  1. Being a Chelsea supporter it should be easy enough to decline Tottenham Also considering his age, his prime-watching years of us must have been when Mourinho was here, so he knows how much Mou can get out of players. The chance to work with him would surely be too good to - OH NO. I just had an image in my head of Shaw in a Tottenham kit and it looks sorta right ah no
  2. Hopefully he can prove his worth at Vitesse before we use him.
  3. Just remembered we were linked with Negredo. Maybe after all these Cavani/Lewi/Rooney/Falcao rumours we'll end up with him
  4. Real Sociedad are an absolute money printing machine. Just bet on Over 2.5 (total) goals every single game and if you want a greater return add Over 0.5 of those goals to come from Sociedad in the first half. So easy
  5. Leverkusen set to sign Romarinho from Corinthians as his replacement.
  6. Well he's not returning to Inter!!!!! I'm shocked by this but apparently Mazzari, current Napoli manager, has signed a 3-year deal with Inter. I thought they would stick by Stramaccioni. Strama is currently denying he's leaving but really reputable sources are claiming they've seen the contract being signed. Benatia of Udinese is a target now as is Nainggolan. AS Roma now targeting Allegri as their next manager (they were hoping for Mazzari) with Mancini rumoured to be going to Napoli. All doors but ours seem to be closing for Mourinho.
  7. If he comes back I'll be incredibly happy for the newer fans who never saw him here. He's just magical
  8. I'd play him on the right wing. That's how Schweinsteiger got started. Eventually he'll probably also take up a deep role. I'm sure he'd be at his best in a central attacking position but that will never happen here unless Mata and Oscar get their legs ripped off by a tractor while they're skipping through a field near a farm.
  9. I didn't say it was But it's typical considered in the top 5 leagues. PL, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1. Then there's what are considered 'smaller' leagues in Holland, Brazil, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Russia, Ukraine, Belgium and Scotland. Did I say he does? Monaco are now a Ligue 1 team assuming their tax problem is resolved and at 26 years of age it's not exactly his whole career. I doubt he'd be at Monaco for the rest of his footballing life. France is a top league with top players. Thiago Silva = Best central defender in the world. Plays in France. Ibrahimovic = Consistently one of the top strikers in the world. Plays in France. Lavezzi = One of the best 2nd-strikers in world football. Plays in France. Falcao = One of the best strikers in the world, potentially about to play in France. Azpilicueta, our great new right-back, just came from France. Eden Hazard, that cool Belgian bloke, just came from France. France produces top talent and is a league known for it's flair players. The only crap thing about the league really is the poor vocal support in stadiums. PSG are a threat in the Champions League. Monaco will be a threat in the Champions League. Teams like Lyon and Marseille, at times, can be threats in the Champions League. I don't see why someone wouldn't want to play in a league with such extraordinary talent in such a lovely country. Moutinho has proven himself in the Champions League with Porto as well as with his national team on numerous occasions. Neymar is yet to play even 5 games against top club opposition and is inconsistent for the NT.
  10. His golazo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=T6mU18_eaoI
  11. Playing excellently in a deep-ish midfield 3 role. I think Bremen are playing a 4-3-1-2 or something and he's on the right. Also got a good block in around his own penalty area. Oh and the goal.
  12. Gladbach leading 3-1 after 9 minutes.
  13. Bayern Munich losing to Borussia M.Gladbach 2-1 after 7 minutes
  14. I know this term isn't used much on here but I think the reason a lot of us don't like Mikel playing for us is because we're used to having water carriers in the team. Essien, Makelele, Ramires - All water carriers; They all had engines built in them and had the ability to win the ball back often with ease. They're players who had/have a few dimensions to their game. Mikel is one-dimensional. Arteta - Pass master (well, if we exaggerate a bit) yet averages more tackles/interceptions than Mikel each game. He dictates the game's tempo. He wins the ball back then decides what his team is going to do with the ball. A lesser version of Xabi Alonso basically. Same goes for Wilshere. Ramires - Wins the ball back around 4 times per game I believe compared to Mikel's average of 2.7 (if I remember correctly) but also offers a lot to the attack; bombing forward and hassling opponents and laying the ball off to a creative player or sprinting past players and finishing off a counter-attack sequence himself. Same goes for Vidal only Vidal is a freak of nature and much better. Tiote (Yes, Tiote) - An aggressive player who simply wins the ball back one way or another. He may be too rough for people's liking or not have "Mikel's outstanding understanding of the game" but he rarely stops running or tackling. He also takes decent pops at goal. Same goes for Diame. Mikel - Stands there hoping the opponent accidentally passes the ball to his feet, for him to turn around and give the ball to one of our defenders, often leading to slow build-up or a Juventus goal Same goes for a tree trunk. Mikel apparently has a great understanding of the game according to many on here but I never see it on the pitch. Maybe he should hang up his boots and become a manager.
  15. I think he'd do well somewhere like Watford if they get promoted, Brighton if they (somehow) now manage to get promoted, Swansea but only if Michu gets sold, basically any passing-based team. I know he's a lot more to the point and direct than Eden, more about making the simple pass than entertaining the crowd, which is why I feel he'd be better at a smaller team in the PL as they're likely to counter-attack more than the bigger teams when against opposition like United, Arsenal, City etc. which would put his directness to good effect but they're good enough to control possession vs. Stoke, Liverpool, West Brom and so-on.
  16. I get a funny feeling this deal to Monaco will fall through and then Monaco will go out and sign Kaka. No idea why.
  17. ...There's nothing wrong with wanting to play in Ligue 1... Not everyone needs to play in the Premier League, and not everyone gets offers from the top clubs in Germany/Spain while Italy is on the decline.
  18. He'd compliment Luiz well. Both very aggressive but he's much more disciplined and seems to understand the role far more than many players older than him. I don't believe he's particularly injury-prone personally. I think he's just had bad luck with injuries. But if I'm wrong and he is indeed injury prone, from what I've seen of him, he's like a carbon-copy of Vidic... and you don't pass up the chance to sign a 21 year old Vidic From what I understand though there's very little to this rumour and Liverpool are the ones considering a bid.
  19. John Terry allegedly (and looks to have) call someone a "black cunt", cheats on his wife with his teammate's girl and Ashley Cole shoots someone with a rifle after sending dick-pics out while married, yet this guy shouldn't be signed 'because he's a cunt' He's been so overrated ever since he was shoved into the limelight by Arsenal fans and Arsenal-supporting columnists etc. that people who don't even watch him play now completely underrate him. He's a workhorse, an actual rather great passer, can win the ball like the best of them currently in the game and has really good strength. He's nothing Jose couldn't iron out.
  20. If you'd rather keep Cech for 2 or 3 years and let Courtois go ahead of getting in Courtois right now and keeping him for over a decade you need a slap to get that strong taste of sentiment out your mouth. Imagine if Barcelona put sentiment ahead of playing Messi all those years ago or Real Madrid hung onto sentiment and Raul was still their striker When someone better comes along they're supposed to take their place in the team. Cech is more 'experienced' yet Courtois already has, what, 5 major trophies? And he played a crucial role in winning all of them. Yes, Cech was crucial to our Champions League success last season, but can he do it again? I have my doubts. Cech is probably the better shot-stopper and is better at timing when to jump up and collect the ball. His kicking is also better. He also has that special 'something' which comes to surface at crucial moments. Courtois has better agility, diving, on-par reactions, commands his box far more, is better at passing along the ground, is better at throwing the ball, and has far more years ahead of him. You could probably also say he's got that special 'something' considering he has 5 major titles, won Best Goalkeeper Of The Year in Belgium in 2010 and has (I understand) won Best La Liga Goalkeeper this season too ahead of the likes of Lopez, Casillas, Valdes, Willy (lol) etc. You can't get rid of the spine of a team all at once, but you do have to constantly rebuild at the top level and know when to put sentiment aside. I'm positive we'd be equally as strong with Courtois starting ahead of Cech; not stronger or weaker - but he'd have his age to his advantage and the fact he hasn't had a head injury which does hold Cech back a bit these days. We've seen what Mourinho did with Cech. Imagine Courtois.
  21. First full season in his coaching career that he's not won a single trophy apparently.
  22. This Mourinho team plays with less desire than I've ever seen from any team under him.
