I think it was going to happen even if we didn't lose against Spurs. Cahill and Terry played crazy amount of matches in December, they obviously got tired. Zouma played five full games in January: three alongside JT and two with Cahill. I think it was because those two needed an easy January, not because we had one bad game against Spurs.
-
Any Greek TC-member watching our match? It's been pretty good so far, both teams can win.
-
He is very young man, he probably needed a little time to adapt. Also, he is not a world class player nor a big money buy, there was no reason to make him a starter immediately. This is a process. Zouma is becoming stronger and better, hopefully he'll be a regular in a year or two.
-
Fair point but I don't think Mourinho's decision is based on one single game. Zouma probably had to catch the rhythm in the first few months. His six games in the CL/COC and his 45 minutes against Spurs showed that he is ready to feature more. Mourinho must love his attitude and his training work too. Zouma proved that a young player's fight for his spot could be succesful.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Mikel sits on the bench a lot and he is experienced enough to play in any game. He played more than 330 matches for Chelsea. Aké has played about ten games in professional football, most of them were cameos. I think he needs at least one season with regular playing time.
-
I know I've already answered your comment but I was browsing statistics and something came to my mind: Zouma has played 714 minutes(around 8 matches) in his 20 appearances - so he played easily less than Rémy. Still, I don't think it has been a wasted season for him. He seems to become more confident each time he plays. Last summer most of us were not even sure if he stays at Chelsea but now he is a reliable squad member and next season he's probably going to play more. I just hope the same thing can happen to Bamford.
-
You are right but that's not what you said in your previous comment Also, Aké is still very young and can prove his talent on loan. Hopefully we'll find him a team that suits him for next season.
-
So we should sell Courtois, Cahill, Ivanovic, Zouma and Azpilicueta? Aké's situation is annoying but we have some cheap and good quality players.
-
I think they will extend the loan if it turns to be succesful. I doubt he'd come back if he became a starter.
-
Ryan has been called up to the national team as Baines got injured. England will play against Italy on Tuesday.
-
Montenegro - Russia was called of yesterday because two Russian players were hit with firework. Jovetic's comment: "It seems like the Russians waited for the smallest thing to happen so they can tell the referee." What a jerk How can he say such a stupid thing?
-
Actually our 3rd choice striker played more minutes than our 2nd. We'll see but I find signings like Drogba and Adebayor pointless.
-
I checked, Rémy has played about 900 minutes. I'm not sure if it would be such a tragedy for a young man to play that much for Chelsea. New level of football, new competititons, much better teammates, he could improve a lot in a season. Mourinho is reportedly not a fan of Lukaku but Bamford almost became a squad member last summer. We'll see. I hope the club will find the best solution for him.
-
Even if he scored 15 goals for Boro in the Premier League he would start from the bench here. No young player becomes a starter immediately. Of course I'm not a hundred percent sure that bringing Pat back would be a good idea but I think we need a young, ambitious striker. Drogba and Rémy ar ok but they are clearly not dangerous to Costa. A young man who is becoming better and better and is eager to play may be nice.
-
This is not mathematics, not an exact science. You may be right but what if Pat needs to be around players like Costa to step on the next level? Harry Kane has experienced rivals like Soldado or Adebyor but Spurs didn't loan him out. Wilson got his chance at Manchester United altough there are world class strikers there. Also, Middlesbrough is currently 3rd in the Championship. What if they don't qualify?
-
Aké is a defensive player, it'd more risky to play him. Strikers are rotated more often. Rémy played 23 times this season, Drogba featured 33 times.
-
1. Chelsea 2. Don't give a damn 3. Don't give a damn 4. Don't give a damn
-
Why should we loan him out again? He is turning 22 this year, he's had a fantastic season, this is his time to step on the next level. Even if Boro qualifies for PL they will fight against relegation which is not optimal for a young striker. I hope we'll bring him back and he can take his chance. Training with world class players and play 15-20 games for Chelsea could be benefitial for him. Signing Ade would be pointless IMO.
-
Pff.. Huge NO He's 31. has been sitting on the bench for months, ex-Spurs, Arsenal and City player. Why don't we replace Drogba with Bamford?
-
A moron in Montenegro threw firework on Akinfeev, he couldn't stay on the pitch. It was the second minute only. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj7XYcIEJu4

11. He would be perfect as James Bond or Malfoy.
-
Gaspachio's head is going to blow up someday He shouldn't wear tight shirts.
-
They mispelled Volkswagen's name in Stadte de France last night
-
No way he's coming back to England. He reportedly goes back to Boca Junior in the summer of 2015 or 16. Also, he said he only plays in Europe for money, he's always wanted to go back.
-
Why would I be scared of José? That's a pretty weird thing to say.. He is not a dictator but he is the one that decides on players future. De Bruyne was his little favourite when he returned and reportedly became unwanted because he talked too much. Again, I'm not saying this statement was horrible but it was the kind of interview media can make a big deal of so Hazard(and other players) should be careful.
