  1. So please answer what I stated above. He already has proven himself in the EPL. What do you have to say about his goalscoring record in the Premier League?
  2. We have already made over £50m in transfer fees already. Tomori for £25m. Guehi for around or just under the £20m mark. Sold Moses for just under £4m and sold Livramento to Southampton for £5m. If Abraham was to go then for £40m, the fees sold combined would be very close to what we have spent for Lukaku.
  3. That is nonsense. Take your tinted glasses off. Is Premier league a garbage league? Lukaku scored 17 league goals at WBA who are a relegation battling team. 15 league goals in his first season at Everton. In his last 2 seasons at Everton he got 18 league goals then 25 league goals. You just seem like someone who has hatred for him rather than actually acknowledging he has improved.
  4. Jorginho too. We are light on CM as it is. No way he is letting Jorginho go. He right now is more crucial to us than Werner. De Ligt rumours are rubbish, I am sure.
  5. Atalanta are a very good team who have qualified for the UCL for past 3 seasons. They have had prolific goalscorers and will definitely want a striker who has played in one of the top leagues. Broja would go there and be a back up. Would be ideal for him to go to a team where he will play. Atalanta if they are going to lose Zapata will target a prolific goalscorer or a striker who has proven he can score goals in the top league. The Broja to Udinese links is more likely.
  6. He also said himself that he turned down some flattering offers since he was sacked. I see no reason why he has to lie. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/12271099/frank-lampard-reveals-he-turned-down-flattering-offers-after-Chelsea-sacking
  7. Thank you man. Tuchel like Conte demands a lot from his players so all the players will have to learn to press out of possession and be efficient with the ball. I actually think Havertz can strike up a similar link up combination that Martinez did with Lukaku at Inter. We created so many chances last season and squandered a lot too and while, without Lukaku I think this squad was going places, you think a natural CF is one piece that is missing to an already great squad/team. I mean last 2 seasons we have just about clinged on to top 4 so as long we are not in a top 4 battle and firmly challenging is a massive improvement in its own. City are a top class team and will take a lot displacing them but do I feel we have more chance of that with a natural no.9 coming in? I do.
  8. He is not horrible in the air. That is not true. Just because he scored 2 headed goals last season does not mean he is not an aerial threat. In the PL, his time here he scored 23 headed goals which is quite impressive. When the service is delivered to him he can time his jump well. Maddison is well known for his ability to score from range. Last season he only scored from outside the area 2 times, but that doesn’t mean he does not score from range. He misses headed attempts yes, but he provides much more of an earlier threat than Haaland for sure. I’m far from a Lukaku fanboy. I just speak from the facts. I understand people’s critics of him but he is a pure goalscorer and blinkered people like yourself just have one view because you are so against the deal. You called the club short sighted for buying one player in his prime. LOL. Wake up and maybe back the board that they have bought an ex experienced striker at a top level who is playing around other young players. A player who fired Inter to their first league title in how many years and finally toppled of Juve. Maybe give the guy some credit. Anyway I guess this is what the season will bring. Some people will be proved wrong.m, some proved right.
  9. I have no doubt Lukaku will be a success here. I mean when you look at all the attributes Haaland has, Lukaku has also. One part of Haaland's game that needs developing for his frame, similar to Tammy is his aerial ability. Does not score enough headers. Lukaku is more accomplished in the air. He is up there with one of the best pure no.9 out there and is a reliable player for goals and staying fit. Sometimes having that no.9 that scares the life out of defenders is needed and Lukaku is one of them. With the chances we create, I have no doubt he will be weighing in with goals. I will actually put money on it that he will be within the top 3 goalscorers next season. He has worked under one of the best coaches around for the last 2 seasons and you can see has been transformed with work on the training field and hard work. He is as it gets for a pure no.9 out there right now and suits the way Tuchel wants to play perfectly.
  10. What makes Haaland a winning ticket and not Lukaku? Batshuayi was at Dortmund and scored for fun. Werner too. Haller... It is a very offensive league where attackers flourish. Same way Lukaku is a gamble, Haaland is a gamble. That is naive to say that Lukaku is a risk but Haaland is not. Lukaku actually has experience of playing in the PL and yes some people will say he is a flat-track bully, however his goal record in the PL is impressive. Haaland has never played in the PL before and will also find the PL a total different ball game. Also regarding the club living in the present time, if that was the case we would have been in for Varane, yet we are targeting Kounde.
  11. So basically because he scored all those goals for Inter in a 'grandpa' league, where they beat Juventus to the title for first time in 10 years or so, you have worked out that he is on the same level he still was when he left United? Take the tinted glasses off honestly. I also watched Belgium at the Euros. He scored 4 goals or so right and I think generally his performance was good bar that Italy game. I also saw Kane and Mbappe in the Euros and they were poor almost every game. On that note, let's assume Harry Kane is not a top striker then. Or it proves Mbappe is not a top player because he plays in Ligue 1 and was poor in a few games at Euros. It is not logical. Anyway, if he joins which seems is likely, hopefully you eat your words.
  12. Just clutching at straws. He was fantastic last season, whatever way you put it. Goals, assists, fired Inter to title. Have your views but he was sensational last season. Let's at least agree on that.
  13. This is just utter nonsense. It is funny because like I said before Lukaku will have his critics no matter how many goals he scores. In terms of the high pressing we play, him and Haaland are perfectly suited to us. Lukaku could even be considered a safer bet than Haaland as he already has PL experience. Also the age thing, Benzema, Suarez and Lewa are all playing the best footy of their careers at what 33/34 years of age. Lukaku's fitness levels is incredible. Rarely gets injured and is a top all round player who has worked thoroughly on his flaws.
  14. Lukaku's hold up play is a lot better than Tammy's. That was evident last season. Yes he missed chances for Belgium against Italy but he still scored goals at the tournament. Kane was not clinical. Mbappe wasn't. It happens. Like I say if you saw Lukaku last season, it is no way you can say his hold up play did not improve hugely. It did.
  15. Tomo, I respect a lot of your opinions, but I think you are being too harsh on Lukaku. I get some of the scrutiny about us signing him, however his goal record each season is fantastic. I remember you actually thought he would struggle in Italy due to the way the football was played over there and to be fair to him, he has bossed that league easily. Having an ego is not always a bad thing unless you are willing to put 100% into your football and that is what Lukaku does. Let's face it he did not want to fight for his place when he was here but that was how many years ago? A near decade or so right? And let's face it, he probably has come out better and turned out to be one of the best strikers around. I can see why Tuchel wants him tbh. He has all the physical tools and pace. His technique has also improved as well. Conte literally developed his game, past couple seasons. I agree that Havertz can become a top false no.9, but at the same time do I think there will be games where a natural no.9 costs us? I think there will. I also see no reason why Havertz can not flourish playing of Lukaku. Lukaku as proved last season is not just pure goals. He was joint highest in the assist table or so, I am sure. Also if you look at Lewa's goal record at his age, Lukaku for me still has another good 4 years or so in him. His fitness record is brilliant and rarely ever gets injured. The age thing is not a worry for me. Haaland would be first choice for most but looking at our goalscoring troubles last season, I get why Tuchel wants Lukaku. He scores goals with his left, right and header and is clinical as they come. I think he would be a monster here personally. At United, I think he was a good striker who had flaws. Now I believe he is a world class striker. He was completely unstoppable last season and fired Inter to their first league title in how long? He deserves a lot more credit from people imo.
  16. Broja may suit his system better but you are basing it on one game. Inconclusive to say that yet imo. Mount was outstanding in our youth teams and was outstanding on loan at Vitesse and Derby. Broja done very well at Vitesse but did he have the form where you are thinking, "he gets into Chelsea's stikeforce mix next season". I wouldn't say he did. I mean he certainly may fare better with better players but I just think that would be very risky to sell Abraham and not buy another striker.
  17. This is why pre-season is deceiving. One decent/good performance and people believe that is the answer to all our questions. Sometimes the player with a point to prove or looking to eagerly impress the manager often do impress more. I remember Kenedy few seasons ago looking good. I mean if people think Broja is better than Abraham right now, then based on what? Abraham is a proven goalscorer in the Championship and Premiership and also scored more than Broja in the youth set ups too. I think Broja is a huge talent but when the season starts and suddenly he gets thrown in the deep end and looks a little bit lost, then the cries will be "why did we not sign a striker"? Broja had a good first season of professional football but that is it. One season of pro football he has played in the Eredivisie. We will need to see much more games than the Bournemouth one to judge.
  18. Never like the idea of player+cash deals, especially when I believe Zouma is a very valuable asset to the squad. I would rather we pay the clause for Zouma than buy another player and give Zouma away for free as part of the deal. Kounde is very good but PL is a whole different ball game. What is there to suggest Kounde is worth Zouma leaving on a free and paying a sum for Kounde. Zouma is average on the ball but dominant in the air and provides a genuine attacking threat from set-pieces which is always a bonus if we have likes of Ziyech and Mount whipping the balls in. I trust the board if they have identified Kounde. Just don't like the idea of Zouma going as part of the deal.
  19. He is a Champions League winner at the age of 22. How about that.
  20. Lukaku is one of those strikers, he can get 100 goals in a season but people will still have their doubts about him. I agree, he has his flaws but last season he was brilliant. He scored, assisted and ran his socks off. I agree his attitude can stink sometimes, and he is a big moaner but I am pretty sure he will score goals. He is extremely passionate and loves to win/score. I also think he has improved massively since leaving United and worked on his flaws. Conte brought the best out of him.
  21. Fortunately for us, the USA manager said he would rest him for the Gold cup after a grueling season with us. He wants to try out some of the other players also with a view to qualification for the 2022 world cup.
  22. Honestly, DCL is far from a poaches or tap-in merchant. He has brilliant hold up play, is brilliant in the air and also has pace. His game has evolved and he pretty much is a top all rounded striker. I probably would say he is the best header of the ball in the league in terms of providing a goalscoring threat. Allso can play on the shoulder and run past his defender.
  23. They won't pay that amount when they already have Watkins who is their main man.
  24. Other factors may have contributed also that you aren't aware of. There are rumours that his wife wanted to go to Paris as part of her career as there was more opportunities for her there. I don't buy the Ziyech ones. It is not like he was exiled out the squad. I am pretty sure it is that he knows he walks into PSG team and also is receiving more money there than he would here. I wouldn't be surprised if he speaks French also.
