into a worldclass team. They were already a good team but he took them to a whole other level. You can have the best 11 players in the world but that doesn't mean a thing if you can't get them to play a system. Team effort always beats individual brilliance. -
Joe Cole was here for 7 years, Hazard has only been here for 4 months... Give him time to develop. Also i don't really get why you had to post this. Noone mentioned Ronaldo or anything like that. People on here just liked his performance, liked his dribbles and want to see more of it. Don't see what's wrong with that. Personally i think he can become a player like Ronaldo, Messi. Ofcourse not an exact copy but you know, a game changer. A player who can win a game with 1 brilliant moment. Someone who the oppositions fears.
-
From now on you'll post that before every game.

Now that's more like it ! Great game. Made some great runs. Especially the one that set up torres second goal. Should always try to run at players like that.
