Nowhere did I say the title race is over. You keep talking about City like we have to play them every week, we don't, Its about the league itself and I don't see a need to add Reus just because he may be available. This has more to do with keeping the playing field competitive, by January there stands to be a good chance we're out of sight so why are we looking to buy another player of World Class talent? if the summer comes and a need opens up then we can look to buy him but at current its just a luxury buy or a high stakes game of keep away.
-
Barca's most dominant run was after they got Villa, not before. Hate to break it to you but Schurrle has already scored important goals, wasn't it he who scored against City? We have 3 world class players already Cesc, Hazard and Costa... You say that everyone can compete but we're 8pts ahead of City at the beginning of November.
-
Buying for the sake of buying isn't good for the competition. end of... We don't need him, I'd love to see him here but we don't really need him. That's the point.
-
Lets be honest with yourselves here, it becomes less and less likely. As we acquire more talent the pool shrinks and the price to compete increases. This is also coupled with FFP where revenue comes into play... We have to be smart about the way we treat the competition or there won't be one. City illegally tried to do exactly what you guys want and beat us by 4pts last year(we didn't even have a striker) Now we want Reus? We're 8pts clear at the international break! What signs are there that we even need him? Is it just to play keep away or is there a definite need?
-
You can always improve, that's not in question here. Its whether we're nearing a point where we start to make the Prem look like the German league or La Liga(some might argue it already is) I had no problem with the draws at Manchester. Against City we didn't play well and against Utd they got a few lucky decisions go their way... Thats the competition I'm talking about, you're looking at two draws against big clubs as a disappointment I see it as healthy competition.
-
Are we not already one of the best teams in the world? with a relatively young squad? You're adding one incredible talent to a team that is already running away with the league.
-
Meh... We already have a world beater of a team that hasn't even fully developed yet. I'm not saying no but I am saying the integrity of the competition is at stake here and its getting to the point where we could be out of sight long before January. That's not cocky either, its the reality. I enjoy games like the one last year where we went to Anfield and battled for that 2-0 win! I enjoy the unpredictably of the competition! I dislike what is going on in most of the other leagues where every year before the season starts you can predict with 95% accuracy who will win.
-
Hey man you're entitled to your opinion. I like the Premiership and I despise what has happened in other competitions like the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and also La Liga... I like competition, I like the idea that there is a good possibility that when we play Crystal Palace they can get a result, its what makes the Prem so compelling. I hate what is happening in Germany right now! You're talking about City (who have been sanctioned) and Man U (who are miles off the pace having already spent a record amount in the window this year) come on dude...
-
Not at all... I'm a football fan I love the competition that is the Premiership, Chelsea is already dominating that division. We are in a lot of ways developed! We have a very balanced squad. This talk about the coming seasons doesn't weigh in at all, at current we are head and shoulders ahead of our rivals adding Reus only makes the gap even further and forces the other teams to buy more to keep the gap reasonable. Evolution should occur in development not in buy ready made players like Reus who at current we don't need. I want to win everything every year but I enjoy having games where we battle and the result isn't a foregone conclusion.
-
Have I even mentioned the German league? I don't give two shits about the bundesliga. And you're missing my point. This is about the Prem! Signing Reus makes the Prem become more of a formality, if this comes off as it should we basically will be playing for the champions league like Bayern and to a lesser extent PSG. I hated when Bayern did it and it would be no different if Chelsea did.

The Spanish Football Federation released the following statement: 'The Chelsea midfielder has been ruled out for the games against Belarus and Germany following tests and an evaluation of his condition that was carried out this morning by the medical staff of the Spanish national team. 'The MRI done this morning in the Sanitas Clinic in La Moraleja (Madrid) showed a clear improvement with respect to the one done by his club on Sunday. 'Although the MRI discards a hamstring tear, the player continues to have discomfort and the medical team considers that his involvement in the next games would not be advisable for his complete recovery.'

I must be the only one here who has moved from an automatic YES vote to sitting on the fence. Adding Reus would be over kill sort of... I can see the need for him in the Champions league latter stages but he's cup tied. We could be out of sight come January in the Prem and adding a talent like Reus would almost assure we will run away with the league. I do want Chelsea to be the mosr dominating force in Europe, however, I would rather the Prem not resemble the German league in the process. I love the competition and would like it to stay a competition. Chelsea are obviously already huge favourites to grab the best talent in the world mainly due to location and money. If we can't even see a competitive top 4 this league will be dead... having said that I wouldn't hate it if we got Reus...
-
Cesc has a "hamstring inflammation" & "his participation in the next games would not be recommended for complete recovery."
-
Guys simple cure for the no football blues is to download the games from earlier this year and re-watch them. Its also a god way to measure the progression or regression of players.
-
All this is true but we all know he's capable of more. when he's through 1v1 with the keeper he has to score those.
-
We looked good in stretched for sure. Thought Cesc was off the pace perhaps mainly due to injury... Need to finish off chances in the area better, other than that we were pretty good, not great.
-
Bild is shit so I don't believe it. I would love to have him though!
-
May not do it like Cesc but he can do it. He played the 10 for Benfica.
-
Matic can play that role.

Who do u want to see start in the FB positions?

People who pick Luis can't be going on current form since he hasn't come close to winning the job from Azpi... He's a good insurance policy should be lose one of Cahill, Terry, Ivanovic or Azpi but he hasn't been good enough to disrupt that back 4 end of.... -
I'm more than okay with the international break this time around! We haven't been playing at our best and now we're 8pts clear with a chance to recuperate. I will resort to re-watching some of our matches to get my fix for the two weeks
-
I think this international break is perfectly timed. We have a few niggling injuries, have gotten through a relatively important stretch of games unscathed and with the team needing a bit of a break to mentally recharge its a good time to go away and play for the national teams. Feel like this period (November) is a chance for those who are jaded like hazard, schurrle, fab and perhaps Oscar to get away from the mental fatigue of having to win and relax a bit and enjoy their football. Feel like the wheels would've fallen off had we had to play another game next weekend.

You must enjoy having egg on your face week after week.

They're still in shell shock from the masterclass at Anfield last year.
