They are a selling club. Does Inter have that kind of money ? PSG are the only real contenders and Mata isn't going to be the only CAM on the market. And you think that if we had refused the offer for Mata Man united would have just quietly sat around and lose CL football ? Man united is spending big this transfer window. Whether it's Mata or someone else, it's happening. I highly doubt we'd be able to get £30 million for Mata in the summer. Another 6 months of squad player, no world cup, clubs not as desperate to sign players, more players for sale in the summer. £37 million is a good deal, not ideal because of selling to a rival but a good deal nonetheless.

How about this for a plan : - We sell Mata for £37 million. - Buy Salah (who actually fits the system we're playing) to replace Mata as a squad player. - Buy Shaw/Costa now. - Buy the one we don't get in the summer. - Sit back and watch us demolish every team we come across including man united with Mata.

Not as much as you think. Chelsea only gets a small percentage on the sold shirts. Most of the money from shirt sales goes to Adidas and small percentage also to the store that sell them. So he still costs us a lot more money then he brings in (both on and off the field).

Yes, none of them are good enough to play for us. If possible we should get rid of them all, bring in a top quality striker in the summer and bring back Lukaku. No he doesn't have an ego and no he's not a problem in the dressing room. He is however on £175k/week. So would be nice to get that off our books.

Torres isn't a world class striker no matter who you compare him to. He's also not even in the slightest important to us. The sooner we get rid of him the better. He's by far the worst signing we have ever made.

Also I remember clearly that the English media actually went a bit further and were spitting out numbers like 200k or even 250k and then wrote and entire article on how he was going to be the top earner of the PL. Just so it could fit with the image of Hazard being a mercenary and only choosing Chelsea because of money.

Well i meant more in the sense of creative passing. Although i wouldn't call them creative, they're technically gifted players but they really don't create a lot of chances. It basically ties in with what you said . Dembele and Witsel take 2 long on the ball. They prefer playing it sideways or holding on to the ball rather then make a forward pass. For Witsel it's understandable as he plays as a DM so it makes sense to not take a lot of risks. We lack a player who can really set the tempo and hit those long range passes that speed up the play. We lack a Gundogan, Alonso type a player. And indeed Wilmots his lack of tactical knowledge doesn't help either.
