  1. And if it goes wrong? and I mean it could definitely go wrong. He's not tearing it up as an 18yr old.
  2. Dude you're embarrassing yourself. Stop now... The Champions League is the most prestigious club tournament in the World, the pressure to perform well is magnified 10X than it is to have a game a WHL... Having said that of the English teams you've mentioned which of them was Shaw a standout player?
  3. Make up your mind dude! Now you're saying they drove up the price to keep us away? I thought a club this size can afford to pay that amount? Face it, in the eyes of our Board and Jose, Luke Shaw is not the answer at LB. And for those saying Filipe isn't a bargain at 20m I would beg to differ because if Filipe allows Hazard to become a Ballon D'or candidate in the next 2-3 yrs his value will be considered a bargain.
  4. lol... Let's not get carried away here, I know you have a Shaw hard on but come on... 30m for a serviceable LB who hasn't played in one big game is a gross overpayment. If he flops it'll be of Andy Carroll-like proportions. If he does well, well then they got what they paid for I suppose. I don't have faith Luke Shaw will ever be a £30m player
  5. And THAT'S WHY it needs to change. In terms of bang for your buck you're getting severely ripped off. I'm not English so I have less of an issue about where the player originates from. If we have English men on the roster and mostly on the bench I'm cool with that rather than overspending for mediocre "talent"
  6. Of course it does!!! He's yet to play in any big games and hasn't been a world beater in the small ones.
  7. We need to produce English talent not overpay for it.
  8. LOL... I was saying we'd be overspending by 15m to get Shaw. He's nowhere near worth what he's going for its clear as a summer's day
  9. We didn't lose anything, did we even bid? We actually saved... somewhere in the neighbourhood of 15m
  10. No thanks, 30m for English 'talent' is way too much... Glad he's going to Utd for that amount.
  11. Metro News Reporter.... Meaning agent planting bullshit links.
  12. I'm not a fan of 3-5-2 as a permanent formation but as a possible plan C, sure... Ivanovic would definitely get in ahead of Zouma in that set up.
  13. Shows glimpses of brilliance, needs to find of a level of consistency. Needs to take the game by the scruff of the neck... if he can turn the 4-5 games of brilliance into 10-12 he will be mentioned in the same breath as the Messi's and Ronaldo's.
  14. What's your point? Players want to play for Chelsea too. Who's saying anything about 85M?
  15. Of course we can. What are you talking about?
  16. please let this be more than a coincidence... Maybe he's using the game to see how he can fit in tactically? I just want him, BAD
  17. We'd be better off with Costa in my mind but if we end up with Mandzukic that wouldn't be a bad alternative. I don't know why everything here is so black and white? They are both fantastic players who fit with the personnel of this team. I wouldn't mind having a strike force of Costa, Mandzukic, Lukaku.
  18. I don't see a proper captain here. My candidates are Oscar, Cahill and Matic. None of them scream captain to me though
  19. I'm just not 100% on this. Need to see it before I make a true assessment.
  20. Why not? he was available and relatively cheap and exactly the type of player we need. His mental qualities are next to impossible to assess until you work with him.
  21. Mourinho is a motivator, take what he says with a grain of salt. He also called Ozil the best no.10 in the world.
  22. That's assuming you believe that Cesc is actually a competitive personality... I know I'd LIKE to believe that but I'm not so sure he is.
  23. How many golden chances in the box do you think the combination of Eto'o/Ba/TORRES missed last year? How many goals do you think Costa has to score to be considered a good buy?
  24. I hate to agree with you on this but I'm actually starting to accept it now. Lukaku is better served on a team that won't be facing compact defenses every game. His touch and control in tight spaces is poor and because of that he may be better off playing elsewhere. On a personal level I'd love for him to be here, on a footballing level he just seems too raw to play for a top 5 club... He's better than Torres though.
  25. The comparisons to Didier need to stop.... They are nothing alike on the football field.
