https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12381101/Chelsea-transfer-news-tammy-abraham-and-michy-batshuayi-close-to-stamford-bridge-exits Why does it say on the headline, that Chelsea 'need to sell'. It is good that we are balancing our spending with our outgoings, but it does surprise me that are net spend will not likely be high, considering that we won the UCL. Is the money there to spend or we just have a very good squad so they feel major money spending is not needed. Because I don't see how we need to sell, however City are spending god knows how much on Grealish and possibly Kane.

Brilliant start to the season. Total domination from start to finish. Chalobah starting at RCB was such a big vote of confidence from Tuchel. Bare in mind all of our CB are fit, I was initially thinking when I saw him in lineup, it was Tuchel assessing whether he wants him in the squad or on loan, however to see him in the team today, showed Tuchel was really impressed with him. He rewarded Tuchel for trusting him also. I love his style of play. He is fast, very confident on the ball and is confident bringing the ball out also. Despite all the incoming and outgoings, one thing we have kept up really well is the amount of players in the squad, coming from academy. Three starting players in the team from academy and ended up with 4 on the pitch. Impressive. Jorginho and Kovacic were dominant in that midfield. Kovacic's energy levels are amazing, especially when you consider he plays the whole match against Villareal, including extra time. Both bossed it. Defo think a CM should be a priority, because Kante minutes need to be managed carefully and if one of Kovacic or Jorginho get injured for instance, then we are extremely light. I do think Mount can do a good cover job if needed there, however we could target a natural CM if needed. That also being said actually, Chalobah good also cover as CM for us. He played in that position for Lorient last season. Things look really good though and not getting complacent as I know we will have our blips, but feel confident about what lies ahead.

Honestly, it is about fucking time we beat them competitively. We need to take advantage of the negative atmosphere at the club and not reinstall confidence in them, which we make a habit of when playing them. Put them to the sword and finish them. Delighted Lukaku will be ready for this. He will raring to go and if he gets chances against that defence, he will be having a field day hopefully.
-
I genuinely think the best is to come from him, but even he has not lived up to the price tag. This is a big season for him. If they actually buying Ramsdale, then you just know the club are trolling their fans.
-
Well some of his choices have been questionable. Emery should have been given more time. I mean the team today they played was poor but spending £50m on White shows they can spend big money when they want. He should of been a lesser priority compared to other areas needing reinforcements. Toney absolutely bossed him and Mari too.
-
Yep, Chalobah defo MOTM for me. Kovacic played the whole game and apart from the error he made early stages, thought he had a decent game too. That recovery challenge he made in extra time, on empty fuel was brilliant too. Another CM is defo needed though and ideally one with a bit of a physical presence and guile also for sure. Kante will have his injury issues and will need careful management. That leaves Jorginho and Kovacic as the only established CM. Should defo target another one, as we are competing on many fronts once again.
-
Chalobah defo worth of a spot in the squad. Can play both CM and CDM as well.
-
Yes, I was joking .. it was just ironic 🙄 🙄
-
That could be considered racist, considering you didn't mention Grealish in that post. I am sure you aren't but just pointing out 😮
-
If Arsenal match the offer, I think that would be his preferred choice. Would rather see him go abroad but let's see if other teams make an offer for him.
-
If Lukaku does not win us the league, it most likely is because City are just too good over a 38 game period. I don't think it would differ with Haaland. However, signing Lukaku for me assures me that we will not be in a top 4 battle once again and can actually be looking towards a title challenge rather than top 4 battle.
-
Well your wording sounds like a person who does not pay much attention to football around the globe. How could you even call him a flop? And as was mentioned above, Italy won the Euros where virtually nearly every single player in that team came from that league. Poor, poor league right? With Lukaku, he can't win. When it's questioned his record for scoring against top teams, it is the fact that he is playing for lower league teams who he has more space to counter but with big teams he finds it more difficult. When he scores goals for fun in Italy against teams who sit deep, it is because the league has poor quality. He has been prolific his whole career and despite his 'flaws' he continues to score goals for fun.
-
WBA are a relegation competing team, who most times don't even have the ball. That is a phenomenal achievement. Also when he plays for Belgium, they are up against teams that sit deep. He scores for Belgium also. The thing is against Italy, he missed chances but he was a danger, just could not convert. The Italian league is notorious for teams playing defensive. He easily thrived in that league. I mean last season, do you really think Lukaku would not have scored 20 goals plus for us with all the chances we created last season?
-
So please answer what I stated above. He already has proven himself in the EPL. What do you have to say about his goalscoring record in the Premier League?
-
We have already made over £50m in transfer fees already. Tomori for £25m. Guehi for around or just under the £20m mark. Sold Moses for just under £4m and sold Livramento to Southampton for £5m. If Abraham was to go then for £40m, the fees sold combined would be very close to what we have spent for Lukaku.
-
That is nonsense. Take your tinted glasses off. Is Premier league a garbage league? Lukaku scored 17 league goals at WBA who are a relegation battling team. 15 league goals in his first season at Everton. In his last 2 seasons at Everton he got 18 league goals then 25 league goals. You just seem like someone who has hatred for him rather than actually acknowledging he has improved.
-
Jorginho too. We are light on CM as it is. No way he is letting Jorginho go. He right now is more crucial to us than Werner. De Ligt rumours are rubbish, I am sure.
-
Atalanta are a very good team who have qualified for the UCL for past 3 seasons. They have had prolific goalscorers and will definitely want a striker who has played in one of the top leagues. Broja would go there and be a back up. Would be ideal for him to go to a team where he will play. Atalanta if they are going to lose Zapata will target a prolific goalscorer or a striker who has proven he can score goals in the top league. The Broja to Udinese links is more likely.

He also said himself that he turned down some flattering offers since he was sacked. I see no reason why he has to lie. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/12271099/frank-lampard-reveals-he-turned-down-flattering-offers-after-Chelsea-sacking

Thank you man. Tuchel like Conte demands a lot from his players so all the players will have to learn to press out of possession and be efficient with the ball. I actually think Havertz can strike up a similar link up combination that Martinez did with Lukaku at Inter. We created so many chances last season and squandered a lot too and while, without Lukaku I think this squad was going places, you think a natural CF is one piece that is missing to an already great squad/team. I mean last 2 seasons we have just about clinged on to top 4 so as long we are not in a top 4 battle and firmly challenging is a massive improvement in its own. City are a top class team and will take a lot displacing them but do I feel we have more chance of that with a natural no.9 coming in? I do.
-
He is not horrible in the air. That is not true. Just because he scored 2 headed goals last season does not mean he is not an aerial threat. In the PL, his time here he scored 23 headed goals which is quite impressive. When the service is delivered to him he can time his jump well. Maddison is well known for his ability to score from range. Last season he only scored from outside the area 2 times, but that doesn’t mean he does not score from range. He misses headed attempts yes, but he provides much more of an earlier threat than Haaland for sure. I’m far from a Lukaku fanboy. I just speak from the facts. I understand people’s critics of him but he is a pure goalscorer and blinkered people like yourself just have one view because you are so against the deal. You called the club short sighted for buying one player in his prime. LOL. Wake up and maybe back the board that they have bought an ex experienced striker at a top level who is playing around other young players. A player who fired Inter to their first league title in how many years and finally toppled of Juve. Maybe give the guy some credit. Anyway I guess this is what the season will bring. Some people will be proved wrong.m, some proved right.
-
I have no doubt Lukaku will be a success here. I mean when you look at all the attributes Haaland has, Lukaku has also. One part of Haaland's game that needs developing for his frame, similar to Tammy is his aerial ability. Does not score enough headers. Lukaku is more accomplished in the air. He is up there with one of the best pure no.9 out there and is a reliable player for goals and staying fit. Sometimes having that no.9 that scares the life out of defenders is needed and Lukaku is one of them. With the chances we create, I have no doubt he will be weighing in with goals. I will actually put money on it that he will be within the top 3 goalscorers next season. He has worked under one of the best coaches around for the last 2 seasons and you can see has been transformed with work on the training field and hard work. He is as it gets for a pure no.9 out there right now and suits the way Tuchel wants to play perfectly.
-
What makes Haaland a winning ticket and not Lukaku? Batshuayi was at Dortmund and scored for fun. Werner too. Haller... It is a very offensive league where attackers flourish. Same way Lukaku is a gamble, Haaland is a gamble. That is naive to say that Lukaku is a risk but Haaland is not. Lukaku actually has experience of playing in the PL and yes some people will say he is a flat-track bully, however his goal record in the PL is impressive. Haaland has never played in the PL before and will also find the PL a total different ball game. Also regarding the club living in the present time, if that was the case we would have been in for Varane, yet we are targeting Kounde.
-
So basically because he scored all those goals for Inter in a 'grandpa' league, where they beat Juventus to the title for first time in 10 years or so, you have worked out that he is on the same level he still was when he left United? Take the tinted glasses off honestly. I also watched Belgium at the Euros. He scored 4 goals or so right and I think generally his performance was good bar that Italy game. I also saw Kane and Mbappe in the Euros and they were poor almost every game. On that note, let's assume Harry Kane is not a top striker then. Or it proves Mbappe is not a top player because he plays in Ligue 1 and was poor in a few games at Euros. It is not logical. Anyway, if he joins which seems is likely, hopefully you eat your words.
-
Just clutching at straws. He was fantastic last season, whatever way you put it. Goals, assists, fired Inter to title. Have your views but he was sensational last season. Let's at least agree on that.
