Oscar has not been that good for Brazil too. Coutinho has never been given much starts in a Brazil shirt anyway so it is difficult for him to prove what he can do. If he is given regular starts, however I think he can do good. And Coutinho is a no.10 and so is Oscar, which is why I am making the comparison. Yes, Coutinho is their Hazard but Willian for instance who provides this balance you mention does a lot more and actually contributes a lot more in the game. I am not just talking about this season. I am talking about last season. He always steps up and produces moments of quality throughout the game. Just because Oscar is not given the same responsibility as Hazard, the lack of offensive qualities he gives us is really concerning. I really thought Oscar was going to step up this season but I cannot now. He has even lost his place in the Brazil team now and that says a lot.

I still can't believe we have not had 2 consecutive league wins this season. Spurs would be a fantastic way to break that duck. Nice to see Hazard back to his best. He was very good against Spurs and excellent today. Skysports gave him MOTM rating with the highest of 9. Well done. Still eagerly want him to get that first goal though.

Good to see you back man

Shocking to see how Oscar still is in the Brazil squad and the likes of Coutinho are out of it. He was magnificent today and it is games like this where he shows some of his world class ability. I don't even see how I was debating with some members on here about who is better between Oscar or Coutinho. It is not even a debate. Coutinho has progressed while Oscar has regressed. Well I think it has been the case for a long while anyway what the Brazil squad is not based on meritocracy and it is more marketing and them factors which are based on players being picked. Allan has been excellent for Napoli this season and can't even get in the squad. I would love to see Oscar put in the type of performance Coutinho done today but I just don't think he has that type of ability. I can't see him getting a starting slot any time here soon either.

Arsenal's annual injury crisis gives me good cause of optimism to think they will bottle it as usual and we can catch them. On behalf of Leicester, I keep thinking they are going to drop points eventually and we will catch up with them and we will take advantage but they keep on winning. Not even a definite we will catch them. Makes that Spurs game so vital. If we can win that then...

Watch this space. He is going to go on a goalscoring spree now. Just needed that goal. So happy for him.

Want to see Fabregas back in the double pivot with Matic. I hope the attacking trio is the same as the ones who lined up against Stoke. Hazard, Willian and Pedro and I am happy to give Costa another chance to start up front. Perfect game for him to get back on the scoresheet and give him that new sense of confidence. He has not been good but he is our no.1 striker in the end of the day, so that is why I am prepared to give him more chances. I think Remy deserves to get more games but in this case, if he does start he will not be a long term starter so I would rather Costa starts and I think Mourinho will persist with him too.

TBF to Chalobah, we did not help him. He had an excellent season at Watford then we were not willing to send him there again because of wages dispute. He then settled for total different circumstances at Forest and it went downhill from there tbh. Mourinho obviously saw him as a great talent himself which is why he said he planned to make him part of the first team squad following season (You got to take everything Mourinho says on youth with a pinch of salt tbh). But sometimes if you are not given the opportunity, your development will stall. Alli is thriving for Spurs and England despite jumping up two division after one season at his age. If Alli joined us, he would be in oblivion like Chalobah but he has a team that gives young players chances. Bertrand would not have started. He should have been but Mourinho just would not of done that. The amount of games Luis got is exact proof of that. He rarely rotated and Luis was/is quality. Bertrand would have been in the same predicament and he was not prepared to accept that which is totally understandable. I would love him back here though. Think he is quality.

A lot of them do. We just have a problem of integrating them in the team properly. Courtois is an exception however look at the likes of Bertrand, KDB, Lukaku, Chalobah...

Been the best player on the pitch by far tonight. From start to finish, has dictated play. Hope we see him playing like that for us soon. Great assist for the goal.
-
Deco too, and Geremi was decent at it. And of course, Filipe Luis.
-
Definitely. I am sure it is a skill. He just has spend hours practising and it has benefited him and us. This was his comments on his free kick technique couple weeks ago: "I've been practicing free-kicks for a long time, but until this season I haven't had many opportunities to take them during the game. Now I have, and it comes from something I've been practicing." "I've been hitting the ball with a lot of intensity and I've found a way of striking them from wide on the left with a lot of pace and velocity so there is a chance for my teammates to get a touch on the ball, but if it happens that no one gets a touch, it passes straight into the goal."
-
More skill than luck. He purposely adds that spin so that if it evades a player's head it can work it's way to the goal.
-
His goal record for a striker so young is excellent but his game is so limited. He is nothing more to me than a goal poacher. He does not have any real pace, is not dominant in the air, not a good dribbler, decent power, nothing outstanding but even Inter fans get frustrated with the lack of things he offers when he is not scoring. He is a very good finisher though. Not surprised he was took off early against Torino. Just could not get in the game and it has been like that regularly for Inter, he does not get involved much.
-
As bad as Cesc has been, he is fine to start this match. These are the matches where he will be useful. We are going to control play for most of the match. Fabregas will be the main dictator and he will not really be exploited these kind of games. I would have him as a definite starter. It is the game in the league after at Spurs, where we should have him out the team because he will be exposed more. I would have 100% have him in the team for Norwich though.

Rose returned from injury and Davies was playing decent so Pochettino did not want to be unfair to Davies. Like Mangala and Otamendi at City. Eventually Otamendi was always going to start but Pellegrini did not want to be harsh to Mangala so persisted with him a bit until the time was right. Rose is on another level to Davies and now Rose has regaiend his spot in the main 11. Walker is underrated. Always has been. He has been criticized about his defensive lapses in concentration but has really improved that poart of his game this season. But I think we would benefit by having someone as powerful and explosive as Walker in the team. Clyne, tbh was the best RB in the league last season.
-
Walker really has improved. Sanchez really struggled aginst him as have many wingers this season. I would take him in our team for sure. Regarding Rose, he is their first choice LB. For Europa league games etc, Davies starts.
-
He is not bad either tbf to him.
-
I remember when there were some rumours linking us with Kyle Walker and I am sure there were people who laughed at the idea. It may have been Danny Rose, not too sure. Maybe both. But like all season, Walker was fantastic again. He is so powerful and fast and it is rare players beat him on 1 on 1. Even when he used to get criticism in the past seasons I never fully understood it because I always believed his pros outweigh his cons. I don't think there are much RB that are better than him. He has everything.
-
All together however I think he may easily do that in the league. 26 games left. 5 goals. I think he can get 15 goals in 26 games or get very close.
-
I guarantee you he will get to the 20 goal mark this season. His game is well too rounded to be a one season wonder.
-
So the double he scored against us and Arsenal last season including hattricks against Leicester was all a fluke? Rubbish. He is a quality young striker. The excuses some people will come up with to downplay a player baffles me, really.
-
Well played. Like I said though, put him in our team and see what happens. Put Hazard is that team and I guarantee you his key passes is the same if not probably more than that.
-
Well I don't want it to happen but he would show his true quality. Comparing Hazard stats with Neymar right now is like comparing Benteke when he was at Villa and Aguero at City. One team plays football while the other one does not know how to so of cours Aguero will have more goals. That is not a discredit to Neymar, His form has been excellent and he is a terrific player but even he would struggle in this team right now. I am sure of that.
