Secret door number 3 : We buy a cheap(well relatively cheap for us (around £15 million)), striker who excels at link up play, who's strong and can hold up the ball. That's really an area where we're lacking. None of the three strikers we have excel at this. Lukaku is the best of the three strikers in this area and it's probably the weakest aspect of his game. Keep Ba as a third option and try and sell Torres. If we can't sell him just put him in the stands. Going into the season with only Lukaku as our only reliable striker isn't enough. We need a second option, someone who can come in when Lukaku isn't in the game, someone who can be properly rotated with Lukaku without losing to much quality.

But do you really want to go into the season with Lukaku, Ba and Torres ? Torres is simply not good enough, Lukaku is still very raw and Ba has shown that he's not good enough to be our main striker. A quality striker needs to come in.

Because ramires prefers to play in a 3 man mifield, Mikel prefers to play in a 3 man midfield, Lamps prefers to play in a 3 man midfield (okay lamps won't be a first team player but he'll be used as a squad player) A 3 man midfield would also make it easier to implement DeBruyne and Oscar into it. Because of this we wouldn't have to go and buy a DLP. Also 4-3-3 offers a better defensive shape and if you look at our squad we have Mikel, Ramires, Lampard, Essien, Romeu. All 5 of them prefer to play in a 4-3-3 + there's already 5 of them without adding Oscar or DeBruyne + we're looking to add another midfielder. Like i said before only Mata would be effected negatively apart from that the 4-3-3 only has pro's for the rest of the team.

Agree that we need to buy the right players but why the 4-2-3-1 ? It would take less buys to play the 4-3-3. Come on, we all know that there's only 1 player that benefits from the 4-2-3-1 and that's Mata. Hazard, Cavani and Lukaku aren't going to be effected that much. Yes you build your team around your best players, plural not just 1 player. Hazard played a 4-3-3 with Lille so he knows the formation. Ramires knows it,Mikel knows it, Lampard knows it, our entire defense, apart from ,Azpi knows it. Over half our team has more then enough experience playing the 4-3-3 so it won't be such a big adjustement.

Agree on the CM he just doesn't have the stamina to play there but disagree on the RW. Imo a lot of people are exaggerating the amount of influence Mata would lose by playing there. It's not like he'll suddenly turn into a pub player if we put him on the wing. Also people are soley crediting his increase in goals and assists to him playing on the AM pos. which is wrong imo. We have to take into account that this season he wasn't our only creative player. He had Hazard and Oscar in support which relieved some pressure off of him and gave him more space to work with. I think that playing the 4-2-3-1 just because of Mata would hold our team back. Mata might lose a bit of influence but not as much as some people want to believe.

Thanks for the replies. Didn't think we'd have that much trouble filling it. I don't know i would just have build a 80 k stadium and then just close of the highest tier when playing against smaller teams and definitely lower the ticket prices to boost attendance. But it probably wouldn't have looked so good with the highest tier being empty.

I've got a question. Why only a 60 000 seater ? Seems a bit small if you compare it with other top teams. Barcelona 99 000, Man united 75 000, Real Madrid 85 000, Ac Milan 80 000, Bayern 70 000. Shouldn't we go for somewhere around the 80 000 mark maybe a bit more seeing as we'd have the newer stadium ?
