How United got a point out of that is a joke. We dominated them and should of been 3 easy points. Even United at it's worst, manage to still nick something against us. Bloody annoying and allowing them to concede within minutes of us scoring is poor. James MOTM by far. His crossing was brilliant tonight.

I like Lamptey a lot but I still think he has more to work on. Especially his end product. Good at beating a man etc but needs to be more consistent. Has very good balance so doesnt get bullied of the ball but his height can be a issue which other teams will target. Misses way too many games as well. Think someone mentioned him earlier, but I really like Djed Spence. Looks a brilliant prospect. But I think he will be looking to go to a PL team to start which he can easily do. At us would not be guaranteed starter.

They have also looked quite decent on the counter. Defo not a ultra-defensive game they are playing.
-
Yeah, Chalobah missing out again I am bemused by. Tuchel also indicated before the presser last game that he is due an imminent start.
-
We have a few out, but West Ham have actually rested more key players than I expected. Rice, Antonio and Bowen all on bench. Only one recognised CB for them too. Let's get back on track.
-
They will play their best team against us then in their games against Arsenal the following week, they will rest players as it is only 3 days after they play Frankfurt. Arsenal, I still don't think will catch us but cannot rule it out. I expect them to beat United and they play West Ham at a good time as West Ham will rest some players and generally will not be as fresh. For me Sunday is a must win game just to ensure we don't get in a panicky top 4 race. I just dreaded this kind of result tbh. Arsenal have this knack for beating us every season now, it is really starting to do my head in.

Disagree. He is our player and they fully understood the rules of that when we sent him on loan. He has been their best player this season and while it is an occasion he would want to be part of, he is contracted to us. Why would we jeopardise our chances by allowing him to play? I would not be happy if we did let him play.

Whoscored predicted Liverpool to beat United 5-0 on Tuesday 😂
-
They outplayed us for both games too. Especially the one at their ground. We got lucky to come away with a draw.

That is what makes it feel better, that they are left with egg on their face. As @Superblue_1986 said Grealish is fancied more because he is more flashy and more exciting to watch etc and it is annoying that all the English fans who begged for Grealish to start would take it out on Mount. People would say Grealish isnt starting because he is not at a 'big team'. Grealish is now at a 'big team' and while I don't always want to flash the stats card, if Grealish had Mount stats this season, the Grealish fanboys would be jumping on their high horse. Grealish has only 4 goals this season. 2 in the league and only 2 assists. Grealish has escaped a lot of criticism from the media for obvious reasons but using other supporter's fans views of Mount is a strawman's response.

Proud of the team. What a performance. Just a few lapse in concentrations proved costly. Either way, after that first leg, did not see us beating them 3-1 but we were brilliant. James was brilliant, especially considering he had that yellow from the opening few mins. Kovacic was world class again and because he isn't KDB, his performance will not be spoke about, however he was brilliant. His usual running past players like they aren't there and his general play was top class. Just love watching him. Brilliant player. Rudiger top class. Werner too. Basically whole team put in a good performance. Even was surprised about Alonso and more notably RLC performance. Thought he was solid. The subs were the only ones who failed to impact the game. Still a lot to play for this season. We have been fighting far on all competitions this season. Literally been having a game week in, week out. Finish solidly in the league and hopefully seal FA Cup glory.
-
Just another goal and assist albeit in a non PL game this time. P.S he has his goal against a 'big team' this season. Relief 😊

Defo an old contract. When he signed his new deal, he signed on around £150k p/w. He was a key part of the team when he signed the contract and we gave him a deal to reflect that plus his growing potential. Maybe 55-60k is after tax, however before tax he defo is earning around £150k p/w. He was our most in form player after Hazard before he got that nasty injury.
-
Ok, this season maybe he has not scored as much against the top teams. Last season he scored against Real Madrid and Liverpool. Assisted the goal in the CL final against City. Of course he has inconsistencies, however your criticism of him is just beyond ridiculous sometimes. Goals are goals and assists are assists. Mount not having better stats against the better teams also comes down to other players as well. Not just him. Also you point about stats is wrong. You just assume rather than watch. I can tell you the games he made assists for in open play. Norwich, Arsenal (should of been 2 assists bar incredible save from Leno), Middlesbrough (2), Watford, Luton and Lille. Meaning he has contributed majority from open play. Yes, he has made assists from set pieces a few times, however he has made a few assists from open play too. Says ever manager who continues to manage us. I would rather trust Tuchel's opinion than yours. Time will tell. He is doing well so far.

I admit I was happy with Lukaku, but I pointed out to why is game had improved to Italy. Comments like yours and Nikki's are just silly posts with all respect. You have Nikki saying a ridiculous post about Chelsea fans who like Mount and you making a futuristic prediction which is crazy as if Mount has been poor. He has his poor games like all young players do but the judgements you lot give for him, you would think he is at the peak of his career. He is just turned 23. Of course he is going to have flaws. But that is the while point of working with them and letting them grow. Slating our own players with OTT criticism just irks me.
-
Just turned 23 not too long ago. This season he already has 10 goals and 13 assists in all comps. Have a seat.
-
Top 4 is secure regardless now.
-
He is a sub. At least not an injury.
-
Playing with the ball at his feet is an obvious weakness which we have seen for time and needs work on, but probably something that is hard to coach a player. If they are just not technically gifted, then yeah but saying that there are goalkeepers that have improved with ball at their feet. Another concern is his hesitation in coming out of goal. He is rooted way to deep and the goalkeepers at the best club now regularly come of their line to clear a ball. He puts us in danger way too much. Top keeper but yes a lot of work needs to be done with the way we are looking to play. Because the ability to play out from the back is key to majority of top teams now. Arsenal having Ramsdale has improved them big time, City with Ederson is obvious.
-
Palace doing us a massive favour. Arsenal right on our nails and I do not want them finishing above us. Hopefully no miracle Arsenal come back. Zaha is roasting Cedric apart. Mitchell is a really underrated LB. Not easy to go past him at all. Has done well against Saka.
-
Bring on Lukaku.
-
Surprised Lukaku is not starting. Havertz is our key man atm yes, but he and Werner started both games for Germany during international break and Lukaku had the international break free, so you imagine would be a lot fresher and has a point to prove. Not to underestimate Brentford, but this is a game ewe should be winning even if we don't play our 'best team'. Would have rather seen Havertz rested for the Real game.
-
They aren't the Real of old but they are still a good team we cannot underestimate. They just dumped out PSG, who I know have been below their standards this season but were the pre-tournament favourites. No guarantees we will beat them and they have won the league quite comfortably this season.
-
Thanks god Barca are competing in the UEL and not UCL.
-
Crazy how good this Barca team is now. How did they go from all these financial troubles where they were playing barely recognized first team players suddenly to bying Torres, Auba, Traore etc... I am actually relieved they are out of the Champions League.
