This sexy mofo of ours is playing tonight for Vitesse I assume in their Europa League qualifying game or something. No idea when kick-off is.

Tbh, people can try and put a negative spin on that game, but the fact is, in just one game, we've outscored both Manchester clubs in pre-season and they've been against clubs no one has ever heard of (Manchester City even lost to one of them.) Seattle W. are no pushovers. They're currently going through their normal season so had all the hunger to win - our players didn't even take the game that seriously yet still won. We've scored more than Tottenham + Arsenal combined also - and that's us playing without the likes of Terry, Torres, an actual left-back, Cech, etc. I think it was a good game. I'm glad it's given Marin + Hazard the chance to try and understand eachother's game.

Currently drinking anything with caffeine in it and eating anything with bad sugar in it to try and keep me up. Also just trying to pass the time by watching this guy's entertaining vids:

It's quite odd that I'm more excited by this signing than Hazard's considering I've no idea how he'll even fit in, but like I've said many times, although players like Hazard have extraordinary talent, Oscar definitely has *it*. I've got butterflies in my stomach now. Haven't had these since I fancied some girl in high school years ago!

Liverpool for being the greatest team of all time. They're simply the model club which all others should follow. They have possibly the greatest midfielder of all time in Steven Gerrard, and only haven't won the Premier League due to the likes of us and Manchester United being corrupt. Their fans are polite, well behaved, and never abusive. They are based in a stunning location, and are simply the definition of "football".

So - According to various news outlets today, we've had around £50mil in total rejected for Walcott + Willian, have decided we want to buy Cavani for £35mil, made a concrete offer of £25mil for Oscar, and maintain an interest in £35mil forward Hulk. That's almost £150mil. Exactly. Sounds silly, doesn't it? Please don't believe everything the media report.

I'VE GOT HIS SISTER ON FACEBOOK <3. uJelly?

One more thing about Cavani - I simply don't want to sign him because I respect Napoli & their fans and they don't deserve to have a star player taken away from them. Lavezzi was logical to sell, but Cavani should stay. How would we have liked it if a few years ago Real Madrid for example just came along and signed Drogba?
-
Falcao, Gomez, Huntelaar, Benzema, Ibrahimovic, Van Persie...
-
I've read a lot of...well, rubbish above. First of all, Cavani is 25. He is also not the best striker in the world (Rooney, Falcao, Aguero etc.) This may come across as ignorant to some, but trust me - he simply does not work well unless his team are counter-attacking. He would not fit in our predicted new system. Napoli want to build on last season. They've made money from the sale of Lavezzi, so now they'll obviously reinforce the team in other areas as Insigne from their youth system (who spent last season out on loan) will be a perfect Lavezzi replacement for free. Do you really think they're going to let their best player leave? What would they have to gain from that? They don't need the money and there's not a single striker on the market who suits their team more than he does. Cavani would cost A LOT. Why anyone would want to pay more for him than Falcao, for example (who is rumoured to want to leave as he actually wants to play in the Champions League finally and Atletico Madrid may be forced into selling anyway due to money problems) just because he's 1 year younger baffles me. I've done enough talking of my own feelings about this now. I want someone to maturely explain to me how on earth they think he'd work in our system + team, and where the logic is in us having he + Torres. Finally, I wish people wouldn't jump on everything our media says. Maybe check if a reputable Serie A/Italian outlet has reported it? He is in a Serie A team after all. You don't get 'exclusive' news about the Premier League over in Italy or Spain, do you? It's also standard, cheap journalism. They look at a rumoured story, think how likely it is, then report it in a way where they're non-committal about it. In this case, they say wages are a stumbling block. So it's win-win for the paper now. Either we sign him and their lucky guess paid off and they're made to look more 'reputable', or we don't sign him and then they say "well, we told you about the wage problem". Please only comment if you've seen more than his 2 games against us.

He is very very very good - just not as good as Eden I've seen him rip holes in defender's arses plenty of times, as I actually used to follow him thinking he was Eden Hazard. (Embarrassing, I know.) He'd be a decent buy, although I'm not sure how he'd get playing time.

Although Oscar isn't Brazil's undisputed number 10, let's look at the players he's managed to edge away from to keep the role his own - for now. Lucas Moura Ganso Diego Kaka Hernanes Ronaldinho** (No longer really a part of the squad, but Oscar seemed to be overtaking him when he was part of it.) Oscar will turn 21 this year. There's a reason he's preferred over the experienced Ronaldinho + Kaka, the underrated Hernanes, the masterful playmaker Diego and the highly-rated (by some) players of roughly the same age; Lucas + Ganso. It's because he's special. Sometimes long articles, analysis's, stats & opinions can't put into words to describe a player and how special he is. This is often because this special trait is only seen by a few with a keen eye. Dispute it all you want, but in my opinion, Oscar has it, and If moulded correctly, I'm positive he could go down an all-time Brazil great. You don't wear Brazil's #10 due to luck.
-
I've noticed that, from when I've watched him, Oscar has been decent when playing with his club, but outstanding when with Brazil. It would seem he's one of the players who thrives off the big-name players around him, and negatively feeds off the energy of poorer players.
-
Maybe we're doing what I hoped we'd do - drop the wingers, but keep the 4-2-3-1, and create a lot of chances through possession - exactly like Manchester City do. Torres would thrive under this, assuming Oscar plays deep and we play someone unselfish on the right.

Sky Sports haven't reported any false information today regarding this. Earlier they simply reported what his agent said, which was true. His agent said exactly what they reported. They've now updated the situation surrounding this deal, which let's us know that his agent wasn't letting on as much as he could.

I think they're cute together

I don't like Emenalo at all. I genuinely blame him for our stupid transfers which weren't down to the manager - not Abramovich. -
This transfer would make me cry. He's just as frustrating as Malouda + Kalou. Maybe even more frustrating; and just a little more talented. He dives, is a terrible finisher, and lacks composure. All he's good at is winning the odd penalty, putting in the odd decent cross, and having amazing dribbling skills...when there's no one around him.
-
Me too. It came up with "freeones" for me!

I can't see this deal happening. Unfortunately, I can't see as signing any more midfielders this window, unless you want to consider a winger a midfielder.
