  2. Who cares if you're glad the board pulled the trigger on RDM?
  3. I refuse to say he's done a decent job simply because of the loss to Swansea in the cup. If we'd won that cup, the Europa League and got top 4 then I'd give him credit. I feel he's done nothing special and I don't buy that idea that our bright start in the league under Di Matteo wasn't going to last. I genuinely believe it was.
  4. If Ba plays 90 vs. Everton this could potentially (finally) be the last time he plays for us. But, alas, he'll probably be here next season.
  5. Mikel seemed rather eager and happy to be lifting the trophy for someone who came out and conceded he found the Europa League nothing but an interruption to his week..
  6. Time to visit a Tottenham forum again?
  7. Falcao isn't allowed to lower wage demands I think. When he signed his original contract with the 3rd-party group I believe they got the rights to dictate how much he'd earn above a certain amount. From what I understand he genuinely does not have a say in what happens in his career until his contract with this 3rd-party group expires or they decide to let him go - unless he breaches his contract. Same with Hulk and probably plenty other players but it's just not reported because they're not high-profile.
  8. If Mourinho was a 'failure' at Madrid then just about every manager at their helm in the past decade has been a failure. So I don't really see that as a blemish on his career.
  9. Well to the likes of Swansea City, Lazio, Stuttgart and Real Sociedad it may be a major European trophy, but when you've won the Champions League trophy just the season before the Europa League, it's a minor European trophy, especially considering they're the only 2 we can even compete for and you have to fail in the Champions League or fail reaching the top 4 in this country to even be put into the competition. I'm sure he'll be smiling loads from the bench enjoying a rest.
  10. It's not like he's missing out on the CL final vs. some huge European powerhouse team. I doubt he had dreams of starting the Europa League final. Chill.
  11. I have no doubt at all that he's the most 'complete' striker in world football currently, but with that said, he does have his drawbacks. He's known to go on goalscoring droughts (although he does make up for this a bit with his excellent all-round game) and he's only ever performed well in counter-attacking teams with lots of space behind him to work with. He won't get that space here with Mata and Hazard crammed up his bum. Hopefully he can adapt his game a bit. That said, he did quite well here and it wasn't exactly a blistering counter-attack for the first goal! The 3rd goal is how most his goals happen though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EJtkuUi-6s
  12. Why the fuck would he choose City, who just lost to WIGAN in a final, over us? The same City who are now infamous chokers in Europe? Where is the logic? They can't exactly out-bid us on any players, we have more history and more specifically a history with Mourinho himself, and have you seen the points on the PL table? It's not exactly like there's a chasm between City and ourselves this season. Honestly it's like all logic goes out the window here sometimes. Edit: I also believe City's policy is similar to ours. The board buy the players, not the manager. This is a huge reason as to why Mancini was frustrated during his time there. They sound worse than our own. There are zero positives in picking City over ourselves.
  13. Could see them getting Frank de Boer actually. City want to get their youth in the team more (apparently) while still staying somewhat successful. He'd probably be the best candidate for that.
  14. If Manchester City get Pellegrini they're getting a mid-table specialist. Manchester United just hired a mid-table 'specialist', yet despite having talented teams he's failed to win a single trophy (with Everton). If we get Mourinho the league is ours.
  15. Who would I rather manage City - A manager who failed at Madrid (in a way) and has an Intertoto Cup, Copa Chile, Argentinian league title from over a decade ago and a league title with a team from Ecuador, or - A manager with numerous Coppa Italia's, numerous Serie A titles and a Premier League title, numerous Supercoppa's, a Community Shield and an F.A. Cup? Manchester City's players are underachievers and the weak ones, not Mancini. Mancini was and is a great manager. Pellegrini is in no way shape or form an upgrade just because he got 2 teams to surprise positions in Europa/the league. I don't see Mancini leaving being a bad thing for us at all.
  16. Love hearing about Ake going to Amsterdam from the commentator. My hopes are just getting higher and higher for him. He seems to play better at senior level than youth level in my opinion, quite like Chalobah.
  17. What a pathetic dive lol. How can you expect to save the ball like that
  18. We need to invest in an absolute top quality youth striker next season. Someone tall, big, lanky, with a physical presence. Lukaku or Drogba in their teens would score for fun in this team.
  19. Starting to feel Feruz isn't good enough.
  20. And what if the first-option on 2 players would turn out to be Lewandowski and Subotic/Hummels/Gundogan? Hard to resist you know. Sure, in the future, De Bruyne could be one of the best, but we're stacked in his position right now and have priorities. We need a Terry replacement (Subo/Hum) and a playmaker (Gundogan) and also a striker (Lew). Unless De Bruyne is okay about playing out wide on the right, I'd see this as a good deal. Then again, we are Chelsea. Why not keep De Bruyne and just sign all of those Dortmund players mentioned? We certainly have the money.
  21. Real Madrid appointing Mourinho and then trying to appoint Ancelotti? Chelsea wannabes
  22. If anyone remembers my comments regarding Lukaku when I first signed up here I'd like to retract them. I stand by strongly that he's no "new Drogba" and all that rubbish, but I definitely said I couldn't see him making it to the highest level of football. He's changed my mind at West Brom.
